So the only thing I can think about "PreFlight" is like a PreFlight check before an airplane takes off. Maybe a euphemism for some sort of home stretch in finalizing their writing before they have to be "done"? PreFlight wants them to be done and they want to rebel? #mybestguess

Hmmm... perhaps programmers are the templars because it's their job to impose order on the unruly... i.e. there's what the devs WANT to do but there only certain things the programmers actually CAN do? So, they have to quash all dreams??  Maybe Tim the Programmer is the rebel!Templar???  LOL either that, or he's the templar everyone loves to hate...? LMAO
