@LolaLei, Ah, good points. I think we've learned... 2 years is not enough! LOL But, you're right, they've probably been working on it for a while. I recall that within a few months of DA2 coming out, there was an employment ad for a DA3 designer. Given that amount of time, I suppose even seeing the companion armor mockups is already a lot. OK - excited again, not sad.
@Samara,Ah, cool. thanks! And, that's the word: bowhairs. Jeesh, yes, I am completely musically illiterate. <_<
Hopefully, they
may have had some ideas of what they might want to do before DA2 wrapped and hit the ground running. I do worry that the lack of confirmation means the worst but since the devs seem so intereted in our opinions and there's been art, I'm more hopeful than not. :innocent:
I'm not terribly music literate though, either. I know a little about band stuff because my Dad has played bass, drums or guitar all his life. I found out that bows are strung with hair because of a Geico commercial where the narrator asks if Charlie Daniels plays a mean fiddle. Charlie ruins the bow and I just HAD to know what they're strung with.
Now I know they use hair - horse hair mostly. And a substance called rosin is rubbed onto the hairs for better traction. There are synthetic hairs too but they're pretty crappy. The accuracy of a note can be affected and the nylon can wear down the strings faster than hair and the sound they produce is pretty uneven. They're cheaper though. <_< But as far as I've read, most cellists and fiddlers of any appreciable skill use real hair.
