Following!

Edit: I'll check my settings when I get home. Maybe I've got something screwy in there, like "no PMs". I'm not blocking anybody.

Haven't had a chance to read yet, Danny... but FYI, your HTML has a bunch of the Word meta code  embedded in the HTML when it shows up on my dash.  Looks like good stuff. (I'm r2smuse, I suppose, obviously... ;))

Yeah, the html code shows up in the dash/likes section, not when on your tumblr page itself though.

LOL Go to your dashboard or directly to your blog, and click the edit button on your post. Then in the text edit window, click on the HTML button which will show you the code of your post. From what I can see, it's just before the first Warden pic and then again at the start of the paragraph that begins: "Who could that be?" The bad code starts with < !

(ooh... just skimming through, tho, the Chantry and the Inquisition were never made into one... the Inquisition submitted to the Chantry under the Nev. Accord and became the Seekers and the Templars...)

1. Hopefully that helped the codeing, ty for the advice :D

2. Well thats what I meant, the Chantry and Inquisition signed the accord essentially dissolving the Inquisition or assimilating it and remaking it into the Templars/Seekers. Do I have to be clearer, wording wrong or is it just wrong?

1. NP!
2. I just thought that one sentence was... confusing... particularly since do you have mergings and divisions going on with the Inquisition... but none involving the Chantry as an institution... [anyhoo, prob just me being picky since I've written a lot of very careful text about the Inquisition in creating its wiki page...]

It can't possibly be the DA3 one- I'm almost positive you were one of the first people having a fit about being an inquisitor and how if we were you wouldn't play it.  Just sayin'.

Ser Otto. One of my absolute favorite non-joinable NPCs. I haven't read the one about DA3.

So I have a rather serious question for you guys that sort of striking home for me, or at the very least discussion over it hurts me because people are acting very callous in their delivery which might just be my overreacting or something. Ignore me if this makes you uncomfortable or if you want me to take it down I will.
So obviously the Maker is a big deal to Andrastians and there are people who believe in him and there are those who don't which is fine obviously, it's a game after all. But depending on your irl beliefs there can be some rather hurtful things said either way. This isn't to make anyone look bad or to force someone to change their beliefs so forgive me if it sounds that way and I'm open to anyone telling STFU.
I recently came across a thread on the Dragon Age wiki called, "do you believe in the maker" which my gut automatically said "this won't end well", "don't look", "danny boy, don't look!" because it can get a bit personal, either side of the argument gets heated and words are flung that shouldn't be flung.
Now to be clear I'm not a fan of either side of the argument. I don't really believe in moral superiority and in the end no side can be absolutely sure so left out of conversation tends to be my preferred...strategy I guess. I'd rather not bring it up at all than to make someone uncomfortable. And once again I apologize for this I will delete it the minute you guys say so I just need to vent.
In this thread it gets as...hurtful as you can imagine but I'm not going to post and tell them STFU or whatever because that is their beliefs and I have no right to scream they are wrong, no right to censure them and just all around no right to say anything negative because how can I do that and then expect someone to respect my beliefs right? That'd make me a hypocrite and I'd rather get behind an atheist who respects others beliefs than a Christian who is intolerant of other's beliefs and uses their beliefs as a soap box to spread that hate/intolerance.
I'm not even sure why I started this post I'm on the verge of tears because I wish that we could simply get along, to disagree but respect another's beliefs because fighting over something like this only hurts people in the long run. I guess my point is am I overreacting and simply need to toughen up a bit or should we as posters try and avoid bringing up certain conversations in the interest of respect towards other's beliefs. I mean they are gonna come up, but should we avoid straight out calling one group idiots/suckers etc and when someone does act like that treat them as an individual and not a spokesperson for their chosen belief set.

I'm just looking for advice I guess. Sorry for bringing it up...I'm just very tender right now.

My only advice would be to just avoid those certain topics, if people can't behave in a mature and civilized manner...which is almost always when it comes to the internet. Religion is a hot button issue wherever you go, so for the most part when it gets brought up in an environment where one can spew hate and bigotry with little to no consequence, it's very hard for anyone to keep things civil. If you do decide you wish to discuss it in an open way where anyone can join in the discussion, you're kinda forced to grow a thick skin. I'm sorry that it is upsetting you, and I can understand your desire to be able to engage in a deep discussion about something that seems very important to you, but in all honesty, it's really just not worth it (in my eyes) to expose yourself to that kind of negativity.

Bold - I'm actually one of the rare Christian's who respects other people's belief. Not all of us jump on a soap box...

For the rest, I am also saddened by it as well. I wish people could set aside there differences and get along.

On a related note: I actually "believe in the Maker" in Dragon Age not because I'm a Christian irl, but because we had to get Andrastate's ashes, and they really did cure Arl Eamon....

It perplexes me when people bring up religion, or even when the question "Who do you support, mages or templars?" gets brought up. I don't understand what a narrative has to do with one's own personal beliefs, but in any case...

I am agnostic, so arguing over religion just makes me chuckle. But of course everyone has his/her "sensitive issue"; just start talking sh!t about women, LGBT, or POC and I will be unable to resist jumping into the fray, hackles raised and flag of righteous indignation raised to the winds.

But it is pointless. I don't even know who these people are... there's no point in engaging them in conversation. I don't really "know" you guys, but we share similar interests (DA, Cullen, gaming) and we are all nice people, so it is worth my while to come here and chat with you all.

What do I gain from engaging trolls... nothing that's what. Agree with Nikki: avoid them.

And you are not too sensitive; you are a human being, which is sometimes less than what these trolls appear to be.

*Creeps out of the shadows*

Don't worry about it, everyone needs to vent sometimes. I'm not entirely sure what your question is, because I suck hard at comprehension skills, but I'm guessing it's something along the lines of "Why are we all such dillholes to each other?"

Well unfortunately, as much as I hate to admit it, there is always going to be injustice in the world. Everyone is going to have an opinion, and someone else is going to dislike said opinion and even go as far as to be violent towards that person. Society isn't fair, it never has been and it never will be.

I was raised as a Catholic, I've gone through reconciliation and confirmation and all those other ceremonies, but even so, I don't agree with a lot of the things in Catholicism, or any religion for that matter. In my honest opinion, I believe there is someone... or something bigger out there, whether it's just the one person or multiple, doesn't matter.
I also think there is an afterlife, and that's where you are truly judged. You can go through your life being a dick, and even if you manage to get away with it during life, when you die you go to hell or whatever the equivalent of a bad afterlife is.

This may sound stupid to some, but I don't care, I'm gonna tell you anyway. I think the afterlife is where the true justice lies, that nothing anyone can say or do will ever bring fairness and equality. I mean, for example, say someone is ruling the world and is forcing everyone to be peaceful, key word "forcing". If you force an opinion on people, just or not, that in itself is injustice for taking away the will of free speech.

And uhh, in DA, I'd say that multiple Gods exist there too, I think that the Dread Wolf and all them elven Creators and whatnot coexist with the Maker. But I do think that the Chantry is a bunch of balls. They talk about spreading peace then they judge and subjugate others? dat. logic. Though it does remind me of like, homophobic Christians. Maybe the developers were trying to spread a message? The world is a mysteeerious place, my friend.

But frak, man, if I'm completely off track then sorry for uh... mis...con-- not understanding good. Anyway, that's my two cents. Or ten. Sorry for the huge rant.

*Returns to the shadows*

You're right and thanks for putting up with the question. Honestly I don't want to have huge deep conversations about the subject with anyone, despite the question. I just wish it didn't come up on the DAwiki as much as it does. For the most part I can deal with trolls, just stupid people saying stupid things, but when confronted with the subject in the way that it is how do I disagree with them without attacking their beliefs? I mean just because I don't agree with them doesn't mean they are wrong.

Maybe I should block the site in order to take away the temptation to get involved with conversations I know will hurt me.

Again ty nikki I'm just hurting and needed someone to talk to and you guys are the most understanding group I've ever met so why not you guys?

Crap I broke a nail.

As a caveat, I would love to talk about religion in DA. What are "the gods"? What is The Maker? Is this a deity as we understand the term? Or is it simply a higher being? Does it/Did it really exist? In a world infused with magic, it can be easy to confuse "magic" for "miracle" (i.e. "Andraste's" ashes). I guess religion is what the writers make of it, though they haven't really revealed much. Impossible to come to any definitive conclusion at this point, I think.

I do think many players who are Western (or Westernized) monotheists have a tendency to accept The Maker as a canon deity but yet discount the Dalish pantheon as mere mythology.

Ohh... I kind of want to write a paper on that xD
