LOL guys! OK, so to get some slightly more Cullen-oriented thinking going, I followed up on yesterday's discussion about Cullen being the steady, best-friend type of LI as opposed to the fiery, drama-laden one.
So, first, as usual, I couldn't help but create a new banner ( do we drink yesterday, when the idea was posed? Or now that I've shared it?)
Second, in creating it, I made a sorta cute, not quite up to littlenikki standards, photomanip of our favorite steady templar. Stepping right out of the J Crew catalog, I give you nice-guy!Cullen. LOL Take THAT one home to meet your folks.
This reminds me of this tumblr I stumbled upon yesterday lol: http://yourllbeanboyfriend.tumblr.com/

"Wow, I'm beat from that meeting with the Board," C3 said, setting down his briefcase in the foyer and stretching. "Why don't we stay in and I'll make some coq au vin. Your mother sent me the recipe."

Aw, Danny, no worries. Girls do like nice guys but it's ... complicated. In short, those are the ones we end up with. LOL Then later we find out... they're not as nice as we thought. It all works out.Danny Boy 7 wrote...

If they're shallow enough to overlook considerate behavior in favor of more exciting charms, they aren't nice. Plus, do you really want somebody like that?Danny Boy 7 wrote...

That's because they're mad. Someone would have to have a few issues if they're actively looking for "bad boys", I mean, who in their right mind wants to be treated like sh!t by their partner? Balls to that, I'd rather be with a decent guy!

@R2 So to totally take you out of context (we're the ones settled on
@berelinde I think any bitterness on my part (which admittedly is very low at this point due to hearing it over and over and having to...turn down someone. It's just...sometimes it feels like a cop-out answer but in hindsight tis pretty funny.
Girl#1: You're a nice guy and someone would be lucky to have you....but
Girl#2: You're going to make someone very happy one day. but your a nice guy and I'm not a nice girl...
Girl#311: You're a nice guy I'm sure someone will go with you to prom!!
Me: Da fuq does someone have a universal handbook for breaking my heart?!?!
It's funny how much I used to be broken up over it, now I just let the ladies come to me *sun glasses* heh heh
But in all seriousness I think all I wanted back then was to feel attractive. Not the best reason to get into a relationship, but I'd hope someone would see the inner me and love me for that. But you gotta love yourself before someone else will right?
@Lola: I'm totally into the courting thing and feel like I was born in the wrong century. Sneaking kisses while our parents weren't looking, Showering them with presents simply because I could. Helping them out of carriages and basically being the knight in shining armor...not that I don't appreciate a strong woman...just I'd like her to be a little weak for me. If that makes sense?

For me the people I had no idea what they would sound like were the elves Merrill and Fenris since in Merrill's case I had never heard a Welsh accent (to my knowledge at least) and Fenris I half expected to sound like Zevran, not BE Zevran mind you but I linked him to Zevran because they are both male elves and Fenris had that smirk that said Antivan to me.
I LOVE welsh accents now because of Merrill and Fenris's voice is kind of bad ass to me that when I was watching a video of the beggining of Skyrim I was like....that guy driving me to my death is Fenris and totally missed the first bit of dialogue.
I was a little sad that they didn't keep Greg Ellis as Anders in DA2 but I think Adam Howden did really well, especially those initial scenes. He made Anders feel dangerous. game him that sense of power that funny Anders just doesn't have in my opinion he is funny but sometimes I suspect it's because the lines are funny rather than him bringing them alive. He did make it believable for me to imagine that he used to be this aloof humorous mage and is now this tortured soul looking for both freedom and redemption.

I once had a friend who habitually rejected offers from any number of highly eligible guys. One of them, in particular, deserved a lot better from her. He wasn't particularly talkative, but he was considerate and entertaining in a quiet way. He also looked like he should be modeling underwear. Sexy underwear. He had a good job, his own house, and a vintage muscle car. Even after she told him she only wanted to be friends, he continued to shower her with attention and kindness. I asked her why she rejected him (I would have been interested myself, were I not already in a committed relationship). She came up with a lot of reasons, but ultimately, it was because he was not a wealthy professional. And she preferred fair-skinned men. Eventually, he realized that she was taking advantage of him and discontinued their friendship. And then he got married. She badmouthed him pretty much constantly after that. That wasn't the incident that ended my friendship with her, but it was certainly a contributing factor.
The moral of the story: Half of any relationship is outside your control. If the other half isn't there, you're better off finding somebody who appreciates you.

Hey here's a quick question....since unlike Origins we didn't have character videos regarding the companions/followers etc did the voice in your head match up with the voice of the character and were you pleasantly surprised or a little bit disappointed with the voices?

Ander's voice actor was fantastic. Same with Fenris. I liked Merrill's voice actoress too....I just don't like Merrill (Hides behind rock

I never went for the "cheerleaders" myself even as a jock (sophmore to junior year) because I was much more attracted to the perky happy girls or people I had fun spending time with. Luckily my school didn't really have social clicks, some people were more popular than others but it wasn't strange to see the jocks with the "geeks" or the quarterback dating the goth girl. We were united in a common hatred of the cafeteria food!
I like that song...well I like a parody of that song by Ryan Higa.

I was dating this one guy many years ago that I thought "Yeah! I finally found a nice one!" .... until I overheard him referring to me as his "white trophy". True story.berelinde wrote...
Chemistry is an amazing thing. It can make you head over heels over the most unsuitable person imaginable... and it can make you say "You're a nice guy, but..." to somebody who deserves better. Sometimes, it's nobody's fault. Sometimes, the other person needs to calibrate their attractometers.

Danny, the only VO I had a hard time listening to was f!Hawke. Something about her voice must've hit a frequency that made my eyeballs shiver in a bad way.
