I imagine they HAVE to pick one but they'll make it a bit ambiguous so we'll be wondering up until release or until someone finds the outfit the trailer version is wearing. I'd like a rogue as it was quite fun to play as in DA2 if a little over the top for my tastes but I wonder if it'll be like the Destiny or Calling trailers (either expunging the entire story or only the bare details respectively).
I'm also wondering how the specializations will work for the Rogue class. I mean Blood Mage and Templar are kind of self explanatory, maybe Assassin, but Shadow, Ranger, Duelist etc don't really have a bearing in the war. Maybe Shadow because of the Shadows of the Empire codex (if the setting is mainly in Orlais which we haven't had confirmed or denied)
One thing on a different topic though is I hope that Pride Demons go back to being extremely difficult, like fighting a high dragon, they are afterall supposed to be these nightmarish things that droves of templars have had trouble defeating and I'd like that to be reflected.
I kind of like a trailer like this -
www.youtube.com/watch - gives a bit of snap shot of the game. I did prefer the Calling trailer to the Destiny trailer though.
Re Rogues, if the setting is in Orlais, then the Bard specialism will fit in as will the the Assassin specialism ('cause their nobles are a crafty lot and they like their spies).
I cannot see how a Ranger will fit it with an Orlais setting, unless the setting is more open world and bigger than before. I haven't used the Shadow specialism yet so I can't comment on that one (I've yet to do a full playthrough on DA2 as a rogue)! I think the developers will think up at least one or two new specialisms.
Yes, you are right about the Pride Demons in DA2, they're supposed to be Boss enemies. I remember the one in Blackmarsh in DA:A and he was quite tricky.
