If we are thrust into a position of power from the outset, then I hope that we're at least completely new to it so that we can openly voice our noob-ness lol. I think it would be kinda odd for an RPG to hand us a character that's already in a position of power, since the whole idea is supposed to be about growing your from an average joe to someone noteworthy etc. It worked for Shep in ME3 because we'd spent 2 previous games turning him/her into the ultimate badass, but even Shep was just another crew mate (despite his/her noteworthy background) before he/she touched the beacon.

Yeah I played ME3 without playing the other two, and although I LOVED that game, Shep? I felt no connection to that guy. He was already on the top of the world and everyone worshiped him. Boooring lol

From what I can tell DA3 will be more tactical, so maybe it'll strike a balance between DA:O and DA2's combat system?

I also like my games a little slower paced, in terms of getting the option to faff around a bit first in the general area, scope things out and then go do said fighting based quest or whatever.

I don't know, I guess I also prefer being someone in power. That's like me playing those Total War strategy games. I'm the commander and I build my empire. The sense of accomplishment in those games is frigging awesome. When I play a campaign that lasts me for 3 months(yes, they last that long for me lol), then I look back on the empire I built, man is it awesome. I like it when I get to the point where my empire is so vast that my biggest rival is some meager country who can barely feed their people. Then I overwhelm them with stacks of elite armies. It's freaking awesome.

Like I said, it really depends on how Bioware executes something like that. I could see it having a lot of potential if they do it right. That's assuming they even do it, which we don't really know if they will. If I'm running around in DA3 with authority and my power is influenced throughout the world and you can easily see it, that's a compromise I'm willing to accept.

Let's face it, a big problem in Bioware games lately is how choices actually have weight behind them. I could see so much potential at choices impacting your world being a key character in power. I would gladly take that over building my character up on the lowly totem pole.

Yeah, that's why you need to try the first 2 lol. In ME1 everyone thinks your mental and laughs at you, even after beating a reaper and in ME2 everyone hates your because you have no choice but to align yourself with the secondary bad guy LOL!

Yea, me too. I'm a completionist. If a game takes 20-hours to complete, I'll finish it in 40. I have to explore every corner in games like this.

It appears your right about the combat. See the 3:15 mark.

Preparation(sounds like DAO), positioning(he talks about elevation, another major advantage of Frostbite), and teamwork. Hmm.

LOL Yes and at the beginning of ME3 Shep goes to talk to the Council or whatever it is, and they're all, Reapers, what Reapers?! You must be cray-cray, boy! And even I am like, oh please, that is so a sign for these "Reapers" to immediately attack and the sh!t to hit the fan. And sure enough...!

Deuce: Kinda brings back memories of Fable 3. It started out awesome, someone of influence being forced into hiding and having to build up your own following to usurp your "evil" brother from the throne, it was turning the whole "rags to riches" thing on its head... But then you become King/Queen of Albino and the game gets really effin' boring. I'd hate DA3 to fall to the same fate.

However, if the survey leak is indeed fake and we'll be against the Inquisition instead, then I hope DA3 will be more than just about Mages and Templars. Ideally, that plot line would serve as a way to keep us busy until the real threat suddenly hit us without warning.

Which is how I thought the game might play out, prior to the survey leak. There we are dealing with the Mage/Templar issue in Orlais, whilst trying to stop the civil war and then about midway through the game BAM! Massive explosion, the veil rips open and all the abominations pour out, forcing us to try to reunite people to beat this new problem. I thought maybe Corypheus might have something to do with it too. But if the leak is legit, then it sounds like all that is gonna happen at the beginning of the game in a cutscene.

I think that's how it will go. Someone will try to exploit the turmoil in Thedas. It would make sense for a country like Tevinter Imperium to rise again. They have every reason to weaken Orlais since they have the Imperial Chantry and Black Divine.

Maybe Morrigan/Flemeth's plot will play a major part too. Maybe Morrigan went through the Eluvian mirror and if the leaked survey is correct, then she's responsible for the Veil being ripped in Thedas causing chaos. It's speculated the Eluvians are what the Magisters used to corrupt the Maker's kingdom.

Possibly. I think I'd be a bit gutted if the whole game was about stopping wars between different countries or having to fight them on the battlefield etc lol.

I do quite like the sound of the two survey leaks. The idea of something (rather than someone) pulling the strings behind the scenes, unleashing a plague of demons and abominations into Thedas etc sounds very intriguing. Although it could easily be an elaborate hoax, I mean, it's not that hard to make an educated guess about DA3's plot based on what we know from the previous two games.

I wonder if we'll be communicating with people via those sending stone thingys mentioned in the Asunder novel? Those could be handy!

I am with you 100% there. It sounds too much like wargaming.

In my perfect game scenario, the PC's participation in the Inquisition is irrelevent because that mysterious Big Bad pulling the strings is using the current political/religious war to destabilize Thedas. The protagonist, regardless of political or religious affiliations has to stop it. In my perfect game, gaining allies improves your chances of beating the Big Bad, but it would be great if you could beat it without recruiting all of them, mining every planet, or participating in arena combat.

Basically this. I'd like the war at large to be sort of framework and the gathering of armies or rescources could be similar to Mass Effect 2's loyalty system but instead of just gaining their loyalty once you have to do it twice, i.e. your choices during the recruiting mission might cause you to lose that asset but if you gained their pledge you might lose them if you say sent aid to another settlement you felt was more crucial to the endgame. In my perfect game your ending would be varied beyond which side you chose, who died and whether they were hardened or not. I don't want the wars to be the main story I want this game to be more investigatory, with Battle of Redcliffe missions to be sure but also All That Remains's quests where we're hunting down leads or sabotaging treaties in order to better the outcome of our own plans.

Kristen Stewart? I think she's cute. I mean, she's not hot or anything but definitely cute. I like her plain look in the Twilight movies as Bella. She seems like she fits that role well. Although, I'm definitely not a Twilight fan. I attempted to read the first book and it was literature disaster. Ugh.

Hunger Games is another mainstream book and it's easy to read like Twilight. But it's certainly much better than Twilight. The movie isn't that great but Jennifer Lawrence I adore. I think she's a great actress and takes a mediocre movie and actually makes it watchable. I liked her in Winter's Bone too, she was amazing in that movie.

I just don't understand it...when I first saw him as Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter, I was like "meh" Still stayed unimpressed with his severely photoshopped movie posters and unkempt look in every single tabloid magazine. He's not ugly or anything, just something about his face irks me. This woman's reaction seems a bit harsh however...
