That's a great start! Those are totally his eyes!

Thanks I'm afraid I'm going to ruin the picture by overshadowing; I'm having trouble with the nose too ><.  I'm hoping though that the shading will turn out like this picture, only in number 2 pencil and a little messier

Thats so strange! A page back I was talking about how there should be a scene I'm DA3 where the main character is locked up in a dungeon/jail tortured and about to be raped but Cullen saves her, then I read this and it's remarkably similar, great minds! Go have a look, there are a few differences like Cullen being locked up in the cell next to her though.

Have you noticed that they turned off anonymous posting? I suspect it was me that contributed heavily to that, I sent loads of Cullen confessions the other day, they were all about different aspects but they must have cottoned on that it was sent by one person LOL!

I can see it, but usually can't tell what it says. I find the new captcha horrible! I keep having to use the audio option to figure out what the letters are.

Sadly, I won't be able to do more for a while. Scrambling to prepare for traveling tomorrow. And, anything with Merrill will be more difficult since I don't know if I have any save games around where I can romance her. I've always avoided her like the plague. :shudder: I may have one where I accidentally flipped her switch once... we'll see if I have a save around then. Prob not til next week, tho.

I was thinking of possible ways in which Cullen might be introduced as a companion in DA3, I'd considered all the ones we've previously come up with but then I thought about that Asunder novel and how much of a jerk that Lord Seeker was, perhaps Cullen ends up summoned by him to join up with the rebel Templar cause because they think he'd be a handy resource given his predjudice towards Mages after the events of DA:O, but he refuses to join them after realising his attitude was wrong in DA2. They have him locked up and imprisioned/tortured along with the Mages they've caught and other thieves, murderers etc. Our PC is also locked up (either for being a Mage or stealing, fighting etc) you then take control as you use different tatics to escape, along the way you run into Cullen who also escaped, so you team up to battle your way to freedom. Alternatively maybe he could be in the cell next to yours and you've both witnessed each other getting tortured etc, one night you are awoken by Cullen releasing you from your shackles, he tells you that you're both busting out of there as you look over to see the bodies of 2 guards knocked out cold. From there he tells you he needs to find the Divine and asks you to accompany him as another witness/victim of Lord Seekers crimes (and for a Mages point of view if you play as one.)

What do you guys think?

I actually started writing my fic Origins of a new Beginning way before I started to write Mage of a Circle. But seeing as how I want Origins to be wayyyyyy longer, I've been spending more time on it.

I'm still just amazed that we think that much alike lol:lol:

Lol crazy isn't it! I'd love for that sort of scenario to be an introduction to Cullen in DA3, it would also make a nice change for a companion to save the PC's arse for once, especially a companion that I could see becoming a plot heavy romance (like Alistair/Morrigan/Anders/Isabela were in the first two games.)

Has anyone else noticed that this is one of the only NPC discussion threads that the developers have never been involved in or commented on? And not just this particular Cullen thread - I mean they almost never talk about him anywhere else where he's brought up in discussion either.

At first I thought it was just because they were afraid of the rabid Cullen fans or that they were trying to avoid the *squee* but given how many of the lady devs are rumored to be huge Cullen fans you'd think it would make sense for them to join in on the party and have fun with it. Especially if there were no danger of giving anything away.

I think it means they're going to use him and they don't want to make it obvious.
Not wishful thinking here - I really think that's what's going on.

Funnily enough I mentioned this on here a few weeks ago, they even commented on the "Cole for companion in DA3" and he's not even in any of the games! I don't think they have ever mentioned anything about Cullen since DA2 came out (aside from some of the devs being surprised he's so popular.)

It certainly makes you wonder if he is in the pipelines as a companion/LI... Come to think of it, they say very little about Cassandra even though we saw her concept art in her Seeker outfit.

Not all Templars are these heartless bastards who would happily torture mages, that's not true, there are Templars who are good people. I think Cullen is a good man who recognizes that there are dangerous in magic, dangers that have to be dealt with, but he doesn't lack for compassion and doesn't try to say "Well, let's take the hard approach and kill everybody and let the Maker sort them out." At the end of DA2 he's the person who sort of tries to put on the brakes, the voice of sanity if you will. I think that's important to represent, so in that respect I like the idea of Cullen reappearing, I like that element of his character, so it's definitely a possibility."

I try not to pay too much attention to interviews, I can never tell if they are hinting, talking hypotheticals or just telling the interviewer what they want to hear.

I think these are the 3 key things that got me thinking that it's VERY possible that he most likely will be a companion, if not have A MAJOR part in DA3, like Flemeth has on the first two.

I have to agree, that I was also thinking, that one of the reasons devs don't pop up in here is very much because they would like to avoid giving anything away.

Cullen to me, has the potential to be a fallen hero.

And yes it would be nice to see the main get rescued for once lol:wizard:
