It does actually! Oh! I got a DA2 strategy guide for Christmas and it's cover looks exactly like Cassandra's Seeker book. I haven't had a decent look through it yet, but Cullen's mini codex says something like "The Templar tortured at the hands of Uldred is now enjoying a promotion" LOL.

Ah, nice! I wonder at their choice of the verb "enjoying." LOL

You remind me what a nice addition that book might be. You'll have to double check my (quoted from some forum) text from the epilogue that name checks the Inquisition... noting how WE REALLY SHOULD HAVE EXPECTED IT...! (/rimshot ...yeah... at least I crack myself up! LOL)

EPILOGUE FROM STRATEGY GUIDE, P. 271
In closing Hawk story, Varric reflects on his friendship legacy. We learn that the champion has since vanished or else the dwarf has no desire to let on what he knows.

So what does the future hold? The mage/templar crisis has drawn battle lines, setting the scene for rebellion and persecution. Religious purges and expurgation from the Chantry, but news of Kirkwall may incite other circles to rise up in revolt.

Perhaps more intriguing, is there a reason why Hawk is now gone, like the Warden, as revealed by Cassandra in the final scenes? Do the Champion and the Hero of Ferelden have more in common than we know? And what do the mysterious seekers of truth have to do with this? Will some kind of inquisition be at the heart of events of the next Dragon Age title?

Finally, is it safe to speculate that Morrigan may play a major role in future events? Flemeth cryptic explanation for her journey to Sundermount (A bit of security should the inevitable occur. And if I know my Morrigan, it has already has.) may refer to the Warden battle with Witch of the wilds--or perhaps, an artfully conjured facsimile--at her furious daughters behest. Flemeth, less we forget, was discovered to have achieved a form of immorality by periodically appropriating the bodies of numerous daughters throughout her history. Then again, with Morrigan carrying a child infused with the spirit of the archdemon in one likely narrative eventually, it could be so much more...

I'll check it out when I get home and report back, maybe it'll throw in some hints here and there.

Ooh! I have that too, it's cool looking isn't it? Somewhere at the end they write something about there being an Inquisition after the events of the 2nd game, it's really nifty :P

This is cool. Bioware Blog posted an excerpt on Thedosian Holidays from the upcoming encyclopedia.

http://blog.bioware....osian-holidays/

It builds on the month info that they included in the strategy guide. Useful!

EDIT: D'aww and this is cute. Bioware just posted this from the same artist as the Cullen-Merril pic, obviously.

D'oh. That's weird... and disconcerting that you could actually end up in someone else's account! Hope it's fixed.

Here's a question for all of you...btw merry xmas and all that...i just got 100$ worth of gift certificates to ebgames...should I wait for DA3 announcement and use it as my payment option...or should I go ahead and rebuy all the dragon age games for pc...just incase DA3 will be for the new xbox console?

Well, it will be bit of a wait for DA3, so if you're feeling impatient I'd go for the PC buys. You should be able to find a bundle for cheap, and playing with mods can make it a whole new experience.

Yeah, I'd go for the PC versions of DA:O & DA2 for the mods 'n' stuff.

Agree that if DA3 comes out in 2014, that's a loooong time to not use your gift. Hmm, I'm not sure I quite understand why you'd want to rebuy the old games, but I'm a PC-only gamer so it's likely I'm missing something. Is it for the mods or are you worried DA3 won't be compatible with your past saves? I'd expect them to do something more clever with regard to import this time around, so you may not need them. If you already have the games, then I'd go buy something new with your awesome gift Yay!

Our honor has been defended...er I think. I have successfully forayed into the untamed land of DA3Forums and returned unscathed.

On a more serious note. How in the hell do you go from Anora to Cullen? I mean the two literally have nothing to do with one another. It's because their blonde isn't it? I think people bring it up just to derail threads nowadays. They seem to believe that because we like him we have somehow conquered the will of the writer's pit and forced them into submission. I'm over exaggerating mind you, but without a confirmation people seem to think that 1. He's in and 2. Our interest in him has somehow made him irresistible in the eyes of the writers.

If he shows up at all it's because the writers wanted HIM there above anyone else and because the story needed/would improve because of him.

Anyway /end rant....er Hope everyone had a good Christmas/Holiday.

Egad, is there another hate thread??  Maker preserve us. Anora issues flared on tumblr recently, so that could be a reason she showed up. *sigh*

In other, more positive news, I saw an interesting possible spoiler on someone's inclusion in DA3 on tumblr.

Not a hate thread but it seems any mention of Cullen is now our fault. Any possibility is our fault. And it's disgusting anyone would want him as a companion.

It's the Anora Needs to be a Companion thread.

He dead in mine so I won't get to see him, but it sounds like we'll probably encounter him in some Wardeny fashion since he replaces Alistair... Which means we'll probably get to see Alistair again in DA3 if you killed Loghain. I'm cool with that, so long as they don't kill him or split up from my Warden. My Warden better not be dead either or I'll fetch my pitchfork!

As for the Anora thread, I just had a quick read through and your post was perfect Danny. It's ridiculous that people are raging that Cullen MUST be a companion for sure, just because he has a dedicated fanbase... Then they have the audacity to blame us for Anora possibly being a companion (which is highly unlikely) just because they believe that the fangirls (and boys) always get there way.

We should turn that into a banner: "Blame the Cullen fans"

That's really weird Lola. Maybe you should tell Chris or one of the mods when they get back from vacation.

I agree on the Alistair part though I wonder even more now who that Warden who showed up with Cass in that armor presentation is. I mean I'm personally hoping he is a Warden from the Anderfels with a german accent...which is what I imagine they sound like :P

Side question though. Are any of you worried about ages?

It only seems to do it when I log on using my phone as well. It's been ever since they done that update.

I'm wondering if maybe he's taken over command whilst our Warden is AWOL (or dead). It would be kinda cool getting the Warden's on side for this new threat whilst playing as the new protagonist/Inquisitor, it would be interesting dealing with them from the outside this time round.

As for the age of companions, do you mean people like Cass and Cullen who are already getting a bit long in the tooth? Or previous companions/characters like Alistair and our Warden who probably aren't far off their calling?

Idk what to tell ya I'm not tech savvy :(.

I'd imagine either he, Nathaniel or Stroud have take over as Warden Commander though Nathaniel might simply have been prominent in the Free Marches because he's been there before. It reminds me of when I was posting about who I expected to show up in DA2. I said Nathaniel when I'd heard the Free Marches.

Any people I think are cameos I'm fine with getting a little older/showing a bit of aging, but Cass and Cullen...it might be odd running around with people who either don't age or are LI's in their later thirties know what I mean? I'm fine with suspending belief when it comes to ages but when do we draw the line?

OMG, Lola, that's totally weird. It can't be just you... you should definitely PM someone about it!

Ugh... will not go into Anora thread... will not go into Anora thread... Kudos to you Danny for ably defending us! Jeez louise.

On Loghain, gosh, I have no idea. It would be cool to have a side quest with him if he were to be alive. I'm increasingly more intrigued by him after some of the fic I've read. Certainly more so than the one-dimensional evilness I always ascribed to him in my playthroughs.

On ages... if you mean some characters getting too old, no I'm not too worried. My only former concern would be an advanced character being reset at the PC's low level when they become a companion, but they did same with Anders and that was no big deal. On the Calling... I think Alistair and our Warden have quite a few more years before the Calling. I think DG once clarified (in that Thedas UK interview) that it was longer than we were led to believe by some unclear dialogue in DA:O.

edit: "where do we draw the line?" Danny, this makes me giggle that thirties is suddenly SO old. LOL Wynne was more advanced than that as a companion, altho granted, not a LI. I think they just need to make a good argument for why someone more experienced is following a n00b, like they did with Alistair. As for romancing someone older than PC?? Bring it on! ;)

Depends how well they age I guess. I mean, I know people in there mid-30's who still look about 25-26ish. One good thing about the Dragon Age games is that they never tell you the age of the companions in-game so they can always add or take away a couple of years if they want. We know DA3 is gonna take place after the events of Asunder, which took place two years after DA2 (I think), so my guess is DA3 will either take place directly after Asunder or a year after, which will mean Cass and Cullen are still in there early to mid-30's.

... Woah, that song I used for my Cullen's Inner Turmoil video is on TV for the horse racing lol, odd choice of track but all that's going through my head is clips from the vid LOL. Ha! And the commentators name is Alistair! Must be a sign LOL!

Thanks, I try. I got the person to apologize so I take it as a win.

As to the ages I agree I mean honestly I wouldn't have brought it up if it weren't for Fast Jimmy, but some seem to think that 40's are a no go area for romances. Idk maybe they don't like significant age gaps if the chars are in their mid twenties *shrugs*. He seems to think that Cullen's age is enough of a reason for his exclusion let alone Anora who would be in her forties by now.

I honestly am indifferent towards Anora though I seem to be making waves for the sake of making them...which may be bad on my part, but some people are going like, "She's a manipulative beo-tch, cold hearted blah blah" and I'm sort of thinking to myself, "...isn't that like half of our companions when we first get them?"

I don't mind older companions in fact I hope that Warden we see is in his late forties early fifties I just want to know when we age the characters? All at the same time or at certain moments?

DA3 commeth :bandit:

P.S. We really need an acronym (right word) for Dragon Age 3. I mean it's technically DAIII: I or DA3: I which is weird.
