Couldn't resist. Read it. Very well done, Danny!! Very respectful and yet convincing!

EDIT: And speaking of fan service (not that we were!), here's a pic for almost-top of page.

Well we made it past the end of the world and the holidays! We're fast approaching the time for some DA3 news, think we've earned it.

P.S. We really need an acronym (right word) for Dragon Age 3. I mean it's technically DAIII: I or DA3: I which is weird.

Good point. I'd probably vote for just DA3, since that already exists in the lexicon, or DAI, without the (arabic) numbers and whatever. While it might look like the first, that's not what anyone actually called origins, right? Hmm, on second thought, maybe just DA3 or Inquisition, like we say either DA:O or Origins.

Heh, luckily, not our problem. :D

Yup! This went rather quickly, and here I thought I would have a fuzzy white beard by now.

As I stare at that picture for what I'm sure is much longer than necessary, was it ever explained what those brown necklaces were for?

Wasn't it something to do with the heads and bodies being created separately and you could see where they join together or something?

Um, because it looks sexy?  Umm... I mean, what Lola said!  Of course! :D I don't know that I've ever heard anything official.

Maybe we could ask? Who made the bodies in DA2?

Something I wonder about the possibility of Cullen becoming a romancable companion, is what will happen to all the on going fan-fiction about him and the Warden/Hawke lol. Obviously people can easily carry them on as a "alternative universe" thing, but if a Cullen/DA3 protagonist romance is an option then Cullen fans would (in theory) jump at the chance to finally sex him up, in which case, that particular pairing would surely end up feeling more natural since we'd actually get to see it play out in-game and his romance arc would obviously be tailor made for our new protagonist.

I think if Cullen is an LI in DA3 then all those Cullen/Warden Cullen/Hawke fanfics and fan art are gonna end up feeling really un-natural/odd to me lol. It's actually kinda amazing how many people love the whole Warden/Cullen romance concept, I'm always stumbling upon fan art of that particular pairing.

Lol it wasn't the Cullen fans that pissed them off, it's the haters that keep talking about him. Either way, it throws Cullen as a character into the spotlight, which might help swing things in favour of a companion role.

I used to worry about what's canon or not when I first started reading fanfic, but you know, what I find is, a good story is a good story. Take Crisium's Amell/Cullen stories. They don't match my headcanon at all (and in fact, I sorta despise Amell+Cullen as a 'ship), they don't match what happened in DA2 at all, but it doesn't really take away from them being good stories. I think some folks will keep right on writing and reading them, whereas some folks will now avoid "AU" stories.

Also,, most fanfic  play with the game canon a bit anyway, since you sort of have to. For example, I have a soon to be published story that still says Cullen doesn't have a last name. Not gonna change it now! I have another, post-DA2 story in progress that at this rate won't be done til closer to when DA3 comes out, but I'm not gonna scrap it just because I know that's not what really happens next. Esp since I happen to think it's a kick@ss story! It's just like the potato wagon speculation we do here on the thread. It's all in good fun, to play in the BW sandbox.

Plus, I think even if you get to romance Cullen in  DA3, there are so many ways you could probably do it, that you'll likely have your one main headcanon, but otherwise, there are still lots of variations probably even within your own playthroughs. Seems to me that's the cool thing about  him being an RPG character. Anything goes!

Ah, that makes sense. When I first started playing Origins I was convinced it was because my Warden was wearing her initiation amulet from Alistair :P

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'd still read and enjoy them even after playing DA3 and (hypothetically) romancing Cullen, but I tend to go a bit OTP with my romances, so once I've made up my mind about who my protagonist belongs with (my Warden/Alistair and my male pro-mage Hawke/Anders) then I find it odd to read about them with anyone else, so once I've played DA3 and (hypothetically) seen Cullen and my new protagonist all loved up and (hopefully) together permanently then I'll find it really weird to imagine him with any previous protagonists that we've played as, if that makes sense?

Oh yeah! I see what you mean, as in, will DA3  now reset our brains as far as our preferred OTP? LOL I wouldn't be surprised! I've done so much thinking about Hawke x Cullen I do wonder if it will be hard to accept a new PC in that role. And, if I do, what will happen to my invariably languishing Hawke/Cullen fic I'm working on!  Guess I just need to buckle down and get her done. ;)
