Oh gawd yeah! I'm nervous about the whole forums reaction. If it's more realistic like the Battlefield 3 environments then they're gonna get accused of turning DA3 into "Dragon Age 3: Skyrim Warfare" and if the environments lean more towards the cartoony side they'll get accused of being "Dragon Age 2: The Third" LOL! 

Exactly.  And thats why I'm hoping for a reasonable compromise.

Just teasin' ya! But, indeed, that is a helpful post. It complements what was apparently in the strategy guide already, which had a description of the months. Seeing the full description of the holidays, it suggests that they're basically the Celtic calendar's cross-quarter days that fell at the (actual) start of each season. (EDIT; BAH, I TAKE THAT BACK. My first thought had been that they correspond to the solistices; the cross-quarter days are in between those, so I'll have to go look at it again and count again.) Curiously, I've seen past speculation that that means the start of their year (First Day)  isn't really our January but instead a month before the spring equinox, so mid-February. That would put Satinalia around the Winter Solstice. Cool!

edit: Which is incidentally good since they do mention in DA2 that Aveline is having a Solstice party, so apparently they do also celebrate those "astronomical" events. It doesn't, however, explain why Aveline was NOT having a Satinalia party, tho.

I've been thinking (dangerous I know!):

What if the reason the Warden and Hawke have disappeared is because Flemeth has them? I don't necessarily mean in a bad "rawr let's perform an evil ritual with them", but instead, maybe she's taken them away to protect them/prepare them for the bigger threat? Maybe the Warden/Hawke are off carrying out a task for her to ensure the safety of Thedas in the long run?

I mean, both the Warden and Hawke (especially if related) are special. Perhaps it's something to do with Corypheus? Since Hawke had the special blood he needed, not to mention the fact that he/she "slayed" him. Of course, we all know that Corypheus didn't actually die, instead posessing the body of Larius/Janeka and headed off back to the Wardens, which is of course where our Warden comes into the mix (if still alive). Alternatively Flemeth might have taken them away due to some other unexpected "big bad" that's about to happen.

Which could then be the in-game reason given as to why we end up playing as a new protagonist, trying to smooth over the cracks with the whole Mage/Templar thing, which under normal circumstances would've been a job for Hawke and maybe dealing with Warden business, which would usually be our Warden's duty (if still alive) amongst all the other things our new character will have to deal with.

So basically, since our regularly scheduled heroes aren't around to help, some poor sod has to pick up the pieces instead, thus creating our third new hero lol.

Hmm, dunno. Took a peek at the footage from the  DA panel at Pax East last year, and they didn't show the initial slides but instead focused on MLaw as he was talking. Could be!  I'm more and more convinced we're seeing our  PC who has "taken up the cloak" of the Inquisitor (or whatever the phrase was!).

Here's a useless fact for you all:

Since the DA3 forum opened, there have been 5 derogatory threads directly about Cullen, 2 derogatory Cullen threads disguised as a normal threads and 4 threads that started off about non-Cullen related topics that derailed into Cullen hate threads. That's 11 within 3 months. There were only 4 threads made with pro-Cullen topics. 15 Cullen threads in total!

Haters gonna hate!
