And, buying from EA's origin was a cinch (sp?). I'll bet gamespot would be the same, since downloads are so straightforward these days. A possible advantage, I suppose, of EA is that you'll have to register the game with them anyway. If you need to re-download and re-install, either should have it available for a certain period, IIRC. I'd double check that, tho, just in case. Seems to me that's the only real issue with a download vs. hardcopy.

Once you have a working version, then you should be able to use mods. And, generally yes, they're easy to install. Each should have instructions for what to put where within the documentation.VampOrchid wrote...

Bah, its almost New Years and I have practically ditched my Cullen's past story thing. I need to be slapped. I shall work on it tomorrow! Hopefully.
I just started writing mine! I've got basically nothing at about 300 words! LOL But, I think it's gonna a bit closer to 2000 - 3000 words, if I get it done. Ah well.

wow, so the downloads at gamestop and at eb are not working for me. No big. I went to amazon.ca and got the ultimate edition for 24 bucks lol. NICE! So by the time I get that, finish it and all the DLC I'VE NEVER PLAYED plus add the mods! Then it will be time to order DA 2 lol
Enjoy it! Let me know if you need any help installing and running mods, or if you want any suggestions.

I'm doing a pro-templar run... for science, of course. I don't know if that has any bearing on Cullen's answer. Cullen is more open with a templar-siding Hawke, but he's pretty clueless in general, so it would not surprise me if the line was available to mage-siding Hawkes as well. To be honest, I usualy limit my dialogue with Cullen on pro-mage playthroughs for role-playing reasons. All of my Hawkes are mages, but my pro-mage ones are pretty circumspect about talking to templars.
Anyway, "over the last three years" implies that it happened during Year 1, *before* Bartrand sold the idol. Was the cheese starting to slide off Meredith's ****** even then?

Fans always speculate about the reappearance of old favorites in contrast with the introduction of new companions. Ultimately, it works out the way it works out. No matter what they decide to do, somebody will female-dog about it. Personally, I would prefer to see companions who have never been companions before because I adore new love. I don't forget old companions. They're as dear to my heart as ever. But I really, really enjoy the process of falling in love with a new cast. I just don't get why people act like they can't fall in love again. I understand how a game can exist where we aren't given a lot to work with. I wasn't juiced about *any* of the characters featured in the linked survey (besides Cullen, naturally). But I'm prepared to give them a chance to change my mind. Hells, if Isabela did, anybody could.

Hit an interesting line while talking to Cullen in Act 2. No active quests, just chatting. Hawke asks him about Knight Commander Meredith and Cullen says something along the lines of "She's become very suspicious over the last three years. I almost wonder if something happened."

As I recall, he says that no matter what side you favor. That line seems familiar to me, and I usually play either pro mage or somewhere in the middle.
Meredith was always seen as a pretty strict templar, as you hear about it even when Hawke first comes to Kirkwall when you talk to the one guard. So I think what Cullen is saying that over the past three years, her parinoia about mages has become increasingly worse, not so much that something all the sudden roused her suspicions somewhere around three years ago.

Personally I'd love to say that I have completely avoiding making choices outside of the mindset of my character but sometimes I save people purely because they are cool and I know them. Who is to say that I'd have been so nice to Zevran in DA2 had I never met him and known nothing about him outside of that appearance...like my Hawke probably did.
I bring this up because say if Sten returns as an antagonist and we have to choose between him and Dorian the magister. We might love both like I did with Anders and Sebastian. I didn't complain when I finished that choice albeit I'd have loved to keep them both, but I can say that Anders being an old friend made it harder to kill him (during subsequent playthroughs though I always spare him), not as the seven years together but because I knew him before he was possesed. Thats all I meant

Yeah what Nikki said. I think that the idol only really stripped what inhibitions she'd had that kept her from the RoA. Her paranoia likely growing larger by the presense of a mage she couldn't touch or a family who'd been housing said mages and her seeming failure at keeping blood mages in check.
Seems like everything falls apart when Hawke and his/her family shows up.

Aw, sorry, Danny! I didn't mean to sound confrontational. My point was more that it's something that a lot of people are interested in. People like "what if" speculation, and I don't blame them one bit, since I do it too.Danny Boy 7 wrote...
