I think we need Oghren or another character that can make me laugh as much as him--and have Steve Blum voice over him. I wouldn't mind having a mage companion (not Anders unless he somehow reverts back to how he was in Awakening). Caster classes are usually my favorite. If shapeshifting returns--please give me a cat form. If there's a hunter spec again, which I hope, I would like a cat pet too--or a cat equivalent of a mabari. I wonder too if there will be further development on Sandal's predictions he says in DA II at Hawke's estate, and to back up the story Bodahn provided if you persuade him to tell how he met Sandal. I hope mages get buffed since I really was pissed and disappointed by it in DA II. I miss a lot of mage and rogue abilities from both Origins and Awakening.

I seriously want my Warden to return as a companion and romanceable with Cullen if they're both companions. (just tell me to shut up if I'm over emphasizing this ><)

My boyfriend has been watching me play DA2 so he knows what Cullen's like during his time in Kirkwall, so I decided to show him what Cullen was like in DA:O during the Mage origins story, I told him it was Cullen but let him make up his mind about his personality. This was his reaction:

"That's Cullen from DA2 right? ... I think he's got a crush on your character... Aw look he's stuttering, omg he's running away, you scared him off! Bless him, he's shy. I really like him, he's a cool guy in both games, he should definitely be a companion in the third game!"

Lol he seems to have really taken a liking to him. He says that's what he likes about Bioware games, the characters make you feel something.

Dunquixote: Out of interest, who did your Warden(s) romance in DA:O? Or did you keep them single for Cullen?

Alfidaiya Surana, my mage was single in DA:O though Alistair has a crush on her because how fast their friendship increased. Iora, my female dwarf noble rogue romanced Zevran...though for some reason, I am starting to regret it. (I do like the sex scenes with Zevran better though). My Cousland romanced Zevran and Alistair--she married Alistair and is in a romantic relationship with both xD; Leliana has a crush on her too since I had her flirt with Leliana.

I'm sorry if I annoyed anyone because of how much I like my Warden. >< Like I said before, I get obsessive over silly things and I know it can be annoying.  I am not trying to shove my ideas on anyone, but I apologize if I have given that impression.

Hehehe awesome!

I have only one DA:O playthrough which is my ultimate one where my character is a human Mage who romances Alistair, they both stay as Warden's. I deleted all my other practice playthroughs that I used to experience all the different possibilities/romances/outcomes with. My ultimate DA2 playthrough will be a male Mage Hawke romancing Anders who sides with the Mages.

My ultimate playthroughs are the ones where I complete everything, get everyone to 100% friendship and romance my favourite romanceable character. I like to have them all set up and ready to import for the next game... It's just annoying that the romance flags glitch in DA games, Alistair doesn't recognise that he was in a relationship with my Warden, referring to her as a friend rather than "the love of his life" which is what he's supposed to say according to the YouTube videos I've watched.

Aw you're sure not annoying me! I love my warden to death, I would love to play as her again but I know that won't happen so I've put it to rest I guess. In DAO I always romance Alistair every-single-time

I always try to make a cannon playthrough but I just can't decide! I think I'm going to end up making 3 different ones and then decide which I like best one with femamell/malemagehawke, malewarriorcousland/malemagehawke or femamell/femmagehawke. But ultimately my female Amell is and always will be my favorite character. I also always play mages, I don't know why, I just love the idea of being stand-outish

The reason I wouldn't want my Warden/Hawke or any of the past romancable characters coming back is because so many things could go wrong. For example, say they brought Alistair back as a companion, people would complain if he wasn't romancable but they would also complain if was and suddenly decided to fall in love with your new pc after pledging his undying love for your Warden in DA:O, the fan uproar would be immense! Even if Bioware put relationship flags on them they would probably glitch like Zevran's did. What if they brought your Warden back but they gave her a voice you didn't like, or she behaved in a manner that is out of character to the way you played her in DA:O? I for one would feel like she wasn't my Warden anymore... I guess there are just too many variables that could go wrong, especially as they'll never put as much time and resources into DA3 that they did with DA:O.

Yeah both my Warden and Hawke are Mages, especially since they're both Amells. I like the idea that their family has some sort of special bloodline which produces Mage heroes lol! I'm kinda hoping we will get to play another Amell, although that could cause problems for Cullen... Especially if there's ever a family reunion LOL!

I can't help but worry, every time I make a post, since I tend to repeat myself a lot about how much I miss my Warden mage.

I do that too.  I've rolled I think 3 Alfidaiya's not counting the Awakening and other DLC playthroughs trying to figure out what my favorite spells are (which I know now) and what the best combinations are--which I am still struggling with since I want more than the amount of points you get to spend.  I downloaded the respec mod, which will help a lot now.  This playthrough is better than the first couple because I knew which were my favorite spells and which helped me survive longer--I also have to stick to something similar to how I'm writing her in my stories.  She doesn't have Winter's Grasp yet, even though I had her cast it in my first story (but I'll see if I have enough points left to invest a point into it in Awakening).  I've also played a few Selesnya's (elf mages too)--also to play around with the different spells and specs.  I'm trying to find a suitable one to keep her save files for good.  With her, I'm trying to have her spells relate to how I have my character that I named after.  She's a Holy/Shadow priest--it seemed simple enough to aim for at first, but really isn't. lol  Then I made a male human mage based on my warlocks on another game.  I'm planning on making him evil or the opposite of Don Quixote, who hates magic users, (just like how I had in that game) but isn't evil and wants to be a knight.  I plan on making my male mage a blood mage and I'm not sure if I made him a spirit healer yet or not, but I don't think I should go with spirit healer (if I did, I'll have to start over).

Haha How weird would that be! Although I seem to be one of the few who don't wan't my warden to come back in a cameo I've always wished for a little Amell/Surana and Cullen reunion, though I guess that belongs off the game ;(
I would love to pla another Amell, I've got a question to something Leandra mentions, something about the Amells being a noble line since Gahrahel(or however you spell it) drove out the fourth blight? Does she mean Gahrehel was an Amell, I mean in the codex it said he was an elf? oooh but this also adds to the amells being all heros, that would be so amazing if we got to play another Amell, I could call her Belle Amell lol

Dunquixote: Awwww. ^^ I've enjoyed a lot of fanfic puts Cullen on an alternate path, keeping him with the mage Warden. It's not headcanon for me but love it and I'll gladly fill fic prompts for it.

I have seriously squishy feelings for my canon warden and she's also a Surana. She ended up riding off into the wardeny sunset with Alistair. If her path ever meets up with Cullen in the future, who knows? *shrug* I'm not sure I see them having a romance due to the directions their lives have taken but I'm definitely not against them meeting up somehow in DA3.

Oddly (or not, given that this *is* the Cullen appreciation thread), I ship my canon fem Hawke with Cullen as an off-screen rivalry turned friendship/romance. I didn't purposefully go into DA2 with this idea nor did I plan on keeping her single in the game. But, as one event led to another, the romances that could have happened for her didn't feel right so she turned them down (Anders friendmance, Fenris rivalmance) and none of the other romances ever came close to triggering. Once I got near the end of DA2, I started thinking about how that particular Hawke and Cullen would have worked really well in a respectful rivalmance and that's what became headcanon. ;)

Also, if my Warden came back as the main character I wouldn't be able to bring myself to romance anyone else because she's with Alistair, which would mean poor Cullen would still end up alone pining for his Amell that he still can't have because she's already in a relationship with the love of her life. Even if they killed Alistair off (Maker forbid!) she still wouldn't romance anyone and even if she did it would only be as a replacement/second best, which is just too cruel.

I want Cullen to romance a completely new pc, one that (in my game) will only have eyes for him. Maker knows the poor thing needs someone to love him unconditionally.

I didn't care too much for the friendship/rivalry aspect of the game. I mean, I did like the the challenge it brought the game, since in Origins, without using the Feastday Pranks DLC, it was a lot easier gaining friendship with the companions than it was in Dragon Age II.

Tell me about it! I've yet to get friendship with every party member in one playthrough. I'll need to use a walkthrough for that I think!

Also, you guys need to check out that Mage who sets himself on fire during the Mage Origins, it's Greg Ellis at his best! He only says a few lines but it's very funny!

Speaking of funny lines, I wonder what sort of party banter Cullen will have with the other companions? There's bound to be some funny one liners since all the companions get a few, even the moody ones. It would be a shame if they don't give him a sense of humour, Greg Ellis does it so well. I also hope the pc participates more in the banter, I always felt left out of it in DA2.

I always laughed at that and when he stuttered "N-no," but I never had paid attention to his voice. I can hear his voice now that I'm thinking about that.

Have a listen to the way he delivers his lines as Awakening, it's awesome! I'd love to see Cullen in a relaxed setting, just being himself without his Templar duties getting in the way... I mean, the guy must have off duty time? It's a pity we never get to see what Templars do with their time off (aside from visiting brothels!)

Well, to Oghren, it'd have to do with dwarven stereotypes:

Example when he's in your party during the Broken Circle:
Oghren: I think you need a tall mug of ale to calm you down, lad.  I may need one myself, come to think.
Cullen: That was inappropriate dwarf.  But what more could be expected from an ignorant, cave-dwelling heathen?
Oghren: Ignorant, cave-dwelling heathen?  Have we met before?

lol.  But I'm sure it'd be hilarious.
