I'm suspicious of Andraste. And then remeber this? Speaking of Apocrypha:
from the Wiki--
"Interestingly enough, there is a book called "The Search for the True Prophet", which is a gift for Wynne, that mentions the possibility that Andraste wasn't, in fact, the Maker's Chosen, but rather "just" an extraordinarily powerful mage. This would explain Andraste's insight on the dangers of magic, whereas most humans, unable or unwilling to separate good magic from evil, fear it all. The text of the book mentions that it has been saved from a fire at some point in time, suggesting that there has been fierce opposition to any depiction of Andraste that runs counter to official Chantry doctrine. This is also a possible explanation for the healing powers of her ashes. " (altho it may have been the lyrium in the mountain)
Really the whole thing is an interesting read. I also remember hearing that Andraste didn't cry out from the flames--which makes me think Fire Ward.
The Archon that put the sword in her heart, or head, may have realized and decided to kill her more directly.
There is some debate abt his so called conversion.
And that blood does look like dragon wings. Ha! What if she's a sister, or daughter of Flemeth! And she was on that mountain summo---uh, singing to who knows what?
Question: Did the idea of the Maker exist before Andraste? And also how did Andraste Know that the Tevinter mages were responsible for the Blight?
Yeah I think the devs wanted to put in a fair amount of doubt to make it less strange for aethistic characters to exist in a world where the deity of said world is so fully proven...er, maybe not proven, but a lot less likely that he isn't real? Know what I mean?
They make it vague enough to make the book either be scholorly research censored by the Chantry or anti-Chantry sentiment because as I recall it was mentioned that the book's author had written it in a very...outspoken manner rather than an unbiased look at it. So I think the devs are trying rather hard to keep the discussion on a peripheral level rather than taking a side on a very real irl debate.
Yeah that Archon is believed to have just been aquiecsing to the army banging on his doors much in a very similar way to Emperor Constantine of Rome is believed to have done for early Christians. I believe his name was Hessarian.
It would be rather bad ass though if the final boss was a figure similar to Andraste that makes you think she wasn't all that she appeared to be.
