I know that feel to a certain extent because for about six months after the release of Legacy, Fenris did not even acknowledge his relationship with Hawke. It's nice that they did eventually get around to fixing that though. Which is more than I can say for Zevran in DA2.

Yeah, I did it once with one of the default choices. Does anyone know what he says if he's drunk in the Hanged Man and the Warden screwed him over if he was in a relationship with her? Does he mention anything about it? Like "I thought she loved me but I was wrong" or whatever?

Yeah, it's true the comics aren't canon ... can we call them DG's "head canon" since he seems so fond of the word? Honestly, head canon is the stuff you make up in your head after the game/book/film has ended. And I don't think it's head canon for us players to assume Hawke/the Warden and his/her LI live happily ever after.
Not that BW writers aren't within their right to reveal in DA3 that Hawke or the Warden died. But the LI, if s/he should show up, should acknowledge that. That's not-head canon; that's consistent writing!!!!

DA2 definitely felt like a set up for a bigger story, so I'm not surprised they've had Inquisition planned for a while. Here's my worry tho... And don't judge me for my analogy! Stephenie Meyer ran into that with the last Twilight book. She always had the ending planned, and when the first book did well, she wrote in between sequels that capitalized on her, erm, formula. Which her fans loved. And then she released her finale... Which was a bit of a horse of a different color... Much outcry was heard. Now, not saying DA is twilight... As far as this Alistair and Isabela connection with the comic-verse, do they actually hook up or something? I've only read the first series, and I saw a bit of flirting from Isabela but that's pretty much it.

Chiming in here - the 'Lost' creators said the same thing. They basically said that they always had an ending planned out so many of the episodes were either fluff or plot boosters. Some weeks were crap but you could feel it was setting up the scene for a big boom somewhere. That's exactly what I felt with DA2. It felt like a plot catalyst.R2s Muse wrote...

I agree though if they change any relationships afterwards then why have romance at all? I mean it's realistic somewhat but I doubt our LI's especially an unhardened Leliana would break up with the Warden. SInce I believe hardened Leliana does at the end of the game if you didn't kill Majorlaine.
