Hm, was it in the cancelled expansion? I got the impression from the DG tumblr post that Seb/Beth was just an idea they decided not to implement, regardless of the expansion...

Anyway, you can see traces of it in the DLCs, where Seb and Bethany flirt... I mean... NO. THEY DO NOT SUCH THING!!! SEBASTIAN ONLY HAD EYES FOR MY HAWKE!!!

Just think of Bethany as "second best" if it makes you feel any better? Can't have Hawke? Balls to it, go for her sister instead!  Actually, I remember the first time I played DA2, my Hawke flirted with Anders and it earnt me about 10 rivalry with Bethany LOL!

I thought if you were pro-Templar you could become Viscount when Orsino and Meredith are bickering about it?

LOL I laughed my head off when he showed up to the Garden party with Serendipity in the MotA DLC. For some reason, until that point I hadn't realised Serendipity was a transexual because I didn't realise you could talk to her in the Blooming Rose (or the Pearl in DA:O), so you can imagine my amusement when I approached her at the party and she had a ridiculously deep voice!

I've actually been pretty fortunate with my canon romances in every BioWare game I've played so far, each one I've picked hasn't pulled any nasty surprises within the relationship side of things ... although I suspect my luck is about to run out with this next one!

I know what you mean...though had I not come to Dragon Age later than Morrigan would have technically left me for however long it is until Witch Hunt. Isabela flirts with everyone so I sort of excepted it lol. I feel like I will be boned in the future...something horrible is going to happen to me via my LI soon.

The grove was the epitome of a serene landscape, the world seemed to stand still here, but for a light breeze that cooled the weary bodies of our party. Lit through a clearing in the roof of the tree tops the lake seemed to shimmer, inviting the party to ease their broken and bloodied bodies. So much fighting, so much death, they needed a reprieve, a simple rest before the weight of the world came crashing back onto their shoulders.

The Iron Bull was the first to strip off his leathers, tossing them to the side before diving into the lake without another word. Cassandra let her shoulders relax as one by one the rest of their part joined the bull in the lake. She stared listlessly at her friends as they eased off their personal burdens unable to fault them, even Cullen seemed to relax, the tragedy of the past decade washing off of him every time the water lapped at his strong chest; eyes closed as his head hung backwards.

A hand jostled Cassandra from her thoughts as she turned to see the group’s leader smiling gently at her.

“You don’t have to worry, we’re safe here.” He said

Cassandra’s eyes softened, “It’s beautiful here. I wish we could take a bit of this paradise with us.” She said.

“I will” he said as almost a whisper.

Y'know, I'd love for there to be a scene or area in which the protagonist 'n' co can take some time out to chill and regroup. Maybe something with the same function as the camp site in DA:O where all the companions are in one place together.

I'd also like for us to get a scene in which we can spend some quality time with each companion individually (something akin to the dates/hanging out scenes in ME3) but during which we'd get to learn some more personal history about the companion and maybe have a little romantic moment with them if you're romancing them.

In ME3? I guess they only really counted as dates if you were romancing one of them, the rest were just Shepard hanging out with his/her friend because it could be the last chance they get, kinda thing.

In DA3 they'd have to play out a little differently since they'll be people that the new protagonist has only recently met.

No, alas, you never actually become Viscount during the game. They talk about it, but you don't get the chance. Sebastian then later tells you should be Viscount, but it doesn't get decided until Cullen officially annoints you during the epilogue.

And, I had the same reaction to Serendipity. I never met her or heard about her during the game, so that was a surprise for me, too! I think I later read that she's one of the, erm, special services you can get at the Rose??  I've never really partaken.

I guess for the protagonist in DA3 the "date nights/hang out scenes" would have to play out differently since the companions are pretty much strangers to her/him still. So, instead perhaps it would be done as a way to get to know your companions on a deeper level. For example:

The protagonist returns to her rented room in a local tavern. They had important things to do here in Orlais so returning back to base would be impractical. Suddenly Bodahn enters the room:


Bodahn: "Messere, I have a message for you from young Master Cullen. Lovely chap, if a bit serious"

Protagonist: "Really? What does he want?"

Bodahn: "He requests that you meet him on the city walls. He wishes to speak with you"

Protagonist: "The city walls? But he can speak to me at any time, why didn't he just come here instead?"

Bodahn: "It is a rather odd place to conduct a conversation if I do say so meself, but I believe the topic is of a... sensitive nature, he seemed rather anxious. Perhaps he didn't want people eavesdropping?"

Protagonist: "I see. Thank you Bodahn, I'll go to him now"

*Protagonist goes to see Cullen and returns to find a note on her desk*


"*Insert Surname* I must speak with you, in private. Meet me outside the Grand Cathedral as soon as you can. Cassandra"


Protagonist: "No rest for the wicked!"

That sort of reminds me of what Kelly Chambers did in ME2...except better imo. I'd love to have a little conversation about it with Bodhan, like "Am I the only who thinks it's weird no one ever comes to me in person?

The one problem I run into with all this talk about Cullen, the Hawke/Cullen fanfics, fan-art, speculation and analysis that we've been doing in here, is that it makes me really want to play DA2 whilst we wait for DA3, but then I load the game up and remember that Cullen doesn't actually do an awful lot through the majority of the game and our interaction with him is limited and then I'm like, I've played this game 1000's of times, I'm bored of it now. Not enough Cullen.

It's something that also concerns me when I finally play DA3.

What with the survey leak and all the fun concepts we've come up with off the back of it's appearance, I'm wondering if I'll be disappointed if it turns out that the game isn't at all like we expected. Obviously, the game isn't going to be "Dragon Age 3: The Cullen Years" so I'm not expecting it to feature his story arc heavily, if at all, but I'll definitely be disappointed if we only see him for a 2 minute cameo lol. 

It's weird, we know next to nothing about the game and yet I feel like I've already played it LOL.

I have something serious to talk about with you guys....let's talk about...Day 1 DLC

DUN DUN DUNNNNN!!!!!!

So I dunno if they're going to make us pay for another DLC companion, they said they won't but idk they have for their past two or three games so I wouldn't be surprised if we get another one here. I don't mind them if I'm honest especially because they normally sell them for free with the pre-order, but idk, they need to make sure they avoid the whole Javik scenario. Idk how I'd feel if they let us play as Morrigan again if we buy DLC, I'd probably do it, but it'd be kind of lame.

We're sort of at the peak of anticipation, the game is who knows how many months out and we've been shown something that really appeals to us as players, so it can't come soon enough, I just hope our sugar highs don't get us to worked to properly enjoy the game for what it is, rather than what we expected it to be with this small bit of information.
