Here's a question, I've probably asked it before but since we know a little more about the game now perhaps you've changed your minds:
Is anyone else concerned that your gonna be at least a little disappointed with DA3 due to all the ideas and theories we've thrown about in here about possible quests, companions, romances etc that probably won't be in the game?
Bioware always manages to surprise me w/ ideas and concepts that I never could have thought of on my own, so I really don't think I'd be disappointed if things didn't match up exactly to what I have in my head. And I mean, if there's Cullen, everything will be wonderful :innocent:

@Vamp If you're downloading hair mods that don't have compatible chargenmorph files already created, then you have to download the chargen compiler and run that. The chargen files are what contain the code that opens up certain slots that the hairstyles are added into. So you might have the hair downloaded, but the spot where it is contained is hidden in the character creation screen.
Edit: This is what you need to download
I have it, but when I run it, and I check out what it has written on it, it erases all the mods and keeps only the ingame stuff...I don't know why it's doing that

rapscallioness: Take a print screen shot of it, then paste it into Mspaint, crop out everything except the picture and upload it in here!
I went back to look, but I can't find it.
I was scrolling thru the pics from the beginning when I saw it. It was right after the pic where your party with the Qunari holding the hammer seems to be facing of against a horde of darkspawn atop a frigid plateau.
I remeber commenting on the Qunari there--w/the Red Surcoat thing. Holding a giant hammer. The Qunari w/ Horns. That I've never seen. It looked like DA3 stuff to me.
I scrolled down past that and there ws the forest pic..I was like wait, what?
The print screen is not cooperating for me.

I'm pretty adaptable and easy to please when it comes to Bioware games, lol. I never let myself get too attached to particular theories, etc. I guess it depends on each particular thing, but I'm sure I'll be happy with DA3 regardless.

I think the only thing that would really disappoint me would be Cullen not being a companion (romanceable or other), but I'm fully expecting to be disappointed about that so it wouldn't come as a surprise at least.
Aside from that, I guess I'd be a little sad if the interaction with companions and LI's was as limited as it was in DA2. I think we're golden for the Orlesian ball though!

Yeah honestly I am really unenthusiastic about the game. I'm disappointed about having to play a human character again (Skyrim is helping me get over that though LOL Damn I love my adorable little wood elf). I have a feeling the CC will be uninspiring. I fear we'll be forced to play a character who is somehow aligned with the Chantry (which I personally hate because I dislike religion). I've been mocked as a Cullen fan, mocked as a Fenris fan, and mocked as a qunari fan, and sometimes by the devs themselves (i.e. DG saying those who want a qunari romance are just fetishists... yes I'm still quite insulted by that).
I fear the game will be more like DA:O than DA2. Generic fantasy, basically. DA2 was so different; it felt personal and was wrapped up in political intrigue, and that seemed to carry over with MOTA. But fans beotched so much about DA2 that it seems the devs are maybe slipping back towards DA:O.
One thing that holds me over is knowing the companions, at least, will be awesome, because the DA writers know how to write good characters. Of course now lately all DG can talk about are romances, and he's got nothing nice to say about fans of romances (that HE writes, by the way). So I'm concerned now romances will be downplayed, or they'll be depressing and end in death or the LI leaving the PC.
Blah, I'll shut up now lol

Littlenikki, I have no idea what i'm doing wrong...sometimes i can change things around and I get some hair, not all, then other times I get the other hairs and the ones I had working stop...ugh lol my brain hurts
Its because you're writing over certain chargenmorph files. With each hair mod, there is a chargen file included that allows you to use that hair in the character creation. When you are downloading the new hair mods, you are overwriting that chargen file that was downloaded w/ the previous downloaded mod. This is how I do things.
1. Download the mod I want. Create a file in the override file that the downloads get placed in for that specific mod.
2. Download the next mod, same thing as the first step.
3. Run the Chargen Compiler mod I linked for you, it will detect all chargenmorph files that are w/in the override folder. It will compile all the chargen files into one file, then you will have each hairstyle that you have downloaded.
You have to do this each time you download a mod that affects the character creator. Skin texture mods, eyes, tattoos, etc. I hope this helps. If you need more detailed instructions, there's often a Read Me file that the mod creator has included that will give you indepth step by step instructions.

Really? I have higher beliefs that Cullen will be a companion, than there being an Orlesian ball that we will be attending. Did I miss something?

So are you saying make a folder for hair, one for eyes, one for tats and add the new hair lets say to the hair fold then run the compiler?
Or are you saying make a new forlder for 'every' mod every time and then run the compiler?

Yeah, his comments about romances worry me a bit too, but fortunately he's not the sole writer of the game so the other writers get some say in it too. At the end of the day it's down to Mark Darrah and the others to decide what goes or stays in the Dragon Age games, so sometimes DG will have his desires overruled by the other devs.
The thing is, the romance is a big part of what sells BioWare games, so it won't be going anywhere anytime soon. As for the companions cheating, dying or generally doing horrible stuff, that's a big possibility but hopefully you'll choose a LI that won't behave like a total douche.

Me to, though trying to get everything just right is a pain. I want to make the choices I want to, but not have to fight Fenris or anyone at the end...but in order to get Fenris fully one way or another it seems like I have to treat him like dirt or treat mages like dirt.

I've actually done pretty well getting his friendship up, but it did require me to flirt with him... but my Hawke flirts with literally everyone, so I guess he's a bit of a cheeky chappy LOL!

I make a file for every single mod I download. Keeps things organized, and easy to find if I want to uninstall something. You have to do each hair mod seperate from another, like "More Hairstyles" file and a "Anto Hairstyle" file (I think those are the names. You need seperate files, so the chargen files do not overwrite each other.

Just read the lyrium page... salivating...
"In its raw form, lyrium emits a strangely soothing sound some call the voice of the Maker. The Chantry claims the mineral is a remnant from the birth of the world, when the Maker created the land and the skies. They believe lyrium is not so much the essence of magic as the essence of all creation." Yeah
Ahh yes, another thing that upsets me is the stupid so-called follower "customization." What I get from that video is if you ut a breastplate on Isabela it will basically change the color of her panties. And that's about it.
Yay, way to compromise, guys.
