Me to, though trying to get everything just right is a pain. I want to make the choices I want to, but not have to fight Fenris or anyone at the end...but in order to get Fenris fully one way or another it seems like I have to treat him like dirt or treat mages like dirt.

Fenris is actually really easy!! Do you mind meta-gaming? If not, just check out his Approval page. If you do, just know when to not bring him ("Act of Mercy") and when TO bring him (when interrogating the slaver who sold Feynriel, for example... if you ask Fenris to "make him talk" and then kill the guy, Fenris gives +10 approval).

You don't have to flirt with him; in fact, flirting often gives less approval than a diplomatic/friendly response. (My personal opinion: Fenris is shy and doesn't like flirting lol)

I don't mind meta-gaming for my ultimate playthrough. Can I still be pro-mage and get him to like me? While also being a mage? Also what's the difference between a friendship with him and a rivalry? Like is he more accepting of mages or?

I don't think she lied about it, unless she saw something even worse in that book so she felt she had to destroy her mother for the greater good. Either way, Flemeth saw it coming. Maybe Flemeth purposely intended for that to happen, thus the entry about her killing/possessing her daughters was added to the book?

I know but we aren't given enough information really... what did Morrigan read in that grimoire that made her ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that her mother planned to murder her? My canon Warden couldn't do it; Flemeth saved his life after all. So he went down there, spoke to Flemeth, and lied to Morrigan about killing her.

Quick quick we need to throw Cullen into this discussion somehow

It makes me wonder what Meredith was planning to do with her lyrium infused sword (hehe!)

I mean, why did she request the lyrium idol in the first place? Or did Bartrand figure that he could flog it to her for a pretty price? Presumably that thing started messing with her head almost immediately, so she must've had some plan to use it (regardless of whether the red lyrium told her to do it or not).

I bet "Sera's" a complete badass! I wonder if she's the one that swears all the time? This could be wishful thinking, but I saw that silhouette behind whoever that hooded figure is and thought "Cullen?" Obsessed, much!

I am ALWAYS pro-mage and ALWAYS get him to 100% friendship. FYI.

Do use his Approval page on the wiki then; it will greatly help!

Difference between friendsip and rivalry: basically, he's angry all the time in rivalry. He and Hawke are most definitely not friends, but he "respects" Hawke. He will refuse the Sword of Mercy. He seems generally unhappy (IMO).

In a friendship, he speaks kindly to Hawke and thanks him/her for his/her friendship. Is he more accepting of mages? I don't know. I know he will say in banter to Anders that some mages, such as Hawke (if Hawke is a mage) and/or Bethany (if Hawke is a rogue/warrior) can be trusted. But I don't know if he will not also say this during a rivalry because I have never completed the rivalry. He just seems too damn miserable as a rival.

IMO Fenris is willing to accept that not all mages are evil; in fact, many are strong people that he can admire (i.e. Hawke). But he believes that ALL are capable of being tempted, and he feels that the templars do serve a purpose.

Basically, in a friendship, by the final act, Fenris admits that killing the mages who hurt him hasn't made him feel any better. He sort of admits that his hatred of magic (not mages) is irrational, but tries to explain to Hawke that it's been difficult not feeling resentful, considering all that has happened to him.

Just my thoughts, hope it helps :)

Something suggestive about Empress Celene?

p 62
"Today, there are still many nobles who view Celene's rule as illegitimate. As she grows older and the likelihood of an heir by birth decreases, the movement to replace her grows."

Wow. Soooo...... what about an heir by other means...??? What if our protagonist or someone is tapped by Celene to succeed her and throws Orlais further into an uproar? Could be interesting.

Looks like armor to me, but with blue Fenris-like tattoos painted on it.

She and Anora have something in common then! (So long as she keeps her claws out of a King Alistair then I'm good!)

Not sure I'd want my protagonist becoming Queen/King... but I guess if I was Queen then I could demand Cullen sex my character up! Hmmm...

Okay, I will admit, that protagonist looks awesome!!! PLEASE BE OUR (male) INQUISITOR! And let (female) Inquisitor be equally as awesome. But I have a feeling she'd be more fashion conscious than to wear THAT hood...

Sera looks like a bad ass. Get in my party, girl, NOW. Unless you're an archer. Cause I'm always the archer :P

I think David is a generally nice guy, I think he writes great stuff, however I think he is bombarded by idiot commenters for every little thing he says, they don't even have to have read what he wrote and they'll comment on it which if I were him I would have left here a LONG time ago.

I agree with you; he seems reeeeeally nice (for a writer... writers by nature must be curmudgeons!!). In fact I see a lot of myself in him, and let me tell you, when I get annoyed, I can write some snarky stuff. Which is usually not a good thing (and I'm not the head writer of a gaming franchise who is probably being told to worry about PR and such).

Danny Boy 7 wrote...

I think you don't have to worry though. The game is enough like both games (so far) that the game could have the strengths of both and simply need additions like more races or bug fixes.

Yeah I know. And thanks for your solidarity regarding the elves

I have found that the BSN is actually LESS sexist and nasty and vitriolic than other online gaming spaces. I mean there are the guys with the Anora/Morrigan/femaleQunari fetishes and then there are the guys who wrote nasty messages to Anita Sarkeesian and what not.

But it's still pretty bad.

Np. Honestly I wanted to play as a City Elf in DA3 for the longest time. Partly because I wanted to play a Rogue and Bioware seems adamant not to make the CGI character a Rogue...which makes me a sad panda. I really want to have races return, but it's not a big deal for me. But it is for others so I'm all for it. I mean I'm indifferent, so I don't really have the right to exclude because I don't care about it lol.

We're pretty good here, but idk the BSN has been blackened in my eyes with how it treated Jennifer Hepler and even more so with how people were defending said harrasers as being justified on other sites...which idk...ticked me off.

It's not all bad though, it's got you guys. :D

Oh, yes. Me, too. Thanks for reminding me about that. Now suddenly I don't really care to go into the DA3 section. <_< ****s.

Did you ever play as a City Elf?! That's my canon Warden.
