Serendipity! Luvd it! In Blooming Rose she says something abt Bran not having visited in awhile. "I hope he hasn't gotten religious on me.." Lmao.

I love her too. not sure the hate mail was religious people offended BW dared to show there are people like Serendipity or it was transgendered people unhappy at the stereotype. Probably both

I always thought Bran must have held Serendipity in fairly high regard. I mean, she was w/ him at the Duke's party.

As for MotA, I thought I wouldn't like it cause I found Felicia Day's character super irritating in Redemption. Loved her in that one episode of Supernatural though

Hmm, as someone who loves F.D. "in person" but typically finds most of her characters irritating, MOTA is still worth it, IMO. Personally, I found Tallis in MOTA even more annoying than in Redemption... so you may want to be warned :)  ... but even with that, the DLC was fantastic. Beautiful, cool insights into Orlesian culture, more political intrigue, oodles more banter that generally acknowlege your LI, sneaking if that's you're thing.

I agree. I had a lot of fun playing MOTA. Great eye candy with the scenery and I got a kick out of the sneaking around bit. So frustratingly enjoyable.

Need to add that Serendipity was fantastic! Totally unexpected. Image IPB

Another nice addition in MotA was that when you came across a particular landmark of interest (for example the big lake) it would give you a little sweeping scene of the environment whilst Hawke, Tallis and the companions all talked amongst themselves about the location and it's history.

I thought this was worth reposting. I'm sure you all remember this. It's from a year ago, but...

This snippet is from questions abt Cullen. (whom at first Gaider was surprised fans cared abt..lol!)

"he mentioned an interest in maybe revisiting Cullen!! He described Cullen as someone who has had his good faith broken twice—once by the mages in the circle, who he trusted, and then by Meredith, who he also trusted. Gaider expects “angst” in his future, which we may see in the series. I hope so!"

Below is link to whole informal interview for your perusal.

Thanks for re-posting!

I guess, if you go by that comment, Cullen would need to have more than a cameo role or super minor npc role to depict that kind of "angst". Maybe there's hope for us yet!

yup. trust issues Cullen.

This also tells me that they were gonna have him in DA3 from the get go, regardless of fanluv. Perhaps his role has been expanded since then?  Gaider not realizing the fan luv for Cullen, but still having a  loose idea abt. what they wanted to do w/his character in the next game...well, there it is.

Gosh, I almost forgot about that one. Good points. Taking this with the fact that Jennifer Hepler said we would find out what happened to Cullen after Meredith, also suggests they've planned *something* for him for a long time.

I wonder if the "angst" is DG's example of what he expects the fans to pick up the pitchforks for.

LOL I think trust issues will definitely be part of his story/romance arc if he's a romanceable companion, especially if your character is a mage! I don't think it would be done in the same way Fenris' mistrust was though.

I could see Cullen wanting to trust the protagonist, but perhaps due to his past it's easy for someone/something trying to cause trouble by using this weakness against him. Kinda like in ME3 with Kaidan: he wants to trust Shepard but she worked for Cerberus so he's wary, then Udina uses this weakness to try and mess with his head during the stand off between them and Shepard. Dependant on if you managed to win back his trust during the game, depends on whether he makes the right choice and realises that Udina tricked him.

Sometimes she's sitting at the table with the other male hookers by the stairs, other times she's walking around, usually over by the bar.

Y'know, Hepler's comment regarding us finding out what happened to Cullen after Meredith makes me wonder if they've got a comic or short story planned for him, kinda like they did with Anders and his joining with Justice.

Of course, he could just tell us in the game what happened, but it if he's just a cameo/npc it would only be a brief description, like: "Oh, the Divine sent for me after Meredith's demise. I am not with the rebelled Order".

Even as a major npc/companion I could imagine that they'd want to tell us of his whereabouts between DA2 and DA3 and what better way to do it than with a comic or written story!

I used to think that it might even be part of the prologue that explains the mage-templar war and how we got there... but seeing as he's not included in the encyclopedia, his part in the "official" history of it must be insignificant.

I'm thinking that it's no coincidence that they left him out of the first encyclopedia, especially now that they appear to have given him a Surname. I guess whatever they've got planned for him they don't want to spoil it by mentioning him before the release of DA3. I bet he'll show up in the second encyclopedia if it's released after the game!

I wonder if maybe he'll at least get a brief mention in the opening sequence they usually have with the weird art depicting the events of each game?

okay..I'm not actually looking for this stuff. I just keep running into it. Whatever it was I was looking for..I' have forgotten now. Sigh. Anywho, another Old, yet interesting interview. Especially abt the Inquisition.

"TUK: Any chance we'll see Cullen again, and might he be in our party?

DG:
There are girls who work here who, if they had their way, definitely.
He has really nice hair. Maybe. I could have plans right now and "Yeah,
totally, we'd have him in the party and everything!" and then next week
that would change, so I'm always leery of making promises. I like
Cullen. I joke about him in some ways but I like the arc he represents.
There are some minor characters, like Sandal for instance, I like the
idea of having them be a unifying factor. Like R2D2 and C-3PO manage to
make their way into every sort of plot. Every major story has the
Maker's witnesses, who witness the big chances that are occurring, a bit
of connecting tissue between the games. And there are things I think
can be done with Cullen. I like the idea that he has confronted probably
the worst that the mages have, he's encountered the worst of what mages
can do. Yet he hasn't done what some Templars have done, like Meredith,
or--I keep wanting to call him Knight Divine--Lord Seeker Lambert in
the novel, how they have reacted is to become very anti-mage and very
judgemental and to paint all the mages in the same basic plot, a few bad
apples spoils the bunch. Cullen to me represents another side of
Templars which is a side that we need to keep active. Not all Templars
are these heartless bastards who would happily torture mages, that's not
true, there are Templars who are good people. I think Cullen is a good
man who recognizes that there are dangerous in magic, dangers that have
to be dealt with, but he doesn't lack for compassion and doesn't try to
say "Well, let's take the hard approach and kill everybody and let the
Maker sort them out." At the end of DA2 he's the person who sort of
tries to put on the brakes, the voice of sanity if you will. I think
that's important to represent,
so in that respect I like the idea of
Cullen reappearing, I like that element of his character, so it's
definitely a possibility.

TUK: We note the term Knight Divine. What kind of consequences does that have for the power structure of the Seekers?

DG:
There is a Knight Divine. That's the structure of the Templars. The
Templar Order head, the Knights Divine actually, they're plural. They
serve directly underneath the Divine, herself. Technically it's kind of
her bodyguards but they're also the heads of the Templar Order. Even
then they're still subservient to the Seekers, the Seekers are a
separate group which is also above the Templars. You can sort of think
of them as, I don't know if you have this in the UK, Internal Affairs. A
group within the police force that is separate but above. The Knights
Divine control the day to day operations of the Templars, they are the
ones who make all the rules, and a Seeker doesn't normally control the
Templars. But if a Seeker shows up, they have the authority to override
everybody else, that's the function they represent. They are the
watchers of the watchmen.

TUK: So it's the equivalent of the Ars Magica Inquisitor Internal, isn't it?

DG:
Yes. As a matter of fact the Templars were once all part of a group
called the Inquisition. There was an Inquisition in Thedas. It existed
around the time that the Chantry started to come to be. This was a time
after the First Blight, after Andraste's March, when there was chaos
everywhere, the Imperium had broken apart, you had the Old God cults, so
a lot of blood magic. There was a lot of chaos, you had the cults of
Andraste...and the Inquisition sort of arose as a group of people who
said "Enough is enough, somebody has to do something about this magic
that is tearing apart the world.
" And when the Chantry came to be they
went to the Inquisition and said "Hey, we're of the same mind on this,
why don't we pull together" and that's when the Inquisition turned into
the Seekers and the Templar Order. They kind of merged. It'd be
interesting to see if the Inquisition ever rose up again."

swooping-is-bad.livejournal.com/1286233.html

(the part abt the Inquisition..they relly were independent of the Chantry. They existed b4 the Chantry. although, I would at this point it wouldn't be just focused on magic, but all the chaos in general. Ppl jusayin "Enough is Enough!")

That reminds me! Early on (possible around the time of PAX) didn't they say that our party would be made up of some old familiar faces as well as new ones?
