Add to that, what do you think he'd do to relax after hours and on weekends?
I think he'd be a suit... in business or possibly wall street. Working for a fairly corrupt organization, but yet he still has hope that he can change that organization from the inside out. Still, he comes home exhausted every day.
On weekends, he does really yuppy stuff, like sailboating and golf xD

Maybe a prison guard or something? I dunno lol.

Bethany ... Bethany likes good-looking studs, so I bet she'd all over Cullen
Merrill ... They would obviously disagree about blood magic but in terms of personality, I think they'd get on famously. Relationship might be a bit boring, actually. Two super sweet people always doing little romantic things for each other.
Anders ... Like seriously I think this would be an exciting relationship. Two very passionate people who are also kind at heart. Lots of arguing, but then followed by lots of hot make-up sex.
Zevran ... Okay I think this would be cute. Zevran would tease the sh!t out of shy Cullen. But we know Zevran's a sweet guy and the teasing would be all in good fun.
Okay is it weird that I picked three mages for him?! He's soooo destined to be romanced by a mage by me mwahahahah

Another question ... who do you think Cullen is most compatible with?
Bethany ... Bethany likes good-looking studs, so I bet she'd all over CullenHe obviously has a thing for young female mages. Only thing is she might be too young for him.

I'd feel weird romancing him with anyone else but a mage LOL!

Bethany I could see happening, but as you stated she might be a bit too young for him.
Anders again, w/ the whole Vengence thing would probably make it hard for him to not constantly break out into Justice fueled rants whenever they speak w/ each other. That does leave plenty of potential for a love-hate relationship of course.
Zevran is a bit too sexual for Cullen to handle. As we've seen in Origins, he tends to shy away from obvious flirtation. Maybe he's become a bit more aggressive with age, but I don't really see that one flowing smoothly. Same thing if it were w/ Isabela.
For a non mage option, Leliana I could very much see having a relationship w/ Cullen. She's patient and sweet enough to deal w/ his awkwardness at relationships, while also brave enough to be the pursuer if Cullen is too shy to make the first move.

I could see that working! Although I don't know if she'd come across as a bit too sweet for him? My god, neither of them would ever sleep since they'd be trying to watch each other instead LOL!

See I actually typed Leliana, but then erased it, because the truth is, I have no idea who Leliana is! But also I think she'd have Cullen by the balls, and I feel kind of bad for him, giving him to her LOL
Did you not have her in your party in Origins? Or just not too interested in her character. She's definitely not one of my favorites (her ninja-mance irks the living sh*t out of me) but she's probably the only one I could really match Cullen with...besides our PC of course.

What about... gasp... Cassandra x Cullen? Cassandra is also really bossy pants, but I think it might kind of turn him on LOL Only thing that turns me off about it is they are both warriors. But them both being templars (I mean I'm understanding that a seeker is like an "elite" templar basically) would mean they share something, too.
That would be an interesting one! I dunno if he'd get annoyed that she'd boss him around... although he might like that since he's used to taking orders LOL!

I did have her in my party, especially in my current playthrough! (which I've admittedly pretty much abandoned) ... it's just that sweet pseudo-Sister Leliana seems to have been a complete fabrication, and in reality it's badass Left Hand of the Divine Leliana. So I just don't know who she is (which makes her interesting, sure).

There's an interesting thread in the DA3 forum about that actually, the OP gives some food for thought. Although, last I checked it had become an Alistair flame thread lol.

Ah ok, that makes sense.
I could see Cass/Cullen too, though she would for sure wear the pants in that relationship. That's someone I would totally be afraid to throw him at

So, what do you Cullen's think his "type" personality wise would be?
Dedicated, compassionate, loyal...the usual type of character our heros embody. He does seem to have bit of a sense of humor, though is not one to flaunt it about ala Alistair or Anders. So I could see him enjoying someone that doesn't take life too seriously. Patience would be vital as well, considering Cullen doesn't seem like the sort to jump head first in a relationship.

Yeah, based on the little we know he seems to admire strength of character so someone who isn't a wall flower. I think he'd probably be put off by someone that came on too strongly because it would likely scare him LOL! I always imagined that he'd admire someone with a "free spirited" nature since he's always been cooped up in Towers and stuff, probably wouldn't appreciate a protagonist that flirts with everyone lol.

This reminds me of something I've thought about which is whether templars are more like soldiers or policemen. I mean, compared to guardsmen, they're much more like a standing army with specialized purpose than keeping the streets safe.
Dunno then what the real world analogy would be.
I see him doing something that requires a lot of dedication and rules, and indeed, coming home exhausted every day. What about some hotshot surgeon or corporate lawyer?

I feel like he tends towards people he feels he can protect... but I think it would be more healthy for him (and indeed result in a more healthy and enjoyable relationship) if he gravitated towards someone with a strong will and conviction.
Yeah, I could imagine him wanting to protect the protagonist and worrying for his/her safety even though we'd obviously be a badass, so maybe at first he'd feel a bit useless. But really, I think he needs looking after the most.

Yeah, I think there are enough holes and grey areas in his story that it would depend an awful lot on who got to decide his fate. Plus, there's seems to be no formal understanding of what really happened at the Chantry level, or why would Cassandra still be in the dark in 9:40? So I think Cullen got totally frakked over, poor dear.LolaLei wrote...

There's always a tendency in any organization to ostracize perceived "traitors" even when they're doing the right thing.
Meredith was definitely crazy and had become a threat to the entire city — maybe even the entire continent — but Cullen still disobeyed her orders and he still helped kill her. There are definitely some militant templars who would call Cullen a traitor for his actions.
Exactly.
Many would accuse him of being a mage sympathiser... and probably even use his past infatuation with Amell/Surana against him (if you played the female mage origin). Bottom line is, if they wanted to nail his balls to the ground to prevent him from running to the Divine or whatever then they've got enough "evidence" to do so.
