So uh, yea, my search for 3D Cullen model has brought me across this little gem here...

Yeah, that's what I meant by artists creating their own models. Her new one is just delightful!

They are wonderful models, but somehow his face just doesn't quite say Cullen to me. I think it's more than the lack of goatee. Excellent work though!

I like her work, but I don't find that they really look like Cullen.

You know Morrigan tells the Warden the story about her mother, then mentions that a demon made Flemeth strong but it instead of her becoming an abomination, she became something else entirely? Do you suppose the same sort of thing has happened to Cole?

He has a face? I uh, never quite made it up to that point when admiring that pic

I always look at the eyes first, what can I say? I can see where you might've gotten distracted though

It's weird, now that I'm playing DA:O again after getting so used to DA2, I've noticed loads of pros and cons to the first game. For example:

Con: how clunky the combat is.
Pro: how much bigger and more interesting the environments are.
Con: how a voiceless protagonist kinda throws me out of the story due to the lack of expression or emotion on his/her face
Pro: How much more interaction we have with our companions.
Con: Lack of expression on the companions faces during conversations/cutscenes.
Pro: Alistair!

And that's just to name a few. It's strange how DA:O and DA2 are so alike, but so different. I think if DA3 can get the right balance of pros from both games then it could be something really special, especially with the new Frostbite 2 engine to dramatically pretty everything up.

I can safely say I wasn't looking at his eyes!

Interesting notes. I don't mind the combat, especially if I'm a mage I tend to play it more tactically anyway. One thing that really bothered me in DA2 is how the rogue could jump like 50 feet in combat. It really took me out of the fights. I mean, who needs to be able to sneak when your rogue can do that. I didn't feel the skill tree quite as much either ...

I definitely agree with you on the expressionless warden though. I mean, the voice wasn't a problem for me,  but they did seem generally more expressive in DA2.

I'm looking forward to better/unique animations and superior textures in DA3. No more rubber skin

And better hands! Anders looked like he was 80 years old with liver spots and Fenris.. UGH, that glove gives me the creeps! Cullen's gauntlets are hot though

I think the voiceless protagonist would have felt more engaging if she actually looked at the person she was supposed to be talking too, or had some expression on her face during certain cutscenes... But mainly I would've just liked to hear her banter with Alistair and the others in the same way that Hawke could with his companions. Funny, since I used to prefer voiceless protagonists.

I think the DA2 combat was too over the top, so if they can tone it down a bit and make it a bit more tactical (which I believe they already have) then we're golden. Character creator sucks in both games though, but I think it might be worse in DA2 because their faces tend to come out a bit derpy LOL.

I'm playing DA:O again as well.. had to format my PC so I'm working on all my saves again.
I think I have been spoiled by ME and DA2... honestly, I can't stand the unvoiced character anymore.
Weird because I am okay about it in other games. *shrugs*
Character creator... arg... those hairstyles! I tried to play without addons but I just couldnt do it heh
Plus the fact that no matter how hard I try all my Hawkes end up looking the same with different colored hair lol...

The pic above is nice but something kinda bothers me about it. (Not trying to knock the pic! Its really well done) But I think its too much of the same color on the face/head. Other than that its awesome :)

I don't know why I even bother trying to explain to people that we won't be all pitchforks at dawn if Cullen isn't "as we imagined", clearly no one reads it.

Sometimes I think people just love to have something to hate or b!tch about. Essentially we're the BSN's whipping boy.

If it wasn't for the fact that I like to try to keep up to date with any news in the DA3 forum, I wouldn't even bother going in there at all.

I'm thinking once we get the official announcement and find out who/what our protagonist is I probably won't bother going in there again until the companions are revealed.

You might wanna avoid the current Cullen thread in the DA3 forum then.It just baffles me that people end up attacking each other because they don't like the same things as each other.

I've never really been part of the online forum culture before so the BSN is my first proper experience where I've been actively part of something and contributed to discussions, let alone been a fangirl lol.

Soooo yuh, interesting experience!

Oh man thanks for the heads up LOL Yeah I'll avoid it for sure. Wasn't planning on visiting it after I initially clicked on the link that someone put up here.

The BSN is my second online community, ever. The first was/is an anime forum; mostly women who likes BL/yaoi anime. Nothing but love, love, love. All fangirling, all the time. Support for one another when something bad occurs in his/her personal life (there are a few guys here and there). Very international community, too.

Then I came here, and it was just like, wow. Nasty, nasty people. Even those who aren't trolls can just be generally mean. Bullies and jerks out the wazoo, even in the character threads. I don't know what people's problems are around here! No one online ever made me cry until I came to the BSN lol

In the past I've tried out a couple of forums but I'd either loose interest quickly or they'd be so clique-ish that they'd purposely snub you.

I only joined the BSN last year to look at spoilers for ME3 lol and I hadn't intended to actually join in, but I ended participating in the whole "lets rage about the ending/Retake ME3" thing and eventually got bored and started poking around the DA2 forum to see what it was like. That's then I found the companion/character/romance catagory and decided to see if there was a Cullen thread since I'd seen loads of people raving about him on YouTube and stuff and, although I found him cute in DA:O and interesting in DA2 I wasn't a fangirl and hadn't even considered that he could be in DA3... once I started reading everyones threads and theories I guess it just captured my imagination and I came to the conclusion that it would be crazy for him not to be in it. I guess I just decided to make it my mission to draw attention to his character in the hopes that maybe the writers would realise he was popular and let us have him as a companion.

*Edit* Who/what made you cry??

I hope we aren't clique-ish. I think we're pretty friendly! Well I'm probably a bit curmudgeon-y but the rest of you are great xD

I think I joined BSN in '11? After DA2 came out, like, that Fall after it came out. I'm not new to gaming, but I'm new to owning my own system and hence choosing my own games. So it's exciting to talk about it with other fans 8D

Oh well I shouldn't name names or anything :P

We're definitely clique-ish, but we don't exactly flaunt it. We defend our own, not a bad thing, but it's a bit...intimidating to other people.

It just occurred to me that I've no idea how many regular posters we actually have in here. It feels like there's loads of us because we jump pages so fast, but there can't be much more than maybe 15 of us at most?

Here is a question I have for you lot :D.

As someone who came to DA:O late in it's life I had the pleasure of playing through the game AND all it's DLC relatively one after another in a somewhat chronological order. (Leliana's Song/Origins/Warden's Keep/Stone Prisoner/Return to Ostagar/Finish Origins/Awakening/Golems of Amgarrak/Witch Hunt) so I got the full experience.

With Legacy and Mark of the Assassin for DA2 I'll get a relatively longer campaign and some of DA2's monotony/map reuse is broken up thus (for me and maybe some of you) an even better experience. With that said.

Do you guys think that Inquisition will be better with DLC or does the addition of missions, new characters and such just add fluff to the enjoyment you already felt?

Personally Origins is a 7 when I played it alone, but a 10 when I played all of it's DLC in the order I showed you. I was also considerably bummed by the news of a cancelled expansion though. So what are your opinions.

DLC, equally important....or fluff?
