I will be panic-stricken if all the heart options don't lead to romance LOL DA:O drives me nuts, never knowing if I'm picking the wrong response and am screwing up my chance FOREVER to romance this person.
About Aragorn and Arwen; I believe Aragorn died naturally of old age, and a year after his death, Arwen chose death as well. She is of Half-elven blood and can choose to die. Also, she never appears in the books; she's basically only a footnote. We have Peter Jackson and his (female) writers to thank for her more substantial presence in the films
Yeah they really changed her role in the movie lol.
I was going off the appendix where the part of the aragorn and arwen mini story is. But you're right it was about a year... sad part being it pretty much describes her as being empty, the light left her - she's nothing but grief as she dies alone on Cerin Amroth
lola I knew that thread was going to end up bad
I just think some like to use the internet to let their idiot side out on the safety of their own home because we cant actually reach through our screens and strangle them - though trust me Im working on it!
How would you guys feel if the dialogue options had no indication on them? That the flirts wern't obvious. That you just had to choose what you thought was the best at the time.
Would you be upset if you had no idea if you were going right with an LI until halfway through the game - or would you consider it a challenge to get it right w/o looking it up.
(edit still cant type this morning sigh)

I think most here would prefer not having obvious flirts... I like the obvious flirts
If you scroll back up a few pages I think Lola and someone else had some good suggestions about flirts and such.

I think most here would prefer not having obvious flirts... I like the obvious flirts... mostly because I seriously stress out if I think I've screwed up the romance. I almost cried when I thought I'd screwed up Isabela's romance, and she's not even my canon. Playing Skyrim right now, and I found a guide on marrying and have saved it to Word "Just in case," even though marriage in Skyrim is lame. That's how paranoid I am.

I've been reading it all
Can you imagine if your rep with someone was completely hidden - I'd go crazy with worry - Im like you I lke everything to be perfect lol.
I can't decide if I hate the idea that everything you do - side quests and such, affect your relationship. or if I love it because its a whole lot more indepth.
Save a blood mage? Hell no for Cullen lol... would be a lot better than it is now. I mean c'mon Wynne never complains that I made her a bloodmage!

There's an interesting thread about choices and consequences in the DA3 forum currently that goes into this kinda thing.
Personally I kinda like the idea of having no clue what lines of dialogue would please them, but I like experimenting with that sorta thing.

For all that I hate experimenting, I end up doing lots of reloads anyway to see how the other options go. LOL My only concern about "obvious" flags with the romances is that they're so easy to mess up... and that's includes how buggy they often are. Without something like, Fenris's red wrist thingie, you'd have no idea... and even then, it doesn't go away when you break up with him, intentionally or unintentionally.seismicMushroom wrote...

That's why the game needs MORE acknowledgement of the romance.
*PC leads the way into a cave*
Cullen: [PC's name]! Don't! We don't know what's in there!
Sera: *smirks* Aww, worried s/he's going to bump her/his pretty head?
Cullen: *looks embarrassed* I would express the same concern for any other member of our party!
Sera: Yeah right!
Of coure this would vary slightly depending on who the LI is and whether or not s/he is in your party. No LI present and PC enters the cave without comment from companions. Perhaps one of them mutters "Hope this isn't a bad idea" or something.

I would love to have more flags like this. Like the way they littered these kind of relationship references in MOTA and Legacy. That would be perfect. Then, you can breathe a sigh of relief. "Phew, he still love me!!" and do the happy dance.motomotogirl wrote...

Agreed. I remember the first time I played DA2 and romanced Anders, I clicked on him one time and he was like "I can't go on like this" and I clicked again and he was like "let's just get to the task at hand" and I was like... ****, did he just ditch my arse? As it turned out, he didn't, but I totally thought he had during the entire 3rd act until I went back to Hawke's mansion and saw him there.
I think little hints in ambient dialogue and banter would definitely be handy. I liked how they done it in DA:O when Wynne would comment on Alistair perving on the Warden etc.

Glad you made ur bail from the BSN LockUp. Lol!
anywho, yes, I did like the small romantic dialogue references in MotA. Nice Touch. And personally I would like to Not hve the heart icon. Although, I can understand those that do like them.
The romance in ME1 w/Kaidan I thought was pretty well done. There was that initial moment--if you caught it--on the Citadel View thing where you find out Kaidan is "interested" in you. Off hand comments, or slip ups.
There were no icons, it just kinda eveolved from the actual conversations. Plural. It didn't have a jump off the bat flirt option. You got to know them. It took awhile. I don't recall ever actually "hitting" on Kaidan....Well, not until much later in the game, but then it was appropriate dialogue.
It was a more subdued process.

...yes..there I said it, dammit! I would like that. Tee hee. A lil flavor. We're all up ion the tavern, or whatever. And sum goon tries to do something goon-y, and [insert LI here] hauls off and decks them.
Then of course it turns into a rolling melee of a bar brawl very quickly. And the PC & Companions end up having to hightail it out. The LI will never live it down. Lol!
