If Im reading right the castle is our base ,, yes?
Would make sense that they take time out of armor hanging around a castle. IMO anyway.
A camp out in the wilderness though I can understand.

I hope that is him and his outfit and not just a placeholder.
I quite like it.

Well Mike Laidlaw said that we may gain access to a castle that we "may or may not" be able to use. So yeah, I'd say that's our new home hub lol.

I hope we don't just automatically return to our castle when we need to rest though. I mean, sure it makes sense if we are in an area nearby to where the castle is. But if, for example, we're visiting somewhere like Ferelden again and our castle is in Orlais it would make no sense for us to suddenly return to the castle when we wanted to rest up. In which case, I'm hoping we'll have options to camp out and stay in taverns, maybe get the occasional opportunity to stay in a rich nobles chateau after saving his arse or something. Just a bit of variety y'know.

I always felt like she and Merrill  had their clothes paid for by Hawke.

Meanwhile...

Fenris: Hawke, can I have some money to buy some new clothes? This armor is really uncomfortable.
Hawke: No BUY YOUR OWN SH!T, YOU LAG-ABOUT!
Fenris: <_<

Lol.

Fenris: Hawke I'm going shopping to display my love for you...give me money.

Hawke: Sure have as much as I would give Merrill or Isabela :D

Fenris: I'm back...

Hawke: Umm where is your new outfit?

Fenris: I'm wearing it...

Hawke: You look the same

Fenris: *Broody face* No, *points at satchel and wrist band*

Hawke: That's the damn thing Isabela bought and put on her bicep!!! And that bag is from the basement <_<

Fenris: ...

Hawke: Where is the rest of the money anyway?!?

*Flashback to earlier this evening. Varric, Isabela, Anders and Fenris are at a table*

Fenris: Damn mages!!!

Anders: Don't be a sore elf, at least you have Isabela's little wrist band.

Isabela: Didn't want it anyway...

Fenris: Whatever...what are you going to buy with all that money anyway..

Anders: I saw this nice little black number in Lowtown...

Fenris: *grumbles*

Varric: Here by something nice for yourself elf, so Hawke doesn't yell at you....

*present*

Fenris: It was really expensice embroidary...

I imagine it'll be like DA2 and Awakening though, where our home base is on the map but always set in a certain area. I'd like for it to be a camp as well as a castle but idk how plausible that is. I imagine if it were just the castle then we'd have it at the center or Orlais or close enough to make it plausible to get to certain parts of the country in a timely manner.

I'm afraid Cullen might romance you in the armor :P unless they go back to the Origins' underwear scenes.

I wonder how long it'll be before we discover something new about DA3? Considering we aren't supposed to know anything other than the title and the fact that's a human protagonist, we've found out and been told a hell of a lot lol.

I'm thinking that things are gonna be pretty dry until Spring, there's only so much speculating you can do with the sprints, since it's always so vague and usually repetitive.

The only thing I can say the Sprint Reviews have taught me is that there is a very cool looking dragon involved at some point, and the developers have really uncomfortable chairs. Darrah said awhile back that there should be one near the end of January, maybe we'll be able to snoop something out then? Unlikely, but still a girl can dream.

I'm wondering if there will be one this month at all. Cam tweeted several days ago that there wouldn't be another for a few weeks. I'm guessing that the sprint tweets are gonna gradually start to become less and less as the game progresses because it'll be hard to tweet non-spoilerish stuff. Maybe it'll stop completely after Spring?

That's unfortunate  Sure the vague tweets drive me absolutely insane, but it's still nice to hear something about it. The devs seem a tad more socialable with the fans during the Sprint Review days as well, they've been pretty quiet as of late.

The toxic nature of the forum hasn't helped, I've noticed they only tend to throw us some hints when its not filled with hate threads. I'm guessing February is gonna be very quiet, especially if they plan to give us proper info around March/April/May time.

Huh, it must be since I just stick to this thread, but I don't really realize the level of negativity that they have to deal with on here. Things were always a bit varied, as far as opinions go, though it definitely seems like the ones w/ less than generous views about Bioware are the loudest (and most obnoxious) lately. The petition to get DG fired was by far the most ridiculous thing I have seen.

Ugh, I know I should be getting some sleep, but I just can't tear myself away from the dragon age tab on tumblr. At least I have nothing to do tomorrow!

There was a petition to get Gaider fired?! When did that happen?? That's absolutely absurd!

The only reason I really go into the DA3 forum is to check for dev posts, occasionally I get lucky and discover that one of them has dropped some hints, or outright given us some small detail about the game (like when Gaider mentioned in a thread that kissing your LI whenever you want will be back). Most of the time though it's either filled with the same repetitive threads or full of bickering and insults.

So I've just visited the DA3 forum and had a look at when it was first opened, it feels like it's been ages but in actual fact they only officially announce the game 4 months ago. In that time I swear the forum has got worse with it's negative behaviour... you'd think that the announcement of a new game would've put a positive spin on things.

I know DA2 had a mixed reception and the ME3 endings caused massive fallout, but you'd think that the fans would want to do their best to ensure that the devs are aware of their concerns without stamping around throwing their toys out of the pram over something they've not even seen yet.

It happened soon after DA 2 was release, or right before. I can't really remember (but I'm pretty sure it was after) I completely forgot their reasoning, as I barely glanced at it for nothing more than curiosity, but yea, they were all about it. I think that's when they started having to crack down on attacks on specific members of the development team, which makes me sad in so many ways. How that even needs to be stated as a rule is just depressing.

There was also this big to-do between the Fenris and Varric threads before the game came out. That was bizarre. The Fenris thread (where I mostly hung out in) was being attacked by those in the Varric thread, because some were making comments about Varric being ugly, or a bad romance option (I need to point out here that I was NOT one of those people. I actually made an effort after that to spend more time in the Varric thread as I found him just as wonderful) Also the Varric posters were being attacked, saying that they were clique-y and rude to new posters. Overall, the whole thing was stupid and almost got both threads locked.

Heh, I feel like I'm a bard recounting the many battles of the BSN. Allow me sing you a diddy, doo dee doo dee da!

Oh gawd, we've got all this to come if Cullen really is a companion/LI! People already accuse us of being rude to users asking "genuine questions" about Cullen's behaviour and why we like him etc. I think we'll just have to be very tolerant and hope that the new wave of Cullen fans won't freak out at the attacks we'll get or get our thread closed down lol. I know the ME3 romance threads got completely closed down after the Kaidan fans launched some sort of attack against people insulting him or something? Kinda funny really.

I recall hearing about BioWare fans attacking Hepler over a passing comment in an interview that got completely twisted out of context, but that was a long time before I even knew what the BSN was though lol.

I'd romanced the arse of Varric given half the chance LOL! He's was definitely my favourite in DA2. Admittedly, I'm kinda looking forward to when the DA3 LI's get announced mainly because it'll be fun to speculate, but also because I love all the funny notions people form about a new character based on their physical appearance, only for it to be completely wrong when you finally play the game.

We will definitely need to don our armor if Cullen is announced as a companion/LI. The main reason I think people find us "rude" when answering those kinds of questions is 1. There's such a huge rush of passionate responses all at once, it can be a bit overwhelming and 2. We've been asked it SO many times, of course our answers are going to seem a bit curt and defensive after awhile. It's not like we haven't been attacked for no reason already, and with the general tone of the thread's attitude towards Cullen as of late, we're obviously going to think the worst.

Still, for the most part I think we are pretty patient and calm. Hell, we've got a reputation for being the nicest fandom on the BSN!

I wouldn't say I was super interested in a Varric romance at first, but I did think he was a kick a** character. Then once I got in game, and got him talking, the "oh yea I'd hit that" attitude kicked in.

Once the new lot start pouring in we'll probably loose the "friendly" rep since everyones gonna be super excited. Even though we'd know how to deal with the hate, the new ones would be all passionate and "rawr" about everything lol.

It'll feel so weird in the DA3 Cullen romance thread when/if he's announced because there's gonna be so many new people that having the kind of speculative conversation we have in here currently is gonna get buried in "OMG! I'M GONNA SHAG HIM!!!" LOL.

That sounds like a plan! We'll retreat back here for proper conversation and then pop back into the DA3 Cullen thread to mindlessly squee until the hype calms down. Genius!
