A serious wth? moment for Cullen. I can see him thinking in that moment ".....uh.....what just happened here?"
Also, if Hawke was the most powerful person in Kirkwall..after Meredith...then I can imagine all the Templars were pretty confused as to what to do right then. Hawke could be the friggin Viscount. There is No power in Kirkwall at that moment.
No Chantry/Grand Cleric. No Meredith. Not even a First Enchanter. Even tho that would kinda make it look like Hawke was angling to take over Kirkwall the whole time.
Especially w/the idol being what poisoned Meredith. And her doing friggin' backflips and making statues come alive.
Yeah, Hawke and co. definitely needed to hightail it outta Kirkwall. I wish I knew what Templar did show up after.
Where do you think Hawke and co. would have run to initially? I imagine they hopped on Isabela's boat and..maybe Antiva, or Rivain? To at least get supplies for being on the run.
And yes, I imagine that they would be on the run. Alot of stuff went down in Kirkwall. There's a lot of 'splainin' to do.
Hawke being "missing" doesn't surprise me. Coupled w/the Warden then it's odd. But initially, no.

Yeah, Isabela's boat, especially if Isabela is the LI. Aveline stays in Kirkwall with Donnic though. Anders may go off on his own, if he isn't Hawke's LI. My Hawke is usually with Fenris, so I'd actually imagine them traveling with her for quite some time, at least until she decided to get down to business and run a proper pirate ship again. Then they'd go into hiding. Merrill might join Isabela, especially if she's smashed the mirror. Varric might have actually stayed in Kirkwall.
Headcanons are special things :innocent:
I read a great (sad) fic of Anders and Hawke running away after the events in Kirkwall.

That actually reminds me of something Varric says in the pro-templar eding in regards to him/her disappearing from Kirkwall eventually:
Varric: "Yes, it's funny how fortunes change"
Sounds like something bad happened whilst Hawke stayed in Kirkwall. Makes me wonder if he/she had to make his/her escape due to trouble from the mage/templar war or due to this "disappearance", thus why Cassandra wasn't looking for Hawke in the first place and (possibly) why Cullen may be in a bad situation when we finally meet him in DA3.

Ok, so I'm lurking in that petalsandthorns thread and the question Auddi (I dunno if that's any of you) is VERY interesting indeed, especially when it comes to our Cullen theory. Have you guys got any thoughts about it?
Am I missing something? She asked how Tonia got into writing for BW, and then complimented her on Charade and Kelder. Doesn't seem too Cullen related, but maybe I'm missing something *strokes chin*

I always thought that the companions (including Bethany/Carver only if they were a circle mage/templar) all ran off together in the pro-mage ending because they were all "guilty" for slaying Meredith and the only reason that they stayed in the pro-templar one was because Hawke's power in Kirkwall keeps them immune from punishment.
Presumably they all stayed together for anywhere between a few months to roughly 2 or 3 + years depending on when DA3 occurs after Asunder. My guess is that the game will take place either immediately or a few weeks after Lambert severed the Nevarran Accord.

Well, my theory was that Tonia possibly wrote Cullen's companion dialogue. However, when she joined BioWare full time after her schooling they had started working on DA3. So I was thinking that maybe, despite doing an internship that she would've still been considered too "new" to work on a full companion... unless it was a shared role with one of the others maybe?
*Shrugs* then again, everyone has to start somewhere and she'd already proved herself more than capable of writing good plots and characters during her internship with them.

It's ok, I'm awake now!
*Thinks* Ok, I've got two options to remedy this. 1) I try to think up some decent questions. 2) I talk to myself until someone intervenes LOL.

O_O I just had an awesome thought about who Mr. Bitey is! What if he's a very powerful dragon or the major Dragon Age of DA3? Like Urthemiel was the "cover" dragon for Origins and Flemeth's dragon form was the major dragon for DA2? You don't necessarily need him/her to be a major facet of the game if the previous two are an example.
I was thinking that Mr.Bitey was either an Orlesian nobles weird pet or it's some kind of demon. It could be a dragon though!
I really hope they do, but then again I just like how each game has these terrifying super dragons. I like recurring themes in games
I forgot who it was that posted that pic, but they stated specifically that Mr. Bitey was "not a dragon" Could be the name of the PCs Mabari (if they are continuing w/ that trend for this game) or maybe a nickname for one of our companions? Not sure what exactly they would have done to gain that title though

He gets a bit bitey when he's in the mood.

I'll upload them to Tumblr for all to see LOL! I saw a good one earlier with Bann Tegan offering his services, figured I'd try it out for myself, with hilarious results!

LMAO!!! I tend to avoid putting on captions for that reason! Ahaha! But then it is quite entertaining!
I think the "Shapely" one is the best, if only for the epic timing of the screen cap that came with it!
