Danny, it's my feeling that the Shadow specs are more for sneaky business but the Assassin perks are more for efficiency in a quick kill. Shadow lets you dart around to avoid being hit. Assassin let's you say "You'll never have the chance to hit me because you'll already be dead". I personally go with the Assassin tree and don't normally even touch the Shadow.
LOL Our rogue-master chimes in! Yeah, um, what she said!![]()
Okay master assassin, here's another question
In DA2 am I right in assuming that the game was more centered around mage vs. non-mage or did the game recognize the difference between a rogue and a warrior better than I think it did?

Only STATED recognition of Hawke's status as a rogue that I can recall is Bethany once saying, "My brother, the rogue..." or something to that degree. Or there might have been an instance when she was talking about their mother, and how she loved her "warrior and her rogue" (Carver and Hawke), etc.
Otherwise, I don't recall anyone else acknowledging that Hawke is a rogue...

So just to clarify you're saying that it was more of non-mage vs mage? Rather than mage vs. rogue vs. warrior? I just want to make sure I understand

Um well I think the entire series is based around a person being a mage or not-a-mage.

If you're asking what I think DA2 was centered on I'd say it felt like the game as a whole was to set up for the bigger conflict to come. The mage / non-mage did feel like "us against them" though, didn't it? I don't think it mattered if you played rogue or warrior. That seemed to boil down more to personal play preference. At least if you rolled mage you had that "oh Maker, I hope I don't get caught!" anxiety... at least until you figured out that no one was going to call you on it. LOLDanny Boy 7 wrote...

oh, boy! Do you think that top pic is really from da3? i think it is. and if it is...wow..look at those ghost-y/fire-y/ scarey things. where is that supposed to be anyway? does it say?
and man, i wish the fade really did look like that in game.
as far as reliable sources and all that, i'd rather see the info myself and come to my own conclusions abt how reliable it is. instead of having ppl "shield" me from it.
give me everything, and i'll figure it out.
the twitter thread is just speculation. pure and simple. but hey, if they don't wanna know...forget 'em.
that's why this is my fav thread. i can relax and enjoy every bit of fluff. it's fun to just kick back; take off the bra and let the "girls" swing free...figuratively speaking. you know..

It did.
Okay let me explain to everyone
It just bothers me because rogues are awesome, but they tend to get sharfted because a lot of their skills tend to be...adopted by other classes or put into a general tree, know what I mean? MotA was great because it finally gave rogues a semi-stealthy moment, but I'd like for their to be more er...roguey moments.
At any rate the question still stands. Am I just making this stuff up or does the Rogue seem to get...er shafted for lack of a better term lol.

geez, it wasn't until i stopped running everywhere lol! tht i heard what ppl were sying. one dude i strolled by said, "move along, Dog!"
gasp! i was like, "what?! what did you say to me, Mofo!?!" i took out my daggers...and couldn't do anything to him. arrrgggh! Lol!
even when i first got to hightown, sum lady said sumthing..."well, i hope the qunari don't move into hightown (too)" i'm not sure if she said "too", but i was like what's that supposed to mean?
anyway, i got more crap from npc's for being from fereldan than for being a mage.

edit: i do wish rogues in DA had a stelath murder mode. you can sneak up behind them and quietly take them down.

Oh, okay. I don't think your original question was specifically about rogues.
No, I don't think DA2 favors warriors over rogues. They're treated similarly. There's that great knife-throwing option that's open only to rogues during Feynriel's rescue quest.
class didn't matter as much in DA:O I think because the worldview was maybe less thought out. It was a simpler game. In retrospect, people SHOULD have viewed a mage Warden suspiciously, but they didn't.

in MotA i had the opportunity to go stealth, and i declined. everytime. idk why. Tallis was quite put out with me and my bloodlust. ha! poor thing.

Lol daggers are cool. I just guess I thought it was sort of generalized into non-mage if that makes any sense? I'm worrying because I'm hoping to play a rogue this time around. I've tried them out in both other games. but always felt like they were a bit eclipsed by the other two classes.
Would have been nice to see like a third companion at the beginning (not that I didn't like the twins), I just hope Rogues are super special this time around

i liked stealth killing in Amalur. it was great fun. and of course you had to invest points to increase ur stealth abilities. and the stealth in general was great fun

I picked stealth simply because I was bored of killing waves of bad guys all the time. It needed some improvement though, but it made a nice change.

so, if i want Carver in the party, i have to play mage.
what would be sum nice unique rogue skills? besides lockpicking and traps.
1)stealth killing definitely
2)i would like lil murder knives like tallis had to throw at range whenever i wanted. not just cutscene

Well you'd throw a stone to distract the guard and then you'd have a short window to sneak past before he/she detects you.
