Loghain heh
Guess I'll have to keep him alive in at least one pt.

Im thinking its a given that sandal will be around.
Wouldn't be a DA w/o Sandal!

If not Mage or Templar cover editions, then male or female defaults will do.

Loghain? What if you killed him?

Well we're not exactly sure whether Loghain is actually in the game, but I imagine if he is that it'll be handled similarly to Alistair as a Grey Warden. We might have Stroud be our replacement for Loghain as well as GW Alistair.

What if it's both :P Male Protagonist is on the templar side while Female Protagonist is on the Mage side. Could be interesting.

These are from the wiki, right...? I still don't think we should promote this as additional "information", given the fact that someone heard the rumors and added the rumors to the wiki without citations. But anyway, I believe the Sandal rumor is from a suggestive tweet by his VA  and the Loghain rumor was something similar. I don't know what the Sten rumor is based upon. We all know where the Cullen rumor comes from, particularly since it was added to the wiki the day after Ellis tweet about his VO session. Most of that's already on the twitter thread, right?

Or Loghain could be a side quest, like Nate, where he only shows up if you didn't kill him.

Okay, I'll come up with Cullen-related "what if's" to relieve the boredom!

1. What if Cullen's class changes in DA3? i.e. He's a rogue or a two-handed warrior instead of weapon and shield. Will you be annoyed?

2. What if Cullen reveals he has a close family member who is a mage. What if that person is an APOSTATE?

3. What if his "look" changes? His hair is no longer curly, or it's long, or it's the wrong color. All courtesy of the new engine, so the artists are like, "It wasn't our fault!"

4. What if in order to recruit Cullen you have to be very pro-Templar and kill innocent mages?

1. I imagine he won't suddenly be a mage, but as a Rogue honestly meh he might have been trained when he was a templar, they had "rogues" in Kirkwall so I imagine it wouldn't be too big a stretch. I'd still be irritated but thats purely out of a...hates inconsistency in his video games attitude. If he switches to two daggers he'd need to explain, but if he went back to two-handed swords than I'd chalk it up to he goes with what he wants to fight with at the time. I prefer him with a sword and shield though.

2. Well if that apostate is an utter a-hole than I might understand why he was initially rather nice to mages/isn't a zealot. She/he is his family and despite being a mess he probably still love them. But if that person isn't mean or just an ass in general than I'd be scratching my head because he gets VERY anti-mage in Origins and early parts of DA2. Just wouldn't fit in my mind.

3. People change and as long as the structure of his face and eye color stays the same I'll be fine, but if it's as drastic as you say and a fault of the engine than it's fine. If it's artistic change than I might have an issue but once again it'll be an consistency irritation. If his personality changes drastically as well than that'll be it, he'll be a different character just with the name Cullen and I'll hate that. (But I'll probably get over it.)

4. Pro-Templar, not a problem, pro-killing innocents = problem. I just can't kill innocents in my canon playthrough or my normal playthroughs. I'll do it just to do it, but it will be for laughs or to just see what happens. Than again we have youtube and I could load to just before the quest and see what happens, but otherwise I won't recruit him if he is. Be a little dissapointed, but that's what we have to expect. They might make him into stabby stabby kill kill Cullen. It'd be odd considering their comments on him, but I'd accept it like I accepted Anders in DA2, but that depends on what reason they give.

I love this idea. Although... if we're right that thinking of the world  in a templar vs. mage world is not the appropriate paradigm, given DG's recent comment, then that  may be too "black and white." It would be cool, though!

I'm thinking that it's gonna be background noise, important noise, but noise all the same. It's gonna drive our story like the Blight did in Origins but it's also going to be like the Blight in that the only battles we partook in were the Battle of Ostagar and Battle of Denerim. We weren't really fighting against them throughout the game, since we're told that the Southern Bannorn was doing most of the fighting.

As for the cover though it could be a reversable cover again like ME3's, but I wouldn't mind different editions if that makes sense? Like the Templar edition has certain DLC armors, while the mage one has cool robes. T'would be interesting.

I think this would make me angry. What if I want to play both sides? All or nothing, baby! lol

To be honest, if we get a split or dual cover, I'd rather they do female, male protagonists, like with ME.

This is a random question and I hope my stupid isn't showing: Is there some kind of elite mage task force? Like a black ops group of secret highly trained battle mages that no one speaks of but everyone suspects exists?

It's not stupid :P. I dunno about highly trained mages that no body talks about, but Magisters are pretty powerful. There are also the Death Mages of Nevarra, but I have absolutely no idea what they're all about. Main reason being that besides the circles and Tevinter there really aren't any huge bodies of mages congregating.

Hmmm.... I was just daydreaming about how crazy it'd be to find out that one of the anti-mage factions actually has their own team of secret uber mages. Fight fire with fire, as it were.

Do you think I meant two seperate games? I was talking about like...Collector's Editions not that the games would be seperated :P. They would probably make all the new stuff available later anyway I just meant to seperate box covers :P

This is something I headcanon about the Seekers now that they're split from the Chantry. They keep control of the Towers and kill all mages... except the few they plan on exploiting to fight fire with fire.

Danny - I misunderstood that then. I did think you meant two separate games. Derp.

R2 - I hadn't considered the Seekers doing that. I was thinking that maybe the Chantry had a secret stash of mages... just in case of uprisings or veil tears. Also for research perhaps.

I could see that as well, although I've never heard of anything like that yet. Sort of like what you can let Avernus do at Soldier's Peak.

Sort of, yes. If they had a mage of each specialty - ie: healer, elemental, force, etc. - then they'd be able to use them to find the best line of defense against each.

Anyway, I wasn't really going anywhere with this. Just thinking out loud due to boredom. Posted Image

I felt like such an idiot when I was buying ME3 from Gamestop. It was the midnight release, so there were a bunch of people there, and when it came my turn to get my copy I asked if I was able to get the female cover. The guy looks at me like I'm stupid, then tells me that the covers are reversable, they all have both male and female covers <_< I did get him to give me a free banner/flag thingy though!

Edit: Just saw this tweet, made me really sad :crying:

Chris Priestly:
Apparently it is Community Manager Appreciation Day today. In light of this news, we are shutting off the internet until tomorrow.

We appreciate you Chris! And Jessica too! I wish the forums were still a place in which they wished to participate, but I understand why they choose not to.

So I saw this and even though I think it's a fake (her hair is wrong and she has a sword in a sheath!?!?!?!) I thought the dress was nice.
