If not Mage or Templar cover editions, then male or female defaults will do.
Loghain? What if you killed him?

Or Loghain could be a side quest, like Nate, where he only shows up if you didn't kill him.Danny Boy 7 wrote...

Well we're not exactly sure whether Loghain is actually in the game, but I imagine if he is that it'll be handled similarly to Alistair as a Grey Warden. We might have Stroud be our replacement for Loghain as well as GW Alistair.
What if it's bothMale Protagonist is on the templar side while Female Protagonist is on the Mage side. Could be interesting.

Okay, I'll come up with Cullen-related "what if's" to relieve the boredom!
1. What if Cullen's class changes in DA3? i.e. He's a rogue or a two-handed warrior instead of weapon and shield. Will you be annoyed?
2. What if Cullen reveals he has a close family member who is a mage. What if that person is an APOSTATE?
3. What if his "look" changes? His hair is no longer curly, or it's long, or it's the wrong color. All courtesy of the new engine, so the artists are like, "It wasn't our fault!"
4. What if in order to recruit Cullen you have to be very pro-Templar and kill innocent mages?

Or if your import didn't work...<_<
I love this idea. Although... if we're right that thinking of the world in a templar vs. mage world is not the appropriate paradigm, given DG's recent comment, then that may be too "black and white." It would be cool, though!Wiedzmin182009 wrote...
When #DA3 is released. Will we get 2 different covers? Templar Edition and Mage Edition? Just asking

I think this would make me angry. What if I want to play both sides? All or nothing, baby! lolDanny Boy 7 wrote...

I'm thinking that it's gonna be background noise, important noise, but noise all the same. It's gonna drive our story like the Blight did in Origins but it's also going to be like the Blight in that the only battles we partook in were the Battle of Ostagar and Battle of Denerim. We weren't really fighting against them throughout the game, since we're told that the Southern Bannorn was doing most of the fighting.
As for the cover though it could be a reversable cover again like ME3's, but I wouldn't mind different editions if that makes sense? Like the Templar edition has certain DLC armors, while the mage one has cool robes. T'would be interesting.

This is a random question and I hope my stupid isn't showing: Is there some kind of elite mage task force? Like a black ops group of secret highly trained battle mages that no one speaks of but everyone suspects exists?
Hmmm.... I was just daydreaming about how crazy it'd be to find out that one of the anti-mage factions actually has their own team of secret uber mages. Fight fire with fire, as it were.Danny Boy 7 wrote...

It's not stupid. I dunno about highly trained mages that no body talks about, but Magisters are pretty powerful. There are also the Death Mages of Nevarra, but I have absolutely no idea what they're all about. Main reason being that besides the circles and Tevinter there really aren't any huge bodies of mages congregating.

This is something I headcanon about the Seekers now that they're split from the Chantry. They keep control of the Towers and kill all mages... except the few they plan on exploiting to fight fire with fire.meanieweenie wrote...

R2 - I hadn't considered the Seekers doing that. I was thinking that maybe the Chantry had a secret stash of mages... just in case of uprisings or veil tears. Also for research perhaps.
Sort of, yes. If they had a mage of each specialty - ie: healer, elemental, force, etc. - then they'd be able to use them to find the best line of defense against each.R2s Muse wrote...

I could see that as well, although I've never heard of anything like that yet. Sort of like what you can let Avernus do at Soldier's Peak.

To be honest, if we get a split or dual cover, I'd rather they do female, male protagonists, like with ME.
