Lol, well that didn't answer anything.
Well if you add his previous quotes it actually makes things more clear

Oh mystery solved, I asked David Gaider about the Divine in DotS and it wasn't Justinia. Coulnd't have been her, the one in the movie was as inactive as the Grand Cleric on DA2

Ok so that wasn't supposed to be Justinia? I'm so confused, I think I may need to rewatch DotS.
Interesting. The movie does seem to call her only "the Divine" in the credits and in most of the dialogue. Mike Laidlaw in the behind the scenes says explicitly, however, that we might see the Divine again because all these characters "are canon". LOL If it's Beatrix, hard to see her again since she died in 9:34.R2s Muse wrote...

LOL So, this doesn't explain anything! According to the movie people, that was Justinia V. So, someone made a mistake. Can you respond to him with the funimation link that says it's Justinia V?? I'm starting to think the movie people just frakked up, but David wasn't directly involved with the movie, so he could also just not know.
Or... just ask him flat out what year the movie took place!

So, best scenario is that the movie creators got it wrong. But, in any event, it still doesn't tell us when the movie took place. If it's Beatrix, now all we know is that the movie took place between 9:21 and 9:34.

Ummm, you knoooowww, I think DotS just effed up the dates. The movie ppl.
They say it was Justinia. She's old. Even that bartender guy in DA2 commented on the fact that the Divine was getting really old and had not named a successor yet. And how that would cause lotsa problems if she died w/out doing that.
This goes the same for that Kirkwall comment. It was s aid in such a way and situation that the only logical conclusion would be that it was referring to the Chantry blow up. That one Templar guy said it. I see him as the type that would luv for Templars to rule everything.
The only thing that makes any sense is that DotS was intended to be right after DA2, but before Cass interrogates Varric. And shows Cassandra starting her pilgrimage.
I think the movie ppl just dated it wrong, or something. The DA team were not directly involved, if at all. I think Gaider is just...shuffling papers with this one.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if the Funimation folks originally tried to place it between 9:37 and 9:40 and later had to change it. It all just makes no sense. Cassandra does seem young and in training. I don't know that I'd call Justinia young and kickass (since she was Dorothea in Leliana's song), but definitely younger than death's doorstep.Renmiri1 wrote...

Is confusing because the movie shows Cassandra like 10 years younger than DA2, when she was just starting as seeker, with a very old (and inactive) Divine that leaves most of the day to day decisions to the Orlais Grand Cleric. The Exiled Prince DLC and Asunder have a young kickass Divine that hires Leliana - not the Orlais Grand Cleric - as her right hand.
So the movie and Varric's interrogation can't be only 1-2 years apart.
Yet funimation says it is Justine and mentions Kirkwall, which seems to bring the movie to the 1-2 years beteween Meredith's death and Varric's interrogation.
I put both pics on my tumblr, if anyone wants a quick reference

So, Renmiri, I cribbed your idea and just asked David straight out about the date. You were right, Dawn of the Seeker takes place immediately after the Perrin rebellion, in 9:22!
Of course... now the real speculation begins. How old is Cassandra?? Now I'm think she's got to be really young in the movie. If she were Templar recruit young, 15-16, then in DA2 she'd be 33-34.

If she is that age in DA2, then she looks really good. Pixels always age really well! No frown lines or anything!
Agree, I would put her in her 30s, too (like Cullen). But then... that's much younger than I expected during DotS. I mean, she's 16 years old and becoming the Champion of Orlais? Wow. *cough*overachiever*cough*motomotogirl wrote...

She looks her age actually. I'm 32 and don't have any "frown lines" or ... not sure what you mean by anything. But I always thought she was in her 30s.
