Hey just for clarification, er besides Nan there wasn't any racism in the Human Noble Origin was there?
I do recall that when first played the HN I noticed right off that the servants were all elves. This really struck me and made me realize that humans see elves as different and lesser. So I do consider that racism.

Could also be that the Couslands wanted to give as many jobs to elves as possible

Oh
But I was specifically talking about a kitchen scene... I think. And I picked up on that pretty quickly.

It doesn't mean they are racists though.
It was said Highever had one of the best Alienages in Ferelden.

I believe that was actually acknowledged a long time ago as a writing error.
Oh and I hope I don't sound testy...I play primarily Dwarves and Humans/mages. I enjoyed the elves but its not my favorite Origin. )
(Although I did prefer city elf to dalish)
I get really annoyed when people diss the Cousland Origin just for the sake of hating it.

Why is it an error? Iona only says she hears that the Couslands are good to their elven servants. It's not like she would dare tell a Cousland that they are awful though.
While in the city elf origin, Nessa's father says he hears Highever is worse. Nelaros, who is from Highever, says the Denerim humans are "friendlier" than they are at Highever.

Oh no, I really hope they find a good home. I just can't believe that if they don't find a home by March, they would put healthy animals down
Re the talk of elves, generally they are seen as second class citizens, which I have noticed from some of the comments made when playing an elven warden.
There is an undercurrent of 'racism' througout the whole of Dragon Age between all classes/origins (as there is in Mass Effect between the different alien groups).
@R2s Muse - Looking forward to reading your story. It will be good to read a Hawke story (I read a lot of Amell/Surana ones!). Currently reading Asunder at the moment so I can get up to speed (it's really good). Still finding out about Cole, he is very intriguing.
