Hey this is off-topic, but can someone remind me of the way in which the Anders romance was originally bugged? I only recall that it was fixed at some point, but I had done my Anders romance PT before the (PC) patch was released. Plus, I was under the impression that you needed to start a new PT to get the patch to fix it...? Is this sounding at all familiar? I thought it was something with how/whether he shows up at the Gallows during the Last Straw and perhaps how he talks to you/whether or not he kisses you during the goodbyes scene?

I want to go back and replay that part without replaying the whole game, but want to make sure I know whether it's correct or not. Thanks in advance!

He used to ninja-mance you even if you didn't show interest. And you lost a lot of friendship by refusing. Now you lose just 10 points I think.

You can't get the kiss scene at the end without a mod, I think. And is awful because he kisses you goodbye before killing himself for siding with templars (you forced him to do it).

So, he still doesn't kiss you?? Under any circumstances, at the end?  I was trying to remember what happened and that's sounding vaguely familiar now. Could it be that he doesn't treat me like a romance at all during the goodbyes...? Hmm, I always thought that was fixed, but I never did another Anders romance to go back and find out what was fixed. Thanks!

No news.

For DLC, personally, I'd recommend them all except possibly the item packs. But definitely Legacy, MOTA and Exiled Prince. The first two have awesome standalone stories and great companion interactions and banter. The last of course adds a companion and some story onto the main campaign that has potential relevance for the future. The items packs are cool, and have some cool stuff, particularly the companion stuff and some of the new robes, but nothing beats the Champion armor, IMO. (well... except maybe the armor you get at the end of Legacy...)

Anyhoo, that's my $0.02.

I have only friendmanced him and always side with the mages, and he never kisses Hawke. But they're definitely in a romance. He just doesn't kiss him/her.

It's part of the reason why Anders' romance was a wee bit of a let down for me after Fenris'. Not that Anders is a better character or anything of the sort, but I was expecting that big romantic kiss! lol

There is a bug that continues to plague the Anders friendship and friendmance, however, and it has to do with the cold way Anders acknowledges Hawke in (I believe) Act 3 while speaking to Varric in the Hanged Man.

Agree with R2 mostly! Definitely Legacy. Be sure to play Legacy after Act 2 and before Act 3 (it works best that way). MOTA is great, too... it's very beautiful, and it's just pure gold if your Hawke is sarcastic. Great romance banter, too. 

Exiled Prince, only because I agree it *could* affect DA3. But I found Sebastian didn't add much to the story. Which isn't to say he SHOULDN'T have, because he's an awesome character and his VA is equally awesome, but he just felt tacked on (sadly).

I have purchased both Item Packs because I can't mod xbox other than to change outfits on companions and whatnot, so the new outfits were nice. Plus the weapons let you cleave through the entire game basically.

I thought he was just refering to it as "sexy" because he was enjoying that particular piece of dialogue that he was working on. Since he's not exactly keen on romance in his games I'd presume that he doesn't mean "sexy" in a literal sense lol.

LOL I think I prefer to interpret it like BBM, and that he was writing romance dialogue!  Of course, he could be saying sexy=cool, but I hate it when that word is used that way (like scientists talking about sexy science... um, no thank you!). So, I'm going to hope it was Cullen... in the conservatory ... with the leadpipe... erm, and flowers.

Interestingly, it didn't feel like a bug at the time since I sort of felt like Anders had been steadily pulling away from me in Act 3 anyway. Like, when he stood in my place after he moved in and off-hand said, "I need to find a nicer place." Grr. I had always thought that they fixed the kiss thing with a patch, tho.

My Andersmance was also on PT #2, which admittedly underwhelmed me as well after my Fenrismance in PT#1.  I wish I had done them in the opposite order, since I was SO SHOCKED about the Chantry in the first one and would have liked to have experienced all of that new with Anders as my LI.

LOL, I friendmanced Anders as a female Hawke during my first ever playthrough and I thought he had ditched her in Act 3 from the way he was acting/talking. I was also very shocked when he blew up the Chantry because I genuinely thought that we'd collected all that ****** 'n' sh!t to help separate him from Justice... I should've remembered that manure can be used as a component in bomb making, plus during the investigative route I never questioned him about it, so he never admitted to me that he'd tricked me into helping him.

Oh, I was so upset about that. I had gone in that loop in the dialogue where it's obvious he's hiding *something* from  you... but of course, you don't find out what it was, and I loved him, so  I helped him anyway. But, wow. Then Seb points out that YOU were a party to the explosion. Guilty times galore.

I'm working on the backstory for a character who has since broken up with Anders, so I'm trying to remember what actually happens in game before I start making sh!t up. LOL

Yeah, all I meant was that he still doesn't tell you what he's planning, which probably would have changed a lot of our minds...
