Wha...I thought I was looking at the architecture around here. Seriously. I have a lot of French influence in my area and that architecture looks very similar to it. No doubt Bioware is pushing a lot of French similarities on Orlais.

I know this wouldn't happen, but let's say hypothetically that DA3 gave us npc romances options as well as companion love interests. If Cullen didn't make it into a companion/LI role and was available to be romanced as an npc, BUT the romance for npcs were incredibly lacklustre and empty compared to the companion romance arcs, would you still pick him over the companion options on offer?

I think I'd romance Cullen first, then in subsquent playthroughs test out all the other available romances options (both npc and companion ones) and then for my final canon playthrough to be imported into DA4 I'd pick Cullen, even if his romance arc was utter bollocks, simply because I've been waiting to get my hands on him for 2 games already and I feel like the poor guy really needs some affection in his life.

For comparison, my 'canon' Hawke, who was also my first Hawke, actively turned down the LIs in DA2. The ways those romances are triggered didn't seem in character for her, and getting involved with Anders or Fenris seemed very out of character for her. So, that play through was completely (and happily) romance free. For a variety of reasons, I alt-canon/headcanon a relationship with that Hawke and Cullen, which is the subject of some fanfic along with an interesting "what if" exercise for how that changes or adds to the nature of DA2's story.

My general feeling is that I let my PCs romance whomever feels right for them. If no one feels right, they romance no one. If a side love interest with an NPC is the only person who feels right, than that's who it is. If they shag everyone in creation because that's what feel right for them, that's what will happen.

So, if Cullen was an side-romance as an NPC in DA3, it all depends on what feels right for my first Inquistor. Maybe yes, maybe no. After that, I would roll a character just to shag him.

For instance, in DA2, I've created Hawkes who were made specifically to romance or rivalmance certain LIs. But first play through is a big open question.

@deuce Nah, I made a dwarf castless instead, since I've never played through that origin before. I don't really love playing a dwarf, but she is so dang adorable!

Woah! Hold up! Those look an awful lot like Templars in that concept art and I don't see any fluffy fur stoles around any of them.

So if that survey leak is legit then Cullen's outfit is definitely not Templar uniform. Hm, very interesting!

You know, we should go back and see how Evangeline's uniform is described, and whether she's wearing a skirt or not.  Of course, the DotS templars didn't have skirts and wore the sword of mercy in the same spot as Cullen's... altho, obviously there are ... issues with taking the details of that movie as gospel.
