Orlais official concept art ;)

Wait, I'm confused. Is this from World of Thedas? Or more Wiedzmin art? Why does it have a dragon-age.com.pl watermark then...?

Came from the World of Thedas concept art aparently. So I guess it's legit.

Yes

R2: Can you recall what her armor was described as? I think there was a description at the beginning when she was guarding the Divine at that swanky party, but I dunno if that would be her "special" armor worn specifically for important occasions.

Woah! Hold up! Those look an awful lot like Templars in that concept art and I don't see any fluffy fur stoles around any of them.

So if that survey leak is legit then Cullen's outfit is definitely not Templar uniform. Hm, very interesting!

You know, we should go back and see how Evangeline's uniform is described, and whether she's wearing a skirt or not.  Of course, the DotS templars didn't have skirts and wore the sword of mercy in the same spot as Cullen's... altho, obviously there are ... issues with taking the details of that movie as gospel.

This is not Templars. This bucket-head.

Because I was looking this picture 3 months.

Um, I'm sorry, I'm not sure I quite follow. You've working on it for 3 months?  Or waiting for it...? Is it from that Web site then?

LOL, they're definitely Templars... although DotS does have some inconsistences, like its Templar armor in comparison to the games.

"Her templar plate had been polished to a shine, and she wore her finest red tunic, the one with the Chantry starburst sewn in gold thread."

It sounds like the red tunic bit was just something extra she chose to wear for the party, but other than that it's just described as her regular templar armor.

I'll have to look it up. All I recall from what I most recently read was shiny and with some distinctive red cape she specifically doesn't wear during the final conclave in the book.

You probably shouldn't put your logo on the concept art though, BioWare/EA can sue the arse off you for stuff like that since it technically belongs to them. Plus, it's confusing people into thinking that you're part of BioWare/EA yourself.

thanks, nikki! Interesting. And, Cullen's tunic always look red with gold edging, so that still sounds almost "standard issue."

Thanks Nikki! Well, sounds like that's regular armor then, same as the ones in the Orlais concept art. So Cullen's survey outfit is definitely not Chantry regulation stuff.

Am I the only one that thinks the Origins design, texture, etc look WAY better?

I prefer the original DA:O Templar outfit too.

I think it looks more striking, but not remotely realistic as far being able to actually move. For the latter, I prefer the DA2 version, which seems to have working pieces with real buckles (and more realistic ways of being... removed...).

Yes, they're still obviously templars. For all we know, the DotS is just the old version since it's eight years before DA:O. Or, just... non-canon, despite M. Laidlaw specifically saying the movie is "canon." *sigh* Who knows.

You should probably add to the pictures that the art belongs to BioWare, otherwise you could end up with legal problems too lol.

Do not worry about the copyright ;)

So here's something I was thinking about today. I was looking up the description of the White Spire's great hall today, and it is described as having stained glass like the Grand Cathedral. Both, apparently, were fortresses before being converted to their current use. So, here's a question... what if this picture is actually the White Spire??

Wait, DotS may be canon and may not be canon? Gosh, darn. I guess I will have to watch it sometime just in case.

Edit:
Holy cow, your right R2! That could be the White Spire. 'Stained glass windows to show the glorious past.' Maybe thats why it looks so empty and dead. What with most mages gone.

I dunno. From Asunder, p. 298:

"Despite the beauty on display, golden statues and colorful stained glass that reached from one end of the structure to the other, the place possessed a somberness that told of [the Grand Cathedral's] bloody past. ... Places like the Grand Cathedral and the White Spire had once been fortresses that had endured countless battles, and all were built upon the bones of countless dead. ... This late at night the stained glass windows were dark, and only the Eternal Brazier cast any light, the flames in its marble basin making every shadow dance. The forty-foot-tall statue of Andraste, depicted as a robed woman with the sword of justice held aloft, seemed particularly ominous now."

Mike says, "these characters are canon so you may see them again," (something like that; that's from memory), during the behind the scenes vid. But... the movie makers did originally, mistakenly say that the Divine in the movie was Justinia V. So, my own personal feeling is that there easily could be other little details that slipped through that couldn't later be 'corrected' (like how the movie specifically only calls the woman Divine in the credits and dialogue).
