I dunno. From Asunder, p. 298:
"Despite the beauty on display, golden statues and colorful stained glass that reached from one end of the structure to the other, the place possessed a somberness that told of [the Grand Cathedral's] bloody past. ... Places like the Grand Cathedral and the White Spire had once been fortresses that had endured countless battles, and all were built upon the bones of countless dead. ... This late at night the stained glass windows were dark, and only the Eternal Brazier cast ay light, the flames in its marble basin making every shadow dance. The forty-foot-tall statue of Andraste, depicted as a robed woman with the sword of justice held aloft, seemed particularly ominous now."
The concept art of what we original thought was the Grand Cathedral certainly has a menacing feel to it. Also, what are "Eternal Brazier(s)"?

I have a nice fan made concept of how DA2 Templar armor works (each part, showing a person getting dressed) that I will link here when I am on a real computer rather than my cell phone. And, yes, based on the description in Asunder, Evangeline's armor sounds very similar to the DA2 Templar gear.

It's Andraste's eternal flame that they have in each Chantry. It's bad if it ever goes out.LolaLei wrote...

The White Spire will be a v large structure as it is one of the few buildings that can be seen anywhere in the city (the other being the palace). It does look an imposing building from the illustration. I thought it was supposed to be white but not sure if it was the magic that made it white (and by DA3 the mages would have left).
Yeah, it's hard to say. The World of Thedas pic definitely looks more like a gothic cathedral, complete with flying buttresses, than a tower. So, it's probably the cathedral, but you never know!

LOL I would love to see that! I've seen various templar undressed pics floating around, but never one specifically of DA2's templar armor. Yay!

"Flying buttresses" always makes me think of fat opera singers soaring around the stage on trapeze wires!

We're talking "Divine-Wrath" bad here. The Maker cursed mankind with Darkspawn when five of us stumbled into His home. You don't want to know what happens if the eternal flames goes out.R2s Muse wrote...

Hawkward, on tumblr, made this series of concept sketches showing how DA2's templar armor might work (original post is here: http://hawkeward.tum...-never-attacked)
Under garments:

Cloth shirt & pants:

Leg armor:

Tabard with Chantry insignia:

Arming doublet with mail gussets:

Breastplate and gorget:

Pauldrons (option depending on templar rank?), skirt, and culet/faulds belt (optional depending on templar rank?):

Vambraces, gauntlets, and elbow guards:

Sash and armored wrist guards:

Given the placement of some of the buckles (I have a good 50 screenshots or more I've used for art reference), a templar absolutely requires someone else to help them dress and undress.

... Also, is it bad that until those drawings I didn't realise that the sunburst part of the skirt wasn't actually part of the skirt at all, it's just an extra long tabard. *Face palm*

I'm too lazy to upload screenshots right now but it seems that the cloth with the sunburst in the front is something separate from the blue outer skirt. I have some shots of Wesley lying on the ground while he is dying that give a peak of what is under that templar skirt. Hawkward's concept sketches closely matched thumbnail sketches I scribbled out but never completed so this is my headcanon for templar armor until proven otherwise.
As for helping Ser Cullen undress, hahahaha, well, that's why I've researched this!
Need to draw and write such scenes.

I made some damn ugly characters in that game LOL!

I would be extremely happy if DA3's armor customization came close to this, complete with deciding underlayers and outerlayers.
It could become very interesting if we also get to enchant each layer with runes to create highly personalized armor/clothing for each character. If that happened, I might spend more time shopping, enchanting, and dressing the characters than playing the game.
