I dunno, I guess since he wasn't a companion in DA2 I've pretty much assigned him as my DA3 protagonist's canon LI (until we are officially told that he won't be a companion/LI). So at the moment I can't see him being with anyone else but the new protagonist/Inquisitor.

I'm with you guys. Totally over Amell/Cullen and can't read those fics either.

Now I just have to get over Hawke/Cullen! LOL Unless, of course, he's not in DA3. /bitestongue

If Cullen is a love interest, then I think once you start interacting with him with the new protagonist and begin to grow attached to the new protagonist you'll get to the phase where you couldn't possibly imagine him with anyone else.

I'm sure you're right. It will would be completely different having an actual relationship with him, with you know, actual dialogue options instead of reading into everything he says. LOL How totally freaking awesome would that be, even if he's not a LI? Honestly, I'd be happy with:

LOL! I think if he's a companion (even if he's not an LI), I'm gonna be like:

"RECRUIT!!! RECRUIT NOW!!!!" *Gets really excited and does a happy dance*

*Get's them back to the home hub immediately*

*Makes protagonist run as fast as possible over to where Cullen is situated*

"OMGOMGOMGOMG!!! EEEEEEE!!! ASK ALL THE QUESTIONS!!!"  *Gets protagonist to ask Cullen questions and interact with him*

And everytime Cullen says something or I get to talk/interact with him my face will be something like this: :D^_^:crying:

No offense but I find that attitude kind of sad because there are some great Cullen/Amell fics that deserve recognition that are on Archive of our Own. 

I'm not talking about my own either.

You should consider them ALTERNATE REALITY Fics.  

The majority of fan fiction is AU after all.

No offense but I find that attitude kind of sad because there are some great Cullen/Amell fics that deserve recognition that are on Archive of our Own.

True, but unfortunately that's how I feel. It's a shame and I still attempt to read them but they just don't do anything for me. If I don't enjoy something then I can't force myself to like it.

It's just a matter of preference, that's all. 

*Edit* And that's not to say that the Amell/Cullen fanfics are badly written or anything, I've read some amazing ones. It's just that the Cullen/Amell pairing does absolutely nothing for me.

Doesn't mean there aren't perfectly delightful fics out there, and I've read some wonderful ones about Amell and Cullen. I just don't happen to enjoy that pairing, just as everyone has their own preferences, and I have limited time. Having a preference also doesn't mean that it's my job to run out give "deserved recognition" to every story about Cullen or Dragon Age, so let's be careful about casting aspersions on others' preferences.

I know for sure Wicked Grace isn't one, Diamondback might have been borrowed from something else. But they are not common card games you'd find at a casino or anything.

I know for sure Wicked Grace isn't one, Diamondback might have been borrowed from something else. But they are not common card games you'd find at a casino or anything.

@Melca I don't think R2 is offended, just defending her stance on her own personal views. Everyone's opinion is more than welcome, as well as discussing and debating them. I'd hate for anyone to feel like they have to avoid this thread.

No worries! Apology accepted. No need to run!  Unpopular opinions, like not being an Amell/Cullen fan, are unpopular for a reason, so I think it's incumbant on us all to be careful when both voicing them and objecting to them. I should have frontloaded the fact that me not liking reading those stories isn't to suggest anything about their quality.

LOL If there's one thing I've learned as a Cullen fan... we need to let folks dislike what they dislike.
