Ah Cullen, the silly things that you say. Its the true meanings beneath his dialogue.
Bwahaha! littlenikki, that one's awesome. Uh, yeah, Cullen, copping a feel in the middle of a battle is a no-no. Tsk tsk. I love how rawr both she and Isabela are and he's all, "Ooooh, lookie here!"littlenikki wrote...
Funny screenshot moment between my Emma Stone Hawke and Cullen! Poor guy managed to get a bit distracted mid battle by her new armor. Watch where you're putting that hand mister!

It's true lol Yeah I think the fandom is what pushed me over the edge. Plus I don't particularly like DA:O Cullen. I mean, he was nothing special. He came into his own in DA2.
I'm not even keen on the ones where Amell meets up with him in Kirkwall. Amell/Cullen fanart is ok because I can pretend that the female is just some random person lol.
I dunno, I guess since he wasn't a companion in DA2 I've pretty much assigned him as my DA3 protagonist's canon LI (until we are officially told that he won't be a companion/LI). So at the moment I can't see him being with anyone else but the new protagonist/Inquisitor.

If Cullen is a love interest, then I think once you start interacting with him with the new protagonist and begin to grow attached to the new protagonist you'll get to the phase where you couldn't possibly imagine him with anyone else.

LOLHow totally freaking awesome would that be, even if he's not a LI? Honestly, I'd be happy with:
PC: *pokes Cullen's chest*
Cullen: ...
PC: *pokes again*
Cullen: How many times have I told you to stop doing that???
PC: *pokes again*
Cullen: *grabs hand in mid air* Stop. Now.
PC: But... you're real. Say "Stop" again.

No offense but I find that attitude kind of sad because there are some great Cullen/Amell fics that deserve recognition that are on Archive of our Own.
I'm not talking about my own either.
You should consider them ALTERNATE REALITY Fics.
The majority of fan fiction is AU after all.

Doesn't mean there aren't perfectly delightful fics out there, and I've read some wonderful ones about Amell and Cullen. I just don't happen to enjoy that pairing, just as everyone has their own preferences, and I have limited time. Having a preference also doesn't mean that it's my job to run out give "deserved recognition" to every story about Cullen or Dragon Age, so let's be careful about casting aspersions on others' preferences.Melca36 wrote...

So, here's a random question: Does anyone have a headcanon, or know of real canon info, on the difference between Diamondback and Wicked Grace? Or anything about how they're played?

I always just imagine the two as Poker and Blackjack. I don't know if it's ever properly described, so I just use those two for reference whenever the games are mentioned. Diamondback is the one that Dwarven hookers play, right?

I know for sure Wicked Grace isn't one, Diamondback might have been borrowed from something else. But they are not common card games you'd find at a casino or anything.

No worries! Apology accepted. No need to run! Unpopular opinions, like not being an Amell/Cullen fan, are unpopular for a reason, so I think it's incumbant on us all to be careful when both voicing them and objecting to them. I should have frontloaded the fact that me not liking reading those stories isn't to suggest anything about their quality.Melca36 wrote...
