Sorry for offending. :?

I'll stay out of this forum for awhile now since I 've obviously offended.  :crying:

No worries! Apology accepted. No need to run!  Unpopular opinions, like not being an Amell/Cullen fan, are unpopular for a reason, so I think it's incumbant on us all to be careful when both voicing them and objecting to them. I should have frontloaded the fact that me not liking reading those stories isn't to suggest anything about their quality.

LOL If there's one thing I've learned as a Cullen fan... we need to let folks dislike what they dislike.

Amen to that!

I'm with you guys. Totally over Amell/Cullen and can't read those fics either.

Now I just have to get over Hawke/Cullen! LOL  Unless, of course, he's not in DA3. /bitestongue

See I don't have a problem with Cullen/Hawke (FemHawke) because they actually interact and it makes sense... not like the jailor/jailbate situation of Cullen/Amell *hides from Cullen/Amell fans*

:P

Nice timing!

I guess he is very over hyped for a character that hasn't even been officially confirmed as an npc/cameo yet, let alone a companion/LI!

True, but unfortunately that's how I feel. It's a shame and I still attempt to read them but they just don't do anything for me. If I don't enjoy something then I can't force myself to like it.

I don't read most fics because of personal preference... and don't expect anyone to read any of my fics for that reason :P BUT that doesn't mean I don't respect other fic writers. Or other people's pairings. Unless you like Fenris/Isabela. Then you are dead to me. DEAD.

What, I said nothing. :innocent:

It's funny how people think they will be "forced" to like Cullen. Um, since when have we been forced to like a character? Plenty of people hate Morrigan, Leliana, Fenris, etc. Nobody forces you to like or hate anyone lol

This! The game is NOT already out and the fans already have a freaking shrine of him. The game is NOT Cullen Age: The Loving of Cullen. Its so annoying

I'd really like to know who these "fans" are, cause I know it's not us. They're acting like we go around to every thread and starting preaching the Cult of Cullen. We keep our fangirling in here, where it is appropriate, and we're not even annoying about it! Gahhh....I hate the generalization of this fandom.

Agree. And, this party line is becoming so tired. I shouldn't have included names, but let's just say that based on past interactions... in this particular case, Cullen haters gonna hate.

"...and yea verily, I read unto you  from the Book of Cullen.

Golden and curly were his locks.
 ...So say we all...
Tortured and circled were his eyes.
 ...So say we all...
Tawny and muscular was his chest.
 ...So say we all...
And, the prophets did sing of his return.
 ... So let it be...
And it was vagely concerning.
... So say we all. "

Well, as I recall there was some discussion on us being the prophets of The Word of Cullen (something like that) and which deities each of us represent in the future religion that will be formed around his awesomeness....but we can just keep that little secret to ourselves

I was just in the DA3 forum and there's a thread called "family" and it got me thinking. How would everyone feel about having a permanent companion that wasn't actually related to the protagonist, but had known him/her for so long that they consider each other has family?

Like, perhaps he/she isn't romanceable because you consider them like a brother/sister. Then maybe something sh!tty happens to them mid-way through and on their death bed they declare their love for you *cough* Tamlen *cough*.

I like that... hey! Are we having one of those, we've discussed it before, but forgot, so are discussing it again, moments? Didn't we have a discussion about the Inquisitor starting out DA3 with a childhood friend who had unrequited feelins for the PC?  Or am I hallucinating again...?

Yeah, except he/she dies right at the beginning! This one would survive the whole game, or at least until mid-point. And possibly isn't in love with the protagonist lol.

Or maybe he/she actually ends up screwing the protagonist over? Ultimate backstab!

I like it. I only slipped into the family thread very  briefly, but I didn't stay because I'd like to do something different from the family thing this time. Family was a big part of DA2, so something different like a lifelong friend that can fill in your backstory when needed would be cool. I also like the unrequited love thing. Heh. Which could make this individual very  protective of you from the start with whoever you choose as your LI. Of course, the love thing might require two sexes for the friend (?)  given some folks concerns, but then... was Tamlen also in love with you if you were a guy Warden? I'd love for it not to matter.
