Awesome! Good luck with that. Hopefully you'll be just in time to hang around more as we get more DA3 info!SamaraDraven wrote...
I think I'd just die of joy if someone made art for a story I'd written! Sooo don't blame you there. ;D
Thanks R2. It's good to be home. I'm trying to angle for a new spot on a team that has an opening here in SoCal. If I get it, I can be home every weekend! =D

Was it just me or did Shianni have more romantic sounding dialogue with the Male City Elf than Nesiara, the woman he was supposed to marry?
Given that Soris, Shianni and the City Elf are all said to be cousins of one other, it seems that the core reason for why the Elder found a bride from Highever was to prevent inbreeding... but what was their precise relationship?
Oh, does she? I've never played a male city elf. I did think the female city elf's fiancee was a little lackluster, so I suppose at some level I'm not surprised that Shianni was more bright and sparkly.Sifr1449 wrote...

Buuuut when I think about it, my Warden was also gay and I'm a straight woman, sooo could've been there and he/I just never noticed.

It's interesting how people interpret character interaction, isn't it. Where one person will see a certain scene or conversation as flirting, another will come out with a completely different impression of the same situation.

Yea, I guess that's why I murdered Father Geniviti in DAO. I could've swore his Sacred Ashes interaction was to ****** me off and he goaded me into killing him. Everyone calls me a monster but I had good reason for it. I wasn't being selfish but to keep Fereldan from being exploited by those Ashes. We don't really know if it truly had some divine supernatural power behind it. Oghren claims it's the Lyrium exposure. Either way, if pilgrims came to that altar, who would come in just to take that power? Someone would surely use it for nefarious means, yes? Father couldn't see it my way, so I ended his life because the game gave me no other choice. Allowing pilgrims wasn't an option. He had good intentions but he was blinded by that ambition and couldn't see it my way.
I'm probably the only player who saw it that way though. Stubborn bastard.

How's work going? You've not really missed much. A few new pieces of concept art from The World of Thedas book, but that's about it really.

I bet not! We always think we're special snowflakes until we learn 100 other people made the same choice LOL That said I like your explanation; your Warden sounds very thoughtful and "out for the greater good" type of guy/girl.
My Warden was like, whatever, like I careNow come on, guys, we've got more adventuring to do!!

Well, I didn't know for sure if it was some divine explanation for the Ashes. What I do know is that regardless how truly divine a religious symbol is, people will still try to use that for their own selfish agenda.
Draw parallels to our own world. In history, we've had several important figures claim they held the true Spear of Destiny from Christianity. Napoleon and Hitler were some, just to name a few. It was said anyone who held that spear had divine powers. What did every important figure in history that claimed to hold that symbol have in common? They controlled massive armies that ended up being conquerors.
It's not so much whether the Spear of Destiny truly holds some kind of special power, the real power is that people believe it can do it. Weak minds are easily swayed. That's the real danger. So you see the dilemma I went through in DAO? That's why I love Bioware games because they make me think like that. Well, at least that was my personal interpretation of the Sacred Ashes.

LOL but maybe Lola's right, and Shianni digs on her cousin! Tsk tsk, city elves!

Well, it'd be less weird if they were second or third cousins, but yeah, I think they definitely got the characterisation backwards between the fiancees and the relatives.
But yeah, shame on them! Down with that sort of thing!
LOL I was convinced the Ashes were real and I couldn't stand the idea that no one would get to enjoy their splendor. So I set up Genetivi et al. for the next Disneyland. Oh yeah!! Get your genuine Andraste halo over here! Complete with shimmering flames and sword of mercy with kungfu grip!LolaLei wrote...
