No posting single images or animated images. Posting single images or animated .gifs/images instead of engaging in discussion is not allowed. These are discussion forums and that means engaging in dialog, not picture spam. Using images to support your discussion is fine as long as the images used conform to the standard forum rules (no adult content, no slander, no racism, etc). Posting single images instead of discussion will be considered spam and will not be tolerated. Images will be deleted without warning. Posters may be banned for repeated offenses.

Um, yeah, it was bad. Of course, it was worse on Reddit, where the whole thing started. Apparently, including erm, direct threats against her and her family at home. It was bad enough that it warranted this: http://social.biowar...ndex/9381043/1   I don't know if any of the bad stuff is still there... The comments started out supportive, and then later, the haters piled on. :shudder:  Dark days for the BW fandom.

The other outcome, of course, was these much lengthier Site Rules.

Ouch. It's no wonder gamers have such a bad rep!

Disgusting. I believe there were death threats, demanding she be fired and some other things. It wasn't just here though.

I remember there was an apology sent by the DA wiki that I signed. I hadn't partaken in that business, but when I read about it I was disgusted. Lost some faith in humanity there. Sadly even there people were like, "Yeah they shouldn't have said that but she's stupid and shouldn't even make this game because she doesn't like combat...etc etc." and I seriously wished I could reach through the monitor and strangle them.

The thing is, she never said she didn't like combat. She said she wished she could skip past those bits to get to the story parts because she's got kids and doesn't have the time to sit down and playthrough waves of combat etc.

Hell, in some games I hate the combat! After playing DA2 100+ times, getting attacked every 5 minutes by waves of enemies at night pisses me right off!

Ugh, agree. I sent her a note of support as well. I was suprised she even got it, since if I were her, I wouldn't have gone near my PM inbox on BSN. I was hoping someone else did it for her, and sent out a form response to the well wishers whilst deleting the bad before she ever saw it.

They're either little kids or their physically adults with stunted mental development. I can't think of anything sillier than one group of supposed adults telling other adults how to play their games.

Sadly it doesn't matter what she meant. They took what she said, twisted it and then spread it among the group of players who were looking for anyone to blame for what "happened" to DA2. It's still there nowadays, remember what DG said about the Witcher? Now there's this whole rivalry going on.

Exactly. I think it also got worse by dovetailing with the ME3 angst, mixing together all the visciousness about the ending and its story mode (or whatever it was; dunno, didn't play it).  Lots of scapegoating going on.

The Witcher thing just baffles me. The fact that folks want to see the game companies go mano y mano is ridiculous.

LOL That was one of the first things I thought of, as well. :lol:

Reading through the rules, they prohibit many, many things that regularly happen on BSN. I suppose they're really just to cover themselves in the case they have to levy really draconian punishments, but I would like to see a few more readily enforced...   (the pic spam NOT being one of them! LMVAO)

Bethany/Sebastian I can see in theory being annoying if Sebastian is more flirty towards her and hinting at engaging in a real relationship with her when he WON'T do that with Hawke.

I just think it's funny that if I hadn't come to this forum I would have thought DA2 and ME3 were fantastic games and that there's no way everyone who played them didn't love them lol
