Thank you Lola. I can't recall that one. I do remember Alain saying a couple of different lines but the one I recall was him wondering ow Grace and the others were doing. Also, I thought mages slept in dorms? Even co-ed rooms. So is it possible Alrik was abusing someone else? Like a Tranquil? And it's funny that the templar Alain mentions is Alrik, furthering my theory that Alrik was a bad apple, not that the knights were rampantly raping mages. I know I'm biased but I can't accept that Cullen was allowing that to go on if her knew about it and knew he could stop it. I have to believe it was one guy and he was very sneaky.

On another topic: I'm finally done with my lineart! Yayz! Now I just need to make a tracing so I have a clean copy to scan. There are few elements the finished piece will have but I'll add them digitally. My hand is sore enough from all the other details I've put into this thing! At this rate, it'll take me a year to get my fic done in pictures for the video I want to do. :/ Anyhoo... I'll post the lineart as soon as I have the tracing done. Unless y'all want to see my eraser marks?

on the rapey stuff... Yeah, I'm not sure how widespread it was either, but I don't think I'd heard that about Alain. Eeek. I thought there was also a creepy banter between some mages walking through the Gallows courtyard at one point... can't remember it now, tho. I firmly believe, however, that if Cullen knew about it, he would have done something.

Yeah, I remember reading that one when it came out... with a similar conclusion.

I do see Cullen's time in Kinloch Hold being something like high school hormones running amuck... and he's stuck watching it all from the outside. I think that was even a Sheryl Chee analogy for him? Poor kid. I think it makes sense that he'd be tormented by his crush on Amell. I guess I figured his "thing he always wanted" was just... her. But, it could also be something sorta family oriented, like that demon-ensnared templar. It reminds me of this heartbreaking asktheknightcaptain from last year.

I just can't imagine that he hasn't had at least one opportunity to experiment in his whole 30-something years. It's not like he never ever leaves the Tower. But, who knows!

I think, if it wasn't for the fact that Alistair was a virgin then they probably would have made him one... however it's been done AND the poor guy is in his 30's now, or at least fastly approaching it. I'm just not sure how they'll incorporate him ever having sex into the game... I suspect they won't bother to mention it at all, thus avoiding any fan fall out.

I think it'll be more a case that they'll address the fact that he's never had a relationship or been loved, obviously he loved the Warden but he'll probably pass that off as it being young love/infatuation rather than true love, which could only really occur with someone who openly felt the same. It seems to me (dispite fanfic and head canons) that our Warden either wasn't interested in him at all or had been completely oblivious and took the gossip as just bored apprentices making up rubbish, until he actually admitted how he felt during the Circle Tower quest, by then it was too late and she was either already in a relationship or too busy worrying about the blight to give it any thought other than pitying him.

I agree. That was also my headcanon regarding Amell. It makes a bit more sense that any flirtation between them hadn't progressed at all before she left the Tower. He still had a hard time even talking to her. But he remembers Amell so fondly in DA2, I just see it as part of his personal history and growth. He had a first love/crush on a mage, and now he's ready for something a bit more mature.

I think if they make him a love interest in DA3 then it'll probably be the case that the new protagonist will be the same type of woman as our Warden in terms of strength/honor/etc so essentially he will have finally met the type of woman (or man) he describes the Warden as being in Act 2 of DA2. Then if/when the topic of relationships and love comes up during his romance arc then he'll probably mention about his first unrequited love as a young man and how he's been unfortunate that due to circumstance he had yet to meet any else, especially anyone that was able to catch his eye (until now.)

... I actually love the scene in DA2 when we're first introduced to Cullen where he's threatening that other Templar and knee's him right in the gut. I was like... HOT!

Yeah. I was wondering if I wanted to link my two huge Cullen fics because they take place at different times. At first I wasn't gonna because doing that would mean - well... that's a spoiler. Anyway, the song is like perfect for a moment I'm thinking of and it's E. Mo.Tion. AL. But sooo bittersweet! So now I feel it would only be a crime not to use it. I don't NEED to combine the stories to make the moment work but I want there to be SOME kind of happy ending when I'm done.

I think he'd be more assertive like that in DA3 in general because the order is pretty much ballsed and Thedas is in danger due to the Mage/Templar conflict. I noticed how he's never horrible to any of the mages he deals with, for someone that's supposed to be a bit hard faced he's actually very sweet with them.
