I think a Tevinter protagonist would make a nice change. I would definitely play a mage!

LOL I was thinking the same thing. Isn't it's quintessential feature supposed to be fur? LOLmotomotogirl wrote...
Well, I have to say I've not seen ANYONE in Ferelden dressed like that before.
But that Orlesian dress. If I could wear that even once to ball, I'd considered DA3 money well spent, independent of the rest of the game. Oh. Yeah.

So, out of curiosity, how do you guys feel about the possibility of Ion Zur not composing the music for DA3?
Indifferent? I think DA:O soundtrack is okay, has some few (very few) chilling/spine-tingling moments, mostly at Ostagar. Otherwise, meh. DA2, sadly meh, all the way through. (Yes a rare moment when I criticize DA2, ha!

The dresses certainly weren't that pretty in EITHER game! Blech! The noble dresses for women in particular were hideous. Men were straight up wearing hose and doublets. Double blech. Looked stupid lol Dumar's oufti is the only one that comes close to that image.
Speaking of combining clothes, I'd like my inquisitor to wear the Orlesian top and the Tevinter bottoms lol
The cinching on the Orlesian dress is really bizarre. Where is the waist supposed to be? The shape hints at an empire waist, but the cinching suggests a corseted waist.

Yeah, I can't say I'm overly bothered about who does the music, so long as it's atmospheric and suits the game. I liked what they done with ME3 by bringing in big, dramatic pieces of music.
If DA3 is as big and immersive as it sounds, then big dramatic music is a must.

Kinda reminds me of that post I made a couple of months ago, giving examples of the style of music I'd like to see in DA3. I wonder if I can find it again?

Oh do look for it
ME3's soundtrack was a friggin smash hit. I love that stuff. I would be tickled all kinds of colors if DA3's soundtrack sounded anything like that!

This is pretty much my thought. I'm sort of oblivious to music... only recently realized I could get the whole soundtrack as a DLC or whatever. LOL I've like what they've done so far... but so long as it suits, I think I'm good.LolaLei wrote...

You know, I have NO idea what's going on with that. I guess I was figuring that her figure just wasn't quite to scale, since indeed... most women aren't built that way, or at least, most corsets aren't built to make them bottom heavy like that.motomotogirl wrote...

I wonder if DA3 will follow in ME3's footsteps and incorporate some big meaty atmospheric orchestral based pieces into the game?
Since I made those two Cullen fan videos using Mark Petrie's music, I've been thinking that it would be kinda cool if they used a few "epic" pieces of music during certain scenes in the game. For example:
1) An epic battle is about take place. As the scene pans out you see thousands of men, women, mages, Elves, Dwarfs, Quanari etc preparing to fight the onslaught of demons/etc ripping their way through the veil. The battle begins as the music hits it's stride and the demons pour out killing anything in their way. Now, imagine that scene with something similar to this in epicness accompanying it:
2) Something goes horribly wrong and one of you companions/LI or an npc close to your protagonist is fatally injured. As he/she bleeds out you have one last heart-to-heart. Now, imagine that scene with something like this playing in the background, but with a woman singing something in a haunting Elven tone:
3) You made a bunch of wrong decisions and got the "worst ending", everyone is dying, killed in battle or twisted into fleshy abominations. Thedas is being destroyed. You and your companions know it's the end, but they're not going down without a fight. As they charge into battle together a scene plays in slow mo as they fight, one by one you see your companions slain by the enemy. Finally your protagonist (the last to fall) succumbs to death. Now, imagine something like this as background music as the scene plays out in front of you: (skip to 2:28ish) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQ2rOqdD-HU
4) Congratulations! You made some good choices, rallied together enough supporters/troops and you have the upper hand. The battle ends with minimal bloodshed and all companions alive. Something similar to the following music plays out as you and your companions look across the horizon, there's a lot of carnage but it's over now. Your choosen LI gives you a knowing smile and stands by your side as the crowd roars in victory. You've won: (skip to about 1:06ish) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-P9R4k2WDo
5) The Divine is killed. You see her death scene play out in slow motion as Cassandra, Cullen and several other of her would-be protectors at the peace gathering try to save her. You can see the pain and fear on their faces and look of utter shock from the crowd, however the expression in the Divine's eyes seems strangely serene, as if she openly embraced for her own death: (skip to 0:13) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUFTU_PTj08
And finally!
6) The protagonist gets laid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GDPUWdjAiFk
... Man, I seriously need to get myself a hobby!

Oh Lola, all those songs were perfect for those little scenes. (especially the protag getting laid song LOL) Now if they did something like that... That kind of music would really pull out a reaction from me. I hope they do something more like that for DA3.

I'm hoping DA3 really pulls out the big guns with the music. I'm a real stickler when it comes to the ambience of a game, especially when it's something like music that sets the mood of a scene.

OOoo, I believe this is Cullen and Anders, Cullen making Anders tranquil. Not a fan of Cullen and Anders pairing (not saying I am against it but just not a fan) but this picture is so pretty.Apologies if this has already been posted.

Same! But really, can anything ever live up to ME3... just blew me away.
And for example, I watched a YT vid of the folks who worked on Skyrim raving about the awesome music. I remember listening to the music and thinking, um, okay, if you say. (Sounded like wannabe LOTR soundtrack... lots of grunting and yelling in make believe language.)
Now I play Skyrim with the ambient music turned WAAAAAY down. I'd hate to do that with DA3!!!
