So, question: which of these options would feel like a bigger betrayal:

If Cullen...

A.) Decided he hated all mages and began a campaign of violence against them
B.) Sided with the Lambert Crowd out of fear and/or submission
C.) Moved to Tevinter and took a cozy job as a Templar there
D.) Abandoned all of his principles and wasted away in a tavern somewhere
E.) Converted to the Qun
F.)  Found himself in a delightful fantasy in the Fade and chose to stay forever
G.) Turned out to be Orlesian

Inquiring minds want to know!!

I would have to go with A! I think that would just be a slap in the face to all his fans who are NOT just "seeing things" when we believe that Cullen has been a characters who's evolved and exhibited nuance of thought and behavior that other more "extreme" characters (like Meredith or Orsino) have exhibited.

Although converting to the Qun would be pretty WTF

Danny I feel lik you've just described all conversation between me and my future husband! :P Minus the slapping of course. I would never strike a beautiful man...

Unless he likes it... :police:

It seems like I remember reading that "Mac Tir" means "of the land." Does anyone else remember seeing that, or am I losing a few screws? R2? Lola?

It's Gaelic I believe. I saw that on the wiki. So no, no losing screws yet :P

Whew! Thanks, Danny.   Posted Image

G! Filthy Fren-er Orlesians  No, but seriously I'd say A would be the biggest betrayal to me, not because he hated mages. Not that I agree with hate in general, but sometimes you just don't like someone intensly. But a campaign of violence is something else ENTIRELY. It's enough for me to murder knife him.

So you'd be emotionally abusive.... good to know :P

What if Cullen's kinky? I mean, virginal at first, but then super kinky like chains, whips, bondadge, leather pain, cigarette burns etc.

OH yeah. I seem to be the BSN sleuth.

How do Thedosian surnames work?

Depends on the culture, and social standing. Most surnames for commoners denote place of origin or family occupation, and are rarely used. Noble lines will have proper surnames, and sometimes you'll find commoners with
names that stem from noble lines, land ownership, titles granted to family members in the past or a number of other reasons. Again, it depends on which nation you're talking about.

Hmm, good question!

I think I'd go with B, with A as a close second. I think many of the others could be a reasonable evolution from where he was at the end of DA2. But, B is exactly the  opposite of where he was at the end of Act 3; exactly the opposite of what he'd decided to do with Meredith. I think that'd need some 'splaining.

edit: reconsidering a bit on A, as I think I didn't notice the campaign of violence...  but realistically, I could see him having a major trigger episode of his PTSD. But then I'd need to fix him! :wizard:

So if Cullen's Surname is Shepard then we'll know his family looked after sheep... or he's the great, great, great, great, great, great ancestor of Commander Shepard!

LOL Yeah. So it doesn't  necessarily mean that Cullen's a noble. He may be Shepard, or Miller or something like that, and that would make even more sense that we haven't heard it, since, as a commoner, the surname would be rarely used.

Still, if they're actually going to give him one in DA3 then it'll likely be of some significance.

BTW, great sleuthing, R2!!! I thought I remembered us talking about the same thing but didn't want to state it as fact without a source, and then be wrong, and then look like a big ol' miss bossypants.  ;)

Soo... forgot to say that I agree with all of the above -- especially the edit! R2 just happens to share my brainjuice today.  ^_^

though I agree with MMG about Cullen + Qun. That could be a super fun kind of "WTF." Especially seeing him roll into battle (shirtless and painted, please) next to Sten, with his own soul-weapon. Out of character, but interesting!
