Wait, what is going on in the last Fenris swap? Is his head .. On the floor?? Ot against the wall?

I seriously doubt he be completely anti mage. I think he makes it pretty clear that he feels all mages aren't evil. He's the voice of reason in many respects. Sure, he'd be eyeballing a mage PC to be sure they weren't corrupt but that's his job. With his history, it would be easy to write him either way. I would take that (from a writing stand point) to be a fantastic pivotal character. He could either be your buddy the whole way through or smite your a** if he diecides your intentions aren't true.
I'd find it really surprising if they set his character back to Act 1 of DA2. Even DG said that Cullen ends the game as the voice of sanity, so hopefully they'd progress him from there. That said, I do think they'll need to catch everyone up to speed on his character foibles if he's a companion... since, after all, few know him as well as we do. LOLLolaLei wrote...
I just found this in the "who do you want as a companion in DA3" thread, which is surprisingly dominated by people wanting him in the game:
"Cullen, really?
I like playing mages, I can just see Cullen following me around saying. "Your not really like us, you dont deserve any rights, all mages must be watched carefully, blah blah blah."
Ok, maybe he would be a good companion, but only if I actually get to put him in his place, as well as kill him if I so choose."
So, here's my question, do you think that's the direction the DA team will take with Cullen, do you suppose he'll be just another Anders/Fenris going on about Mages being bad and the Templar plight?
I'd like to think they'd have him at least address his issues in the beginning because it would be strange if he just went along with everything the protagonist does good or bad, especially if he/she is a mage. But I'm hoping that'll be done in a sensible way that won't involve every conversation and party banter being about mages and his torture/Meredith, I'm also hoping as the game progresses he'll get over it.

Oh yeah, that's when you bring him the sword of mercy or whatever it's called. And, he's looking out the window. Right!LolaLei wrote...

Against a wall... I think... looked like he was looking out the window or something.
^This!! I agree that all bets are off at this point. I actually think that could be the whole point of DA3 will be to find a workable solution somehow to the mage problem. After all, how else can the war end but with some kind of treaty. Or, the templars could win and decimate the mages and send the survivors to work camps. Or, the mages could utterly win and turn all of Thedas into Tevinter. But realistically, I imagine they'll find some middle ground.meanieweenie wrote...
It's only cheesy if you write it cheesy. What if (based upon the Asunder plot) the Templar order no longer serves the Divine. What if Cullen find this unacceptable? What if the Divine choses him as a spy or uses him in some other context? Heck, he could always take it upon himself to hunt down apostates and continue with his original oathes to protect mages, etc. We can't assume that a romance with a mage would end badly because the rules from the beginning of DA2 no longer apply if they use Asunder as a plot guide. Seriously, all bets are off. I'm actually very excited to see where this game goes, regardless of Cullens role. (Don't hit me.... hard.)

Yup. I think that'd it would be feasable for DA3 to deal with the mage / Templar issues in the midst of a pending war with Orlais. Meanwhile, back at the Batcave, Flemeth is still doing her witchy thing - whatever that means. Really though, what the hell is she up to? LOL And why is she visiting Sandal??? Cougar.

And, there you could be, settling down with Cullen in that middle ground and having little mage-templar babies.:D:D
