It was a dark and stormy night; the undulating sheets of rain snaking across the barely visible woodsman’s path soaked the few clothes Cullen had been able to escape in, making him shiver as he cursed his lack of foresight in slipping out his bedroom window with just a sword, his smallclothes and his wits and evading the Seekers by mere moments.
It was a dark and stormy night, of course, that Greagoir assigned him guard duty atop the Tower, a punishment somehow fitting as the blackened skies mirrored his shame even while a single raindrop worked its way inside his templar armor, making him shiver as it pooled in the hollow of his neck and dripped down his chest, like a reminder that fraternization was a sin.
It was a dark and stormy night, the kind where sane folk already had sought out shelter, and yet here he was, the Knight-Captain of Kirkwall, dripping wet and trudging up the slippery steps toward Hightown with the drunken Champion of Kirkwall blearily clinging to his neck and trilling breathy snatches of song suggestively in his ear.
It was a dark and stormy night and the wind moaned and howled outside Cullen's rattling windows, as if playing an ominous counterpoint to the nightmares that had once again awoken him, the cries of suffering, the drip of blood, the whimpers of submission, the terror of knowing they were all his own.
Oh so this was supposed to be purple prose-funny?
And Cullen-Snoopy is awesome

This really is AMAZING. I have to say, my favorite aspect is that you caught the darkness under his eyes. I like the background, too. The whole thing kind of reminds me of Van Gogh type stuff. (Obviously, I'm no art expert though, please don't laugh at me...lol)
EDIT: I don't feel I've said enough about this. I had no idea you were a true artist. It's like Dragon Age, rendered in your own surreal-like style. Freaking. Awesome.

BTW, we were talking about MTs last night and this is why gamers fear it. Watch this video if anyone is interested.
@motomotogirl this might help answer your question why people hate MTs...
That would be annoying! It seems like the sort of thing they've been doing for games on phones for a while now. I think a lot of kids' games work that way.

Moto - Love that you went for the immediate aftermath in Kirkwall!
Thanks
I'm so rusty with writing, and I wanted to do that pairing justice, but oh well; it makes a good enough 1500 dark and stormy celebration

Uh oh... I just had a vision of DG hiding in the dark while writing "his precious". I will label it "mild concern with a twist of anxiety".LolaLei wrote...

Yeah... also does anyone else find it surprising that they're still hashing out major plot points??

LOL Thanks, I think I sorta failed at the "dark and stormy night" challenge. I think they're neither good enough nor bad enough! But I thank you. It was mostly fun trying to cram a whole story set up into one mostly grammatical sentence.motomotogirl wrote...

Pfft I'm past caring if my writing sucks. I'm usually excited right after I finish a story, then when I come back to it 24 hours laer I hate its guts lol How am I supposed to know which reaction is the right one? I've decided it doesn't matter. I write the story and I had fun writing it, and that's that!!!
