I guess it depends how soon after the events of Asunder that DA3 takes place.

I can't help but think it will be close after if they're still going to include existing characters. After all, that's already 3 yrs after DA2's Act 3. My prediction is that DA3 will start in 9:40-41. Should we place bets? LOL

I still laugh that Cullen is older than Alistair given their comparative models in DA2!

I was re-reading parts of Asunder and ran into yet another piece of evidence that the story is closer to 9:40 than 9:38, amongst all the many others (Pharamond's experiment start, date of the Blight, years since Rhys saw Wynne, etc). Rhys mentions that seven years previous was the last time he had been at the Grand Cathedral, within a year of when Beatrix died. She died in 9:34, so at the earliest, he was there in 9:33. 9:33+7=9:40! Literally every date reference in the book points to 9:39/9:40... except for the (multiple!) sentences that say the Kirkwall rebellion happened "a year ago." Increasingly, I'm starting to think the Kirkwall rebellion isn't Chantry jenga... sorta like the Dawn of the Seeker confusion. Grrr.

I think on Alistair's part that was due to too much eating of cheese.  Not good for the body!

My bet - 2/1 favourite that events will take place as you say in 09:40 onwards.

@ R2 seriously, if you write any for DA3 or how you think it might go and are willing to share, hit me up, I would love to read it! :D

LOL Thanks!  Way too many plot bunnies floating around in my head to write down, but we've talked about so many possibilities here on the thread now  (thanks to Lola's great prompting!) that they'll all come around again.

I do have two actual stories in the works about what could happen after DA2 with Cullen. One was a one-shot for pg 1500 that isn't finished, darn it all! (soon!) The other is basically a novel that I'm 40,000 words into. I've posted two short stories sort of from the timeline of the novel, if you're interested, Trust and Andraste's Grace. Plus Unspoken , with Lola, was technically about a DA3!Cullen.

(sorry... asking me about my stories is like asking a new mom about her baby... !)

.....I could read your stuff for hours.........I demand more!!!! hahaha

Aw, you're too sweet!  Thanks so much!  I think everything I've written is on ff.n, and it's almost all about Cullen. Another good series about DA:O Cullen is by crisium.

Oooo more!! :o   Knights bloom....gonna make a nice cup of coffee for this one, I like a good read on a cold day

Alistair definitely looks older than 20 in DA:O and Cullen looked like he was in his mid-30's early 40's lol. In DA2 Cullen had a Kirkwall makeover and  looked like he was in his late 20's and poor old Alistair looked like he had an over active pie gland!

Awe Alistair getting a little chubby in the face was cute, I don't think Alistair could ever be uncute....ever.  His personality is what always made him perfect, the looks were just an added bonus!

Hey Cullen thread! How's it going? Long time lurker first time poster here. I'm lovin' all the dark and stormy pics from 1500. ;)Gonna have to make some time to read all these fanfics, though.

Anyway just wanted to share my $.02 on the possible future Cullen romance. I agree with much of what has been stated here. He should be a tough nut to crack. I don't imagine after everything he's been through that he will be too quick to trust anyone. I could see him becoming somewhat of a lone wolf so to speak. Also, I think that the romance should be even more difficult if you are a mage, because if he gives it up to a mage easily in DA3 I will be pissed on behalf of my Surana warden (who has a bit of Stockholm Syndrome). On the other hand, I don't really want him to be too brooding and emotional. I got my fill of brooding from Anders and Fenris. Mabye a bit of quiet contemplation or perhaps some uncertainty. I like the idea that someone mentioned of Cullen having built an emotional fortress around himself and having the PC slowly tear it down.

One other thing I'd like to see just for the lol's is; if you are playing an Amell/Surana import, then somebody should give him hell about his crush on her at some point in the game, even if it's just a one liner from an NPC.

Welcome to the thread!

LOL, having a npc giving him hell would be funny. I'm kinda hoping we run into those two gossiping mages from DA:O/Awakening, I'd love to hear what they'd have to say about him now.

LOL yeah, in DA:O it was on his cheek. In DA2 it had become a very faint freckle.

Isn't it weird how his DA:O is completely different to his DA2 version, yet it still looks like him lol.

I see it now. Reminds me when it took a few years before anyone noticed Kaidan had a few scars on his face. Really faint, but still there.

Soooo I've decided that if we do go into the Fade in DA3, then I'm totally taking Cullen in there with me. I wanna see his reaction to it, especially since he's spent his life monitoring mages during their Harrowing, should they fail lol.

Plus, if it shifts and changes based on the companions dreams/nightmares/fears, then Cullen's will be particularly interesting!

Hello luckygrrl.

I would love a funny mention of Amell/Surana too (I am very fond of my mage wardens).

Re makeover, Cullen was very fortunate indeed (as was Flemeth)! Must be all that fresh air he finally got in Kirkwall (always outside). Never noticed the mole before.

I hope that the Fade is given a makeover, a bit more colour and not too blurry. I would also like to see the Black City. Also I hope that any quests in the Fade are shorter than the Lost in Dreams one.

Cullen I think would be an ideal companion for the Fade (maybe not from his point of view though). I think he would probably panic and be all "Sweet Andraste"! I wonder what his fear will be? There could be quite a few.

Welcome, luckygrrl! Stay a while! Indeed, would love to see a joke about Amell/Surana, if you do that import. Altho... my favorite inside joke will be a hairbrushing one. If they do that, I will officially create my own shrine to Bioware and the writers! Complete with cowtowing, small animal sacrifice and maybe naming my next children Dragon and Age. (weeelll, maybe I'll reserve the last one for Cullen becoming a companion...)

Cullen would be fascinating to take into the Fade, particularly the insight it would give him into mages. Of course... that would be after I throw myself to the ground for my infantile temper tantrum that we're going into the Fade, as regular, awake people, yet again! ;)

LOL These are things I never notice because I can almost never max out the texures and graphics on my PC when a new game comes out. I never even knew (until my post-DA2 replays) that the Fade in DA:O was all misty because my laptop at the time couldn't handle it! LMAO

I wonder which Circle this is? It's definitely not Kinloch Hold or The Gallows:

Maybe White Spire? Doesn't look as scary as I thought it would.

Do you have it the big version of it with all the creepy undead coming out of the water?
