I wonder which Circle this is? It's definitely not Kinloch Hold or The Gallows:

Maybe White Spire? Doesn't look as scary as I thought it would.

after re-reading the descriptions of the White Spire and the great hall (the ones I posted here not  too long ago ) I'm convinced it's the White Spire. I think that part on the left side is the great hall, which is supposed to be at ground level near the entrance. Plus it's supposed to be a fortress.

Do you have it the big version of it with all the creepy undead coming out of the water?

That's the one!

Looking at it, I'm starting to think that might actually be the Fade. All that blurry fog, the whisp-looking light above the Inquisitor looks like one of those little Fade sprites that Rhys summons in Asunder to distract the Templar guard. Those big leaning structures... the whole thing looks odd.

Also, those fiery zombie looking things are ****ing creepy!

Hmm, could be. The leaning structure is sorta similar to the picture they do caption as the Fade:

For myself, it always reminds me the strange green pool Maric encounters in the Deep Roads in the Calling.

I've not read the Calling, so I dunno anything about that. What's concerning is why there appears to be fiery spirits in the water, it doesn't look like they're attacking either... it's like they're calling out to them. Weird.

That big leaning structure the characters are walking under looks like some sort of building from the "real world" that's come out twisted and warped in the Fade lol.

Someone needs to find the really hires version of this and just read the caption. My version wasn't readable.

Yeah, I tried to get it up on Amazon again but I couldn't find it.

Also learned in the engine thread that the visuals likely won't be Battlefield 3 like.

And... Was the movie fun? The lead dude doesn't particularly appeal to me... but then ... Ewan McGregor...

Very fun! But of course, Ewan McGregor  It was probably not a great movie, but every time he was on screen, I fell into a dreamy state of unrequited love lol

I agree Cullen is a good man and wants to do the right thing (although not everyone on the BSN forum sees that).

Ewan McGregor - has he ever done any VO for games? He would be ideal!

1. People who don't get this fundamental aspect of Cullen's character just don't get his character. Sort of like the people who think Fenris whines too much.

2. Not games (I don't think) but he's done voices for a couple cartoons.

I don't know anything about Battlefield 3 so .... you know, graphics and stuff are important, and we want to see screenshots and videos, but I understand that they are still busy working on and tweaking such things.

But why would it be hard to give us hints or ideas about the overarching story? At least drop the hint that we will start our journey in Orlais... or our character's last name... or SOMETHING!

Did one of the devs say that? Can you copy and paste it over?

DICE made the engine and was able to achieve those visuals featured in Battlefield 3 because of their knowledge of Frostbite after having worked on it for so many years. Battlefield 3 is also a next-generation game designed to take advantage of modern PC hardware. Dragon Age 3 will be targeting current-generation consoles that are close to eight years old.

You realize that Battlefield 3 was also released on the current generation consoles.

Frostbite also has is some really impressive memory management stuff with level streaming as well as very good LOD support.

I actually agree that anyone expecting BF3 level of fidelity will probably be disappointed, but that's as much due to our art style goals than our actual abilities to make stuff look good.

It's a gorgeous, super realistic game....er I'm told. I know as one of the big FPS games it's very...pretty. I might be getting fidelity mixed up with something though.

I think they really want to, but really the marketing team is who decides when things get dropped and I imagine by who.

Well I dunno about that, even though it's basically my gut instinct. This was also made like half a year ago.

Yeah, I pretty much expect DA3 to look less realistic due to its art style being more "cartoony" (I hate that word, but I can't think of a better description), in comparison to something like BF3 which is supposed to look as realistic and "real worldy" as possible.

How about fantastical?

Yeah, I just thought I'd share so no one here has unrealistic expectations of the game. I like to think that when we get into the game, we'll be the fans with the best or at least a better balanced opinion of the game. So we judge the game by it's merits and not what we expected/wanted, but weren't promised us B)

Well if DA3's style keeps Cullen looking like DA2 Cullen, I'll take it! More seriously, if it's "cartoony" like the concept art so far, I think it'll be stunning.

I liked both DA:O and DA2's art style, so I'm sure I'll be happy with whatever DA3 looks like lol.

Yes I thougt that was a funny way to use the word lol Maybe the word you are looking for is "realism"??

^ This, I have always loved their style. I can almost guarantee it will be gorgeous, that I can at least pretty much say for a fact.

I know people complain a lot that BioWare don't listen to their fans, but I think when it comes to the DA team, they do. Already we can see that they've taken on board complaints such as "too much brown dull colours", "I want to be able to customise companion armour again", "don't reuse levels" etc and they've done something about it. We know this already without even seeing the game yet. So I'm not worried about what DA3 will be like to play at all.

The only real concern I have is that Cullen won't be a companion/LI, which isn't really so much of a concern, but a very strong desire for him to be implemented as such lol.
