Yeah, when you see it all set out like that on a page then Cullen's inclusion seems like a no brainer.
... Then of course, there's the other times where it seems like a complete impossibility.

"She was as much a soldier as the men she led, and while it was not unheard of in Ferelden for a woman to be skilled in the art of war, it was uncommon enough to be surprising." (p 95)
Isn't this a little counter to what we're told as players? That warriors are just as likely to be women as men...?

Maybe things progressed quickly by the time our Warden came around lol.

@Lola and ya, I do feel a bit "meh" right now about it all, but I think its just the lack of reasons to get excited since most of it is just a big unknown. So you can really think about any of it because we have no details or specifics to wonder or speculate about. Just really vague tweets and that one leak.
It must feel kinda weird for you, since you're new to the thread so you've missed out on so many details about DA3 that we've discovered over the past year, then you got a lot of it pretty much all at once LOL.
DeMarco09, with regard to Cullen... we know a tiny bit more than that. I wrote up a summary once upon a time of everything we "know" about his inclusion in the future of DA here, if you're interested: The Case For Cullen in DA3: The January 2013 Edition
Ooooh! Thanks! The Greg Ellis tweets I did know about, but not a good deal of that other stuff. It seems to me that he will be in the game, but in what capacity...it's not clear. Like others have said, best case scenario = companion and romance option

LOL My pleasure! Agree, storywise, he seems like a natural, but I'm still reserving hope. My own feeling is that we'll see him... at the very least with a cameo. Anything else... I'm waiting to be pleasantly surprised.SilverMoonDragon wrote...

LOL It's a possibility! I also wonder if it's this slight schizophrenia the game has about gender roles, where even Alistair says something about women being unusual among the Grey Wardens or something like that.LolaLei wrote...

Yea and I keep getting a negative attitude about it.
I'm thinking in my head we won't see a full reveal until E3 and the game won't be out until Q1 2014. I'm actually thinking about just cutting back my time on this forum because most topics have been beaten to death. Well, until we have more to talk about at least.

Wow. That is bizarre and frankly troubling. Might have to tone down some of the praise I tend to heap BioWare's way when it comes to representations of women in gaming...
But then we know the Writer's Pit is all (yes?) women, excepting DG, so there's that to counteract any stereotypical crap!

Yeah, It's making me feel really negative as well. And none of the new games that are currently out are able to fill the party based RPG void... I can't bring myself to run another playthrough of ME3 thanks to those endings either, so that rules that one off the list.
I just wish their was a DA3 info leak. I know it's generally bad for business, but this place is dying on it's arse without anything new to talk about.

It really is, there isn't really anything to talk about .... and I am not even exaggerating. It probably went from a full on Cullen thread to .... random topics about life LOL like a few little snippets wont hurt would it? c'mon, give me some more concept art! grrrr

Lol yeah, for the best part of a year it was "all Cullen, all the time" and then it started to become a random topic thread when we began to run out of Cullen topics, then all of a sudden there was the survey leak that featured Cullen so that brought us back on the topic of him and DA3 in general for a good few months. Now, we've completely exhausted every possible Cullen/DA related topic possible lol. Still, things usually pick up for a couple of days after a Sprint Review but it doesn't last.
I once wrote a theory about Cullen being like Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, if you're bored and fancy reading it?

Mike Laidlaw: "Directly behind my desk there is a prototype being worked on that is very exciting. There’s another one 6 offices down. Both self-started. At a certain point in the project prototypes become rapid iterations of highly specific gameplay elements, rather than high-falutin’ ideas. So, yes. DAIII progress ahoy."
(I put all three tweets together to make it easier).
*Name removed*: "I was wondering where DA3 would take place I was assuming Orlais but given the size of the war would you travel to other lands."
Mike Laidlaw: "Can't talk plot at this time, unfortunately. One of these days!"

Considering they didn't reveal the Citadel trailer until this past Monday with the DLC coming out the NEXT day..........I expect we won't see anything until late May.
And from them on it will be a full advertising blitz.
The backlash from both ME3 and DA2 has changed the way they promote games.
