Oh gawd, the Cullen memes have started pouring into that DA3 meme thread LOL!

oh great....

Edit:  Seriously what is it with the hate?  Why do people seriously not like him?

I tend to think when people have an overwhelming negative attitude on the internet, they have major insecurity problems. That's just an observation by me though.

But in all seriousness, what would you guys accept as a happy ending in ME3? I'm just curious. How would they all come out of that situation alive? Reapers pretty much had every major infrastructure destroyed. I mean, if you read all the planetary descriptions not even they had unlimited resources as some areas weren't hit yet. They focused all their attacks on the high priority attacks like military, fuel depots, communication, etc.

That's why Turians were one of the first hit because they had the largest military in the galaxy.

I guess I could see a 'happy' ending where Shepard was like **** you and then tells his companions we're going to win this war our way. Then he flies off and the rest is left up to imagination. But they probably wouldn't win. Did you guys get that refusal ending in the EC? I thought that was how it any 'happy' ending should've been if you refused. We simply didn't have the resources to fight a race infinitely more advanced.

No kidding. I had NO IDEA people beotched about games so much until I joined this forum. DA2 ... loved it! ME3 ... loved it! Good games. Yay. What else is there to say?

People need to relax... :?

I gave DA2 a 7/10   Loved the characters and thought ACT 2 was Brilliant........and the DLC makes it 8/10

I Hated the FETCH QUESTs,  ACT 3 was a rushed mess, and ACT 1 the escape from Lothering was to linear for me.

I wanted to see the destruction of Lothering.   There was even an early trailer that had some brief glimpses of a burning house that looked like the ones from Lothering.  It would have had a far more emotional impact if we had seen them flee their house.

Yes, you could really tell ACT 3 was rushed in DA2. That ACT actually had my head spinning and when it all ended, I thought to myself, "This is it?"

Haha. That ending kinda came out of nowhere. Felt like the game was half done. I don't like it when games drop endings on you that need to be resolved through DLC. Fallout 3 did it too. You needed Broken Steele to get the entire story. That was kinda lame. Bioware didn't give us the resolution we wanted in DLC(even though they had the expansion planned).

I wonder if we'll see any of that expansion in DA3. And why does all our PCs just magically disappear? Does Gaider just want to leave that up to our imagination as to how we want our story to be finished?

Honestly, I am sure they could have gone about it numerous ways. But what they set up presently, destroy but without the citadel blowing to hell would be the only I could see it working (at the moment, im too tired to be creative lol)

The theme of Shep through 1 and 2 didn't fit what they did in 3. I get that being ballsy is different and new, but not with Shep's story. Try it on some other stupid game where it would actually fit.
Deus Ex didn't have a very "happy go lucky" ending, it gave what four/five different oucomes? including blowing himself up. Guess what, I still play that game non-stop AND end the game every time because it didn't kill the game. I love that game.  But what they did in ME3 just didn't flow, it didn't make sense either.

I'd rather not have an ME3 ending discussion in the Cullen thread, so I'm gonna keep this short.

There was enough loss and galactic destruction that it was never gonna be hearts and flowers. I don't want hearts and flowers. I wanted my ****ing Shepard to survive and reunited with her crew and I wanted and ending that made sense and didn't make the Reapers look like a bunch of dicks. They were supposed to be like Lovecraftian horrors, not whatever the hell that ending turned them into. There was enough loss throughout 3 games that it was bittersweet enough, they didn't have to sh!t all over Shepard in the process.

And I'll leave it at that because I don't want the Cullen thread getting shut down.

Yea. I think you could say that about a lot of parts in the game. Like when Carver/Bethany die or mom dies. The mom part was just awkward as hell. I don't really know how to describe that scene. Another weird thing about 'emotional' scenes in DA2 is that they don't give you the proper emotional tone to react. Each tone type only has two type of tone responses. It would've helped to have more emotional tones available in those specific situations. I think Gaider said they were experimenting with adding more tone types for these moments.

Never gets old when I use an aggressive tone when my mom is dying and it basically sounds like he told her to **** off while she's dying in my arms...

I'd like the ability for the protagonist and companions to actually cry when something absolutely awful happens to them/a loved one.

Oh the Aggressive tone is so bad during that scene. :pinched::lol:

I think its great they are adding more tones. I would have loved more of a reaction to my siblings death though I think mHawke did a far better job.

Theres actually another early trailer where you see Hawke collapse from grief after Bethany dies.

I think they learned their lesson about releasing trailers with footage from alpha version of the games.

I asked Gaider that specifically and he wouldn't respond. He just said that he felt that in emotional situations, they can get the emotional tones better.

It's just silly when mom is dying in my arms and the only tone responses I get for the blue one is 'diplomatic' or 'helpful'. It's like wat. Crying would be good in the blue icon slot.

Comes a time even when a personality that's aggressive deserves to show compassion...

I like the way UK people talk though. The Geordie accents are the best. <3

Yeah, just add in some tears and let the voice actor do the rest with his/her voice! Wouldn't be too hard to implement, they did it with Jack and Cortez in the Mass Effect games.

I have to admit the ending pissed me off to the point were I felt like Bioware/EA took the fans for granted.

The fact that it was revealed that Orsino was added for a second boss fight only added to my anger. Its like they said "It has the dragon age name on it, the fans will accept it"

I wonder if we'll see any of that expansion in DA3. And why does all our PCs just magically disappear? Does Gaider just want to leave that up to our imagination as to how we want our story to be finished?

Heres my prediction--> Given Varric's popularity I have no doubt we will see him in DA:3 and I think he will make mention of what happened. :wizard:

Apparently they plan to tell us where Hawke and the Warden have disappeared to, what the Grey Warden's were being so hush-hush about and are also writing bits of the cancelled dlc into DA3, so that's something at least.

I remember when I first finished DA2, I was like... "That was the end?? But I didn't DO anything for the entire game!" Lol.

Well, I seem to remember one of the devs saying that at least some of that expansion could make it into DA3. Slightly revised, of course. I don't think we'll ever get resolution on Hawke/Warden and I'm ok with that. I think the DA writers just want us to use our imagination. IMO, it's a good way to end a game where we control our personality/story. Since everyone isn't going to be happy on an ending, why not make it vague so we can imagine our own endings? I think that's what the DA writers intended for Hawke/Warden. Some say that's bad writing but I think it's ok in this case.

At first DA2 felt like one big fetch quest, in which I ran around doing favours for random people. It took me a long time to appreciate its subtleties.

I loved ME3's ending. I cried buckets, absolute buckets. I was sobbing ... having trouble breathing-kind-of-sobbing lol I would rate it the best ending of a game ever (personally). <---But such opinions are by nature based on personal feeling, so it's okay if another person absolutely despised the ending. Though I wish people wouldn't complain so awful much.

My first time through was all aggressive tone. I just did it for comic relief. But basically, my guy told everyone to **** off, even in banter. When I would retrieve dirty pants and give it to a random NPC, my Hawke let him know. He'd be like, "Next time, keep your pants on".

I just like listening to British slang. Each time I watch a movie from the UK I can't stop laughing based on how some of y'all talk over there. It's actually one of my favorite accents to listen to. That and Australian. Can't beat Guy Ritchie movies either.
