LOL I use the subtitles anyway! I even do that sometimes with DVDs that have strong accents. Thank the Maker for subtitles!LolaLei wrote...
Lol, you'll get used to it in time. I tell you what though, you guys are gonna need the subtitles when we visit Orlais, with certain French regional accents I can only just catch what they're saying, and I'm used to it! MotA had some pretty thick accents going on, which I think is probably why they've stuck with your basic British accent for the protagonist so far, cos its the easiest to understand.

LMAO AWESOME!!!!!
Cullen made LI then killed in DA3- The story goes on...
Twas a warm, warm night for Bioware.
The scent of burnt wooden torches off in the distance seemed to light up the night as they hunker down in their offices. The eery shouting from the parking lot seemed to echo in their ears. The vast amount of flyers that had riddled the ground from earlier weeks was used for make-shift fires in the office since the power was cut two weeks ago. They start to ponder why they would ever think it was a good idea to upset the Cullen fans....

Lola, I recognize "chav"; is that not a dirty word??? Or a rude term for a certain class of person from London... I watched Misfits and Kelly was called a chav. It was hard to understand her lol

I usually have them on in case I miss anything, but I often end up reading the subs instead of watching the screen so I think for my first playthrough I'll turn them off and just have the sound up really loud LOL.

I actually have no trouble understanding French accents! Maybe because I'm Cajun ... although Cajun accents sound very little like mainland French accents....

Kinda, it's become a rude term for idiots who put on that fake "chav" accent and (usually) take part in drug dealing and other forms of crime lol. Chavs pretty much come from anywhere in the UK lol.

Yeah, that's the reason I use them in DA. Particularly for the ambient banter, since too often I miss it with the music and the soundeffects, etc. (plus it seems my ears aren't what they used to be! LOL).LolaLei wrote...

LOL! I guess most of them are as daft as the guy from that song! Your best bet is to look for something called "The Jeremy Kyle Show" on YouTube, that's almost always full of chavs. It's kinda like our UK version of The Jerry Springer Show, except we don't get circus acts storming the stage... or food fights.

I don't think there are subs on xbox?? But Lola you play on xbox yes? I never thought to turn them on. I've not had trouble understanding anyone just yet, but R2, you're right about the ambient banter... it's really bad for that tiny mini-quest when you have to listen in on those bad guys at the docks.
Yes, there's a toggle for it in options lol.

It's a setting in the game, under Audio. You choose just conversations or all, I believe. So I just play with all these days. Like, some of my fave banters are those in the docks, where the elf servants are b!tching, or someone talks to Isabela, I think? I can't remember them all but I find them even hard to catch with the subtitles, since everyone keeps walking away from each other, even tho they're talking.motomotogirl wrote...

@ Lola I used to like watching it, but honestly I don't watch TV much anymore. The amount of reality shows kill my interest. The only way is essex makes me want to shoot myself
I usually just leave the tv on for background noise whilst I'm on the computer or tidying up lol.
