You found a loophole. lol B)

I'm going under the assumption that he would die no matter what since he's gonna be your companion and that's part of his storyline based on Gaider's statement that he believes NPC romance wouldn't have much depth compared to companion romance. Still, nice one.

This is what I'm confused with. Perhaps I'm misreading this.... why do you assume Cullen would die either way? DG seemed to merely be commenting on the difference in depth of character between NPCs and companions. Posted Image

I'm basing my hypothesis on David Gaider's comment about not wanting NPC romance as well as his other comments supporting tragic romance like Jacob and Thane. Relax guys, there is no script leak... or is there?

Gotcha. No big deal. We'll all find out soon enough, right? lol I'm all for a tragic romance.

Edit: Poor Lola's going to need CPR after that one. Battle, your avatar looks like he knows some life saving techniques. LOL

Kaidan can perform CPR on me any day!

Back off, he's mine.
j/k

Who did you romance in ME3, Lola?

Kaidan in ME1, stayed single in ME2 (because my Shepard was still pining after Kaidan), reunited with Kaidan in ME3, had lots of Kaidan sex LOL.

That's surprising. I always thought of you as a Garrus girl.

never did get the appeal of garrus..  he was totally a bro to all my sheps tho, like best friend quality for sure.

Sadly, I cannot romance anyone but him... I have tried and never finish the playthrough. I feel bad and then have to start over and romance him again hahahah

Edit:  I was talking about Kaidan... *sigh as if my avatar doesn't give that away.

I think I stay faithful to him in all three games. I I romanced him as Maleshep in ME1, not sure if it counts since I used a mod. At least, the mod goes better this time compared to Alistair mod. Never click with Garrus, Cortez, Thane, or Jacob (Thanks God).

Garrus is just too "bro" for me to romance.
Cortez is too passive for my liking
Thane is just too mushy
Jacob is just an ass

I like Kaidan the most because of how casual he is. He just seems like prince charming that can be emotional supportive whenever you need to. He even looks like prince charming.

Tell me this is not Kaidan.

I'm hoping that DA characters would hit me with the same emotional impact as ME. So far, I feel more attached to characters from ME. That is not to say DA has no memorable characters. Alistair, Morrigan and Shale are all great.

Lol, why does everyone always say that? I'm definitely 100% Kaidan all the way! I liked Garrus and he was charming, but I always got the impression that he wasn't all that into Shepard to being with, whereas Kaidan is clearly smitten with Shepard from the very beginning and makes it pretty clear from the minute you hit the Citadel for the first time in ME1.

Precisely! I like how they brought him out of his shell more in ME3. In ME1 he was more sensible and reserved, but by the time ME3 came around he was more sure of himself and a lot more relaxed. He was absolutely adorable and hilarious in the Citadel dlc, especially with his little coffee outburst.

It was nice to see the whole crew relaxed, actually.

Anyone get a newly wed impression of Shepard and Kaidan? Deciding to go out, cooking together, relaxing on the couch. I was like, just put a ring on it already. Better yet, use EDI's ring. :P

Lol, yeah a few people had me down as a Garrus girl. A lot of people thought I'd be a Zevran girl too, when in actual fact I was all over Alistair like a shot!

It's a bit of a coincidence, but so far I seem to have gone for love interests that have been smitten with the protagonist from the outset. In Mass Effect it was Kaidan, in Dragon Age: Origins it was Alistair and in Dragon Age 2 it was Anders lol.

Lol definitely, but I think Kaidan and Shep were definitely making up for lost time. The pair of them were making googly eyes at each other and flirting all the way through ME3, especially in the Citadel dlc!

No doubt about it, we do think alike

Kaidan and Alistair are the ones I have always stuck with.  I cannot for the life of me romance other characters....

its a chore to do when I did it for the achievement aspect of it. I made one character and romanced them all with just for the achieve and never did it again LOL.

You have the exact same romance as me. lol

There is a particular personality I seek for whenever I choose my romances. Most of the time, it's the emotional and everyday guy. I guess that must be how I perceive Cullen.

Yeah, I had to make a male Warden in DA:O just to stop myself from romancing Alistair for the achievements LOL! I did romance Garrus once out of curiosity in ME2 once, but I felt bad and didn't particularly like it so I deleted that playthrough and done it again and romanced no one so that my Shep was faithful to Kaidan.

DA2 is a bit of a struggle for me... I honestly don't like any of the LI's, but I think it is just the lack of detail in their romances that made it that way. Anders is alright, sort of .... other than being a terrorist... which kind of kills it for me. Plus allowing justice to bind with him was just stupid. I will get a lashing for saying that I know.

Alistair and Kaidan are the two greats imo, hopefully we will find Cullen in this list of greats after DA3 comes out ;)

I don't have a specific type, but I'll know within the first 5 minutes of meeting them whether the character is "the one" for my protagonist. Cullen's already got it in the bag if he's a companion/LI so all the new LI's already don't stand a chance LOL!

Yeah, none of the companions in DA2 grabbed me either. I picked Anders because I really liked him in DA:A and he felt right for my canon male mage Hawke.

I have already locked in a romance with Cullen as a mage. C'mon, you just have to love the irony of that romance. It's the same case for me, Cullen will definitely be my canon file. Unless the other LI has to be extremely charming and dorky, it's probably not gonna change.

So here's something interesting. Mike Laidlaw's Twitter profile describes him as:

"Creative Director of Dragon Age. Currently Inquisiting."

I wonder if that's a hint that the new protagonist will indeed be an Inquisitor, thus he's "Inquisiting" or if he's "Inquisiting" because the game is called Dragon Age 3: Inquisition, which is what he's working on. If that makes sense?

Yeah, I plan to do my first ever playthrough as a Mage (usually I go for rogue or warrior the first time round), mainly because if Cullen is a romanceable companion then I wanna see what kind of reaction he'd have to my protagonist and whether or not he'd willing to actually get into a relationship with one now that the whole Templar thing is all up in the air. Plus, I wanna see how people in general react to a Mage running the Inquisition (if that's what we'll be doing).

That's awesome. I totally see us inquisiting as the Inquisitor.

I was at first, but then I tried romancing Garrus out of curiosity and got hooked. Kaidan's romance is nice, but the dynamic between Shepard and Garrus is just addictive to me
