I'm also still curious about the DA3 official Twitter that says:

"Rise to power by any means necessary"

Someone said that it was DA2's original tagline, but it doesn't really fit with DA2 since we didn't really rise to power through choice lol. However, DA3's description on the survey leak (if it's still correct) sounds more like rising to power by any means necessary, via going in all guns blazing, or sending in spies etc.

I have already locked in a romance with Cullen as a mage. C'mon, you just have to love the irony of that romance. It's the same case for me, Cullen will definitely be my canon file. Unless the other LI has to be extremely charming and dorky, it's probably not gonna change.

Yeah, I plan to do my first ever playthrough as a Mage (usually I go for rogue or warrior the first time round), mainly because if Cullen is a romanceable companion then I wanna see what kind of reaction he'd have to my protagonist and whether or not he'd willing to actually get into a relationship with one now that the whole Templar thing is all up in the air. Plus, I wanna see how people in general react to a Mage running the Inquisition (if that's what we'll be doing).

SAME!  If Cullen is an LI option, its all mage. He is locked in as well, no arguments there :P  I also find the dilemma of if he is the LI, then more than likely I won't gravitate to other LI's.

Say Kaidan wasn't in ME at all, I might have gone with Thane or Garrus. But since Kaidan was, I immediately gravitated towards him and pretty much have no interest in any of the others.  Gah, me and my monogamist ways. I can't cheat, lie or freaking think about having femshep go with any other, same with the Warden and Alistair.

I was at first, but then I tried romancing Garrus out of curiosity and got hooked. Kaidan's romance is nice, but the dynamic between Shepard and Garrus is just addictive to me

I'm not gonna lie. Garrus can be pretty romantic. His dance in the Citadel DLC is amazing.

My boyfriend is a Garrus-mancer as well, he'll play as femShep purely because he thinks Garrus is awesome... and he said he prefers femSheps VO skills lol.

I am actually still confused at how this is going to go story-wise. I get it, Inquisition, but I still can't even come up with ideas on how the story might go or what not.

I'm exactly the same. I always end up watching the other romances on YouTube. Except with my male Shepard who romanced Jack, but I didn't save his file because I prefered femShep.

The other reason why I'm gonna play a mage for my first ever playthrough is because I think it would be more interesting seeing that extra layer to the story with fresh eyes. If I played a mage for my second or third playthrough then it wouldn't have the same effect since I'd already know roughly what the outcomes would be, or it would be spoiled by other BSN users talking about all the things that can happen with a mage class protagonist.

Me neither. Supposedly we won't be forced to side with the Templars and Mark Darrah said that the Inquisition isn't affliated with them. I think DG also said that with won't be forced to be pro-Chantry either. Originally I presumed that the Inquisition would be what the rebelled Templars would rename themselves since they were going back to "the ways of old". I just wonder how a mage gets himself/herself roped into the Inquisition, you'd think a mage would want nothing to do with something that takes on the name of a mage-slaying group, even if that's no longer what it stands for.

I'm always behind on the conversations grrr...

I love Kaiden and can only hope that love will continue with ME1 and ME2, which I will soon some day get around to playing.

DA:O I would have definitely picked Alistair had he been available to my Warden, but Zevran's romance is very sweet and Zevran is a character with great depth, drawn with great love...

DA2 was and is always Fenris, Fenris, Fenris. Best character, best romance, best everything for me lol So no way do I think DA2 characters or romances are less developed. Sure I would have love to talk to him the way you could in DA:O, but what more what he have said? Just the same stuff he said in his cut scenes, but drawn out and at the player's discretion.

Lol true, he can't remember his past. If it had been more like DA:O, then I guess maybe gradually they could've had parts of his memory come back and you'd have to talk him through it, thus creating more conversation options or something.

While reading through some DA topics from tumbr and gamfaq, I find it interesting how many people typecast Cullen fangirls (I'm not one techically but still ) as these crazy, creepy groups of fans. There's nothing wrong with being a fan and being passionate about a game or an aspect of the game. While criticizing other people's taste, I'm sure almost all those guys have objectified women in real life or in video games before, so they are not really in any position to speak. :?

As for Cullen, well it DOES matter who my inquisitor turns out to be, because there has to be chemistry... but obviously I will try the romance out at least once 8D

I don't think my preferred LIs share any particula traits; it's more about who meshes with my character best. Like, which relationship dynamic grabs me the most.

I can't imagine Cullen not being a dynamic LI for my character though so I'm not worried about being disappointed.

Hmm or maybe not talk about his past (since he can't remember it) but we'd just learn more quirky stuff about his personality? Like why he hates fish or if he really does dance when he's by himself

Maybe we can learn stuffs indrectly about our LIs like Kaidan's horrible dancing skill.

Lol, we do have a bit of a bad rep. However, I think we're some of the more reasonable fangroups out there, especially the ones in this thread! <3

You can bet your arse that all of the people who paint us in a bad light have, at some point, got a bit obsessed with a character from a game/book/comic/move/TV show or someone in real life. In fact, I bet a large majority of them are a lot worse than we're generally percieved as being.

It's the fear and disgust of female desire (and homoerotic male desire, too, so you can throw yourself in there, too :P). The homophobic straight guy is dubious of female desire and disgusted by male-on-male desire... so he mocks it.

Then there are the women who also make fun of Cullen fans... they probably buy into the status quo that says it's okay for men to sexualize women, but women having erotic thoughts?! Filthy!

He does have a brief flashback during sexytime with Hawke though. They could've expanded upon that sort of thing, like maybe something would trigger a flashback for him or something. Still, there are a lot of things they could've done with DA2 but they simply didn't have the money, time or resources to do it.

Too many people are quick to judge, they also said a lot of things about Kaidanites as well.  Look at the freaking Miranda thread, objectified right there.

I saw a guy post something, (god its BSN, can't even remember where) once I find it, ok found it lol

in this thread was a debate about bioware being feminist or something stupid like that. I was actually proud of some of the boys for taking a pretty hard stance in some of the matters (and girls too). It was hard to look away from that thread lol.

Oh yeah I posted in that tread once or twice, but it got offensive and teeming with ignorance pretty rapidly, and I realized there was no point in staying.

For what it's worth, the DA games have been wildly feminist, and I love it!!!!!!!!!

I try to romance other people in Mass Effect, but change my mind the minute Garrus talks to me in ME2, tbh.
