I think you're right about Cullen remaining neutral. In theory he should've worked out by now that for all his good intentions the Templar/Circle situation isn't working, mainly because the Templars have lost their way over the years. I think (hope) that's he's gotten to the stage where he wants to come up with a solution to create peace, and maybe throughout DA3 he'll come to realise that not all mages need to be handled with kid gloves lol.

What if Cullen and/or Cassandra is the Alistair-type character that ties you to the organization and sticks with you regardless of the path you take, but your choices influence him/her to see things your way and take the side you lean toward? I liked how Alistair was the character that anchored you to the Grey Wardens. And it explained why he stuck around even if you were a class-A d-bag.

Or maybe he/she (or just one of them) would betray you in the end and choose the other side no matter which path you choose? (kind of how Whisper would be evil if you were good or good if you were evil in the first Fable game)

I don't even think mages and Templars will be the central focus in DA3. I think the first quarter of the game WILL be about them but then something comes along that changes the entire landscape to a greater evil war.

Agree with this, although I really do hope that they don't try to use the Chantry/Mages as a red herring and change antagonists in the middle like they did in DAII. It's been done, and not even done well.

Honestly, I'm sick to death of mages and templars. I'd really like for DA to veer off in a new direction for awhile. I'd like some surprises.

Same here but the scenario I mentioned worries me because it sounds way too much like Mass Effect. I want Dragon Age to be itself. I only put that scenario in my head based on information I've seen. Gaider sure did make it sound like they were looking at what people liked about the ME franchise and possibly take inspiration from it. Although, he didn't say that specifically. He said they were watching the ME franchise very closely. Maybe that meant the controversy and what to avoid.

I'm honestly tired of them too. The grey area in DA2 between them wasn't well done, IMO.

Ugh. Man, I need some DA3 news and something to play.

We need to plan another Cullen-thread wide online gaming night like we did when nikki was playing ToR.

I would totally do that but I don't think everyone in here has the same systems or gaming PCs. I have a PS3/gaming PC personally.

Most of us just joined in to chat with headsets/webcams or via text. And watched nikki's smuggler dance. And flirt a lot. LOL

Well, she did do a Livestream broadcast a few weeks ago of DAO and some of us joined for that. It was fun. She should do it again. :D

Livestream! That was it. I'd host one if my internet were more reliable. I'm sad that I missed it.  Image IPB

You have a capture card? They have much better streaming sites than Livestream for gaming. TwitchTV is one place.

I know BYT, you disappeared for awhile and I missed seeing your ****y avatar.

Well, they did say that they'd be going back to their roots, so I'm gonna presume that the story structure would be closer to DA:O and DA2's.

Again, refering to the survey leak they said that the magical blast at the peace gathering happens early on (if not immediately) so maybe at first everyone would presume the mages did it, and that's why the Inquisition is formed to investigate the situation before making any brash judgements, but then the more the Inquisition investigates, the more they realise that they're dealing with something extremely dangerous and serious.

It made it sound like Chantry was in great turmoil too. Killing the Divine would surely throw Thedas in chaos. And yea, that's basically exactly how I imagined the scenario with Inquisition. They're formed to investigate the responsible party behind it and they learn it's something much more sinister. It could be that the Templars still exist too. The Inquisition would form itself based on members it wants though. So, they'd drop their old banners and form under one. A seeker, mage, templar, w/e. Those titles wouldn't exist under their banner. All skilled in specific areas.

Ok, I know this question was asked a few pages back, but not many people answered it:

If you had the option to get married in DA3, would you?

Yea, BSN isn't the most positive place in the world. I don't know a forum that is on the internet though.

Deuce: I've actually been saying that the Divine will probably get bumped off ever since that survey leak happened. I reckon that massive magic blast/veil ripping thing will kill her. She's escaped death a few times now, so I reckon her luck is about to run out.

Poor Cullen is gonna have a sh!t fit over that one!

Only if I liked a character enough and they gave the proper relationship building. It needs to be something they put a lot of effort into the game with too, not filler. Hopefully it's not like Skyrim.

"Hey, I'll give you this medal. Want to be my wife?"

"Ok!"

I can't imagine the world in Skyrim having much success when it comes to marriage. I'm pretty sure they have a high divorce rate over there...

Hmm... I don't know. I really, really like being married in real life, but I'm struggling to see how it would fit into DA except as part of an epilogue or a death sentence (protag's spouse = plot fodder, for real).

I'm also failing to think of any past male LI's I'd actually be able to accept as marriage potential besides Alistair.

.... although, Sebastian. I could see me playing someone that marries him and then they kick butt all over Starkhaven together. That's the best I can come up with, though.

LOL!! It's more like "Hey, I see by your jewelry that you're afraid of being FOREVERALONE like I am. If you've got the gold for a wagon ride we should do this thing!"

In my Skyrim playthroughs divorce is a non-issue. My husbands either walk into a trap that lowers their health to nil and then throw themselves in front of Volendrung (Gorbash, noooooooo!!!!") or they end up pissing me off so badly that they get mysteriously Fus'd off a cliff.  Or sacrificed to Boethiah...  Image IPB

Do you expect Cullen's romance to be mushy like Alistair? Someone who is in love with love? One of the reasons why I love Kaidan and Alistair romance so much are due to how much they are into you. Anders and Fenris seem to care more about their own issues than love.

Funny story about that...you know that house you buy in Whiterun? Well, I'd come home in the evening times and sometimes my wife wouldn't be there. Sometimes I'd see this random guy NPC from the city in there and then he'd leave when I'd enter and my wife was cooking. I decided to give that a guy a little Skyrim justice by striking him down in an alley and hiding his body.

Forgive me if I can't trust my wife when I only knew her for 3 days.

This is why I say it needs to be done well and isn't filler. I wouldn't mind if they explored the baby option too like someone mentioned on DA3 boards. Of course, it needs to make sense. Like an epilogue scene. I think that would work great there. I honestly feel like most romance content in Bioware games is filler but it's certainly done better than most games. I couldn't stand 'romances' in the Witcher games. They seemed very juvenile to me. I didn't think discovery of new sexual positions with Trish was mature. Especially since they never acknowledge a relationship at all. Seemed like she was nothing but a booty buddy. I found that silly. Mature would be finding commitment.

I like to think he'd be smitten/obsessed with the new protagonist, but won't allow himself to act on those feelings and try to ignore them until a certain point in the game where he can no longer contain his feelings (for whatever reason).

Ideally he'd proclaim his love after the protagonist has a near death experience, I think something like that would be enough to scare him into realising that life is too short etc.
