Do you expect Cullen's romance to be mushy like Alistair? Someone who is in love with love? One of the reasons why I love Kaidan and Alistair romance so much are due to how much they are into you. Anders and Fenris seem to care more about their own issues than love.

Maker, I hope so. I don't want a copy of Alistair, but I'd like to have another romance that was actually a romance, y'know? Because I agree so much with your last statement.

It doesn't need to be all about the protagonist. But I felt like Fenris and Anders (Anders especially) were kind of a joke as far as LI's go. Especially when sarcastic Hawke can make that comment about how you're basically raping Justice by having relations with Anders. I felt like the writers were laughing at my face behind candid camera. LOL

When Leandra died and both Fenris and Anders tried to "comfort" Hawke by saying that they've essentially suffered worse I dumped them both. Happily.

Deuce: Triss is a booty buddy. She's in love with him but he's in love with some other bird who he's got a kid with. You'd have to read the books, it's all very confusing, but essentially Triss drugged and pretty much raped poor old Geralt... not that he's bothered because he has no feelings now that he's a Witcher LOL!

This is why I say it needs to be done well and isn't filler. I wouldn't mind if they explored the baby option too like someone mentioned on DA3 boards. Of course, it needs to make sense. Like an epilogue scene. I think that would work great there. I honestly feel like most romance content in Bioware games is filler but it's certainly done better than most games. I couldn't stand 'romances' in the Witcher games. They seemed very juvenile to me. I didn't think discovery of new sexual positions with Trish was mature. Especially since they never acknowledge a relationship at all. Seemed like she was nothing but a booty buddy. I found that silly. Mature would be finding commitment.

Yeah, you may have just highlighted why I couldn't actually finish tW2. I felt filthy every time I had to see poor Triss' fire crotch. Part of that was probably, like you said, that it wasn't really much of a romance. I'm also just not super interested in seeing another lady's business.  Image IPB

See, that's what annoys me to hell in those games. They have so much backstory that they reference and it confuses me. When Bioware makes a reference to their books, they at least give you backstory on it in the game. They'd never leave you out in the cold on that or it would play a very minor part in the game.

I read books but I never knew Witcher had books until after I played the games lol.

Lol, yeah it would help if they'd given some sort of background history via codexs or something.

Someone made a thread the other day asking for mature themes like a baby and miscarriages on an LI/PC. Apparently Bioware had this theme in BG2. I never knew about it but you could actually get an LI pregnant and if you used her in battle, it was possible she could have a miscarriage.

I wouldn't mind mature themes but I think that one is a bit crazy. Why in the hell would any man take a woman into battle with him if she's pregnant? Or anyone for that matter? That's something that should sit on the sidelines, IMO. Maybe if it was something forced. I could see that. Like an attack on the home with her there.

I wouldn't even take Morrigan on the final battle in DA:O because she was with-child and it had literally only been concieved the night before LOL!

Yea, that was actually a good way to handle pregnancy, IMO. Morrigan disappears right after she has it too.

Ok, I know this question was asked a few pages back, but not many people answered it:

If you had the option to get married in DA3, would you?

Late to this, but so long as it wasn't filler and had some meaning/was a potential epilogue/near epilogue/wherever it would be most relevant... I'm sure I would have at least one character who would take the option. As at least one of my Shepards was all for settling down somewhere tropical and adopting kids with Garrus...

That was my first Shepard, actually. First playthrough of ME3. I will not go into the tears that were shed when my feels were ripped to shreds.

Yea but you can't take her into combat because she disappears, right? At least I remember it that way. Unless they have some way to get around that?

Yep, right after the battle! That was when she disappeared on most of my playthroughs anyway...

She sticks around for the final battle, regardless of whether you take to fight the Archdemon or leave her on the ground to fight with the others. She leaves right after the battle though, which is why she isn't there for the celebration at the end. Her slider says that she was seen in the frost back mountains with a baby.

Ah, ok. I don't remember her ever sticking around for me on my characters but I could be wrong. Been awhile since I played the game.

But anyways, they removed the baby problem fast. It basically involved magic and it was over in one night.

In BG2 you could actually carry the baby around in your backpack after she had it.

You could also put some old dude in your backpack apparently. It was a quest where you carry some dude on your back to get him healed or something, but he shows up in your inventory LOL.

lol yea. They actually made the baby thing really hard to discover. I didn't know about it until someone in BSN mentioned how to do it. You need to carry the relationship over to the expansion before you can have a baby too.

Anyways, it's getting late. Night!

I've never played the BG games, but I heard that the romances are ridiculously hard, especially with one particular love interest, which I think is the one you can get pregnant.

G'night!

Speaking of Baldur's Gate, one of the elves (Aerie) looks a lot like the new elven facial design in DA2, except slightly less exaggerated eyes and nose. I know they're toning down the Elves physical appearance in DA3, so maybe they'll look even more like Aerie?
