...Well, let's just say that as a bisexual person myself, the attitudes some people have towards multiple people being bisexual being "unrealistic and unbelievable" perplexes me to no end. And that they assume they know everything there is to know about human sexuality /shrug.
That and people acting like they're forced to romance somebody when it is in fact a completely optional part of each game.

^That's the kind of thread it turned into.

Ah, those pictures are lovely! I really, really like the effect of that water/ice magic. It's so curly and fancy -- and that hand! You draw hands so well! I always find them a pain in the butt to draw.

Dirgegun and Batteries - That thread pretty much explains why I keep my tree huggin' "can't we all just get along?" self in here where it's cozy and all are welcome. lol I'm all for voicing differences of opinion until it turns into straight up bigotry. Cullen would never stand for it.... I mean, except for when he does it himself . LOL

LOL Yup. He's become  lightning rod for almost all the issues folks have with Dragon Age (bisexual LIs, too much romance, templars are evil, fangirls are evil). It's sorta fascinating to see how, no matter what folks issues are with the character, it also inevitably turns into a discussion of his fans. Pfft.

I'm actually rather looking forward to Orlais. I think we've just scratched the surface of their culture, seeing some of the nobility via the de Launcets and Duke Prosper et al. in MotA, but then there's also all the intrigue ("the Game"), the masks, and also the seedy underbelly of all that amongst the commoners which we haven't seen at all. I don't know that I'm really keen on a list of characters that pits "good" vs. "obnoxious" though (sorry,brush!), since that's not really a polar comparison. Amongst the "obnoxious" there's quite a spectrum of good (e.g Isolde, even if annoying) to grating and played for comedy (e.g. Arlange) to downright evil (e.g. Duke Prosper). Also, we've seen a broad spectrum of characters within Ferelden, good, obnoxious, misguided, extreme-accented, and I would expect to see the same in Orlais (or wherever we go). I don't know that I want to start stereotyping all Orlesians already based on accents.

I'm glad someone shares this POV (even though I did obviously not so great a job of explaining it myself). The Orlesians we've met are a mixed bag, but the accent usually overshadows everything else and is usually played for laughs. If the whole game takes place in Orlais, we'll probably see more diversity among the Orlesians. But so far, the game already seems to stereotype most (not all, but most) Orlesians based on the accents. It's part of the charm!

... if the game is spread out over a few other countries (as we can, I think, expect it to be) I kind of hope the trend continues of making 85% of the Orlesian characters hilariously obnoxious. Just because it's fun.

I actually like French accents; I got used to them because my brother-in-law had a friend who was French and we hung out a lot. It doesn't sound anything like the snooty Isolde or Countess de Launcet though lol!

I'm actually eager and curious to hear more "soft" (not IN YOUR FACE ABSURD) accents like Riordan's

That sounds like a good idea. I sent a report, but maybe it's more effective if more people sent complains. That thread is just getting more and more personal, and it's not like it hadn't been discussed a hundred time already, and a thread was locked down recently by Bioware as well.

I think the really ridiculous Orlesian accents are purposely over the top, kinda like when British people do a really posh over the top English accent, or American's do that ott Valley Girl "like, oh my god" accent lol.
